Abstract

Abstract Disasters are one of the factors that cause disruption in the economy. In addition to the government, the role of the community is very important in economic recovery after a disaster occurs. The purpose of this community service is to provide training and assistance to communities affected by the flood disaster by utilizing local potential in the form of haruan fish and macaque plants. This activity was carried out in Terantang Village, Mandastana District, Barito Kuala Regency, which was attended by 41 PKK members. The results of the mentoring and training show that there is enthusiasm from the community in processing Haruan fish into crackers and the processing of macaque plants into chips. Local potential has a good value of 65%, 61% of benefits are very good, the type of processing has a good value of 44%, and the economic value shows a good value of 40%. Through the utilization and empowerment of the local potential-based economy, it is hoped that it can encourage community resilience and independence, especially in disaster-prone areas.Keywords: disaster, empowerment, economy, local potential AbstrakBencana menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab terjadinya gangguan dalam perekonomian. Selain pemerintah, peran masyarakat sangat penting dalam pemulihan ekonomi pasca terjadi bencana. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat yang terdampak bencana banjir dengan memanfaatkan potensi lokal berupa ikan haruan dan tanaman kelakai.  Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Terantang Kecamatan Mandastana Kabupaten Barito Kuala yang diikuti oleh ibu-ibu anggota PKK sebanyak 41 orang. Hasil pendampingan dan pelatihan menunjukkan adanya antusiasme masyarakat dalam mengolah ikan haruan menjadi kerupuk dan olahan tanaman kelakai menjadi keripik. Potensi lokal memiliki nilai 65% baik, manfaat sebanyak 61% sangat baik, jenis pengolahan memiliki nilai baik 44%, dan nilai ekonomis menunjukkan nilai baik 40%. Melalui pemanfaatan dan pemberdayaan ekonomi berbasis potensi lokal diharapkan dapat mendorong ketangguhan dan kemandirian masyarakat terutama di daerah rawan bencana.Kata kunci: bencana, ekonomi, pemberdayaan, potensi lokal

Abstract

The research location is in Middle School Sungai Tabuk 3 and Sungai Tabuk 4. Sungai Tabuk is a sub-district in Banjar Regency with a high threat level of floods and forest and land fires. Data collection through questionnaires, observation, and tests competence students. Data analysis with t test. The results showed 140 social studies teachers in Banjar Regency 56.6% had integrated natural disasters in social studies learning, the model developed was modified scientific inquiry learning frompre-disaster, disaster events, and post-disaster. There is an increase in student competence regarding disaster risk reduction, where t (count)> t (table) on trials first at SMPN 4 with trials second at SMPN 3. These findings lead to the conclusion that learning scientific with effective inquiry for student disaster risk reduction, relevant for social studies learning, relevant to increasing student activity, an effective inquiry model for improving the quality of social studies learning processes and products in junior high schools. The findings of this study have positive implications for the development of social studies learning about natural disasters in junior high schools. The practical implications of the findings of this study are an increase in the ability of social studies teachers and the socialization of inquiry models for reductionrisk disaster in Junior High School

Abstract

During 2019 the Riam Kanan Reservoir had a decrease in water level due to drought. As a result, the income of fish farmers has decreased. This study aims to determine the livelihood assets of fish farmers as long as the pond does not provide maximum income. The research sample is fish farmers as many as 90 respondents. Livelihood Asset Questionnaire refers to DFID. The results showed that the livelihood assets of fish farmers had natural capital of 66, physical capital of 62, human capital of 42, financial capital of 14, and social capital of 11. Attention to financial and social capital needed to be increased to reduce social vulnerability in fish farming families.

Abstract

Pekauman Village, located in South Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City, in the last three years (2019-2021), had the highest number of residential fires, namely 17 incidents. Children are a vulnerable group. Learning media is one of the efforts to increase students' understanding of disaster mitigation. Learning media that can be used to increase students' knowledge about disaster mitigation is educational games. The educational game used in this study is the wasikerman educational game; this game explains the stages of residential fire mitigation. The method used in this research is Quasi-Experimental, Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study was the entire class VII, totalling 41 students, divided into two classes, namely the control and experimental classes. Results were measured by distributing the pretest at the beginning and the posttest at the end of the study. The results of this study are an increase in knowledge in the experimental class by 52% and an increase in knowledge in the control class by 39%, so that learning about residential fire mitigation using the educational game wasikerman is 13% superior to using only reading material.Kelurahan Pekauman yang terletak di Kecamatan Banjarmasin Selatan, Kota Banjarmasin, dalam tiga tahun terakhir (2019-2021) memiliki jumlah kebakaran perumahan tertinggi yaitu 17 kejadian. Anak-anak adalah kelompok yang rentan. Penggunaan media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang mitigasi bencana. Media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang mitigasi bencana adalah game edukasi. Game edukasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah game edukasi wasikerman, game ini menjelaskan tahapan-tahapan mitigasi kebakaran perumahan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental Non Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VII yang berjumlah 41 siswa yang terbagi menjadi dua kelas yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil diukur dengan membagikan pretest di awal penelitian dan posttest di akhir penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 52%, dan peningkatan pengetahuan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 39%, sehingga pembelajaran tentang mitigasi kebakaran perumahan dengan menggunakan game edukasi wasikerman 13% lebih unggul menggunakan bahan bacaan saja.

Abstract

Ketidaknyamanan di ruangan kelas dapat mengakibatkan penurunan produktivitas kegiatan belajar. Kenyamanan ruangan kelas dapat berpengaruh terhadap konsentrasi dan produktivitas siswa serta guru. Pembelajaran yang kurang memberdayakan lingkungan fisik, baik di kelas dan di lingkungan luar kelas dapat berdampak pada kualitas hasil belajar peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, kondisi termal yang tidak nyaman dapat menyebabkan kelelahan dan hambatan dalam berpikir. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi aspek kenyamanan termal dalam pembelajaran di sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kenyamanan termal merupakan satu aspek penting untuk diperhatikan pada pembelajaran. Sebagaimana sarana pendidikan merupakan penunjang bagi berlangsungnya proses belajar mengajar. Terdapat tiga aspek yang perlu diperhatikan untuk menentukan kualitas kenyamanan termal suatu ruang kelas. Pertama, kenyamanan termal aspek fisik merupakan perpaduan dari suhu, kelembaban udara, kecepatan aliran udara, suhu radiasi dengan panas yang dihasilkan oleh metabolisme tubuh. Kedua, kenyamanan termal aspek fisiologis tergantung pada temperatur badan manusia ke temperatur kulit serta tingkat berkeringat badan. Ketiga, Kenyamanan termal aspek psikologis merupakan kondisi pikiran yang mengekspresikan tingkat kepuasan seseorang terhadap lingkungan termalnya. Beberapa aspek dalam kenyaman termal tersebut merupakan faktor yang harus diperhatikan oleh sebuah lembaga pendidikan karena mempengaruhi kelangsungan proses belajar mengajar di sekolah.

Abstract

This counselling and demonstration were conducted to analyze the improvement of disaster mitigation abilities in school-age children through the educational game media "UTAS-GANA" in the New Transfer Village, Rantau Badauh District, Batola Regency. The method used in this activity uses lecture and demonstration methods. This activity was held on Monday, March 7, 2021, in the Village of New Transfer, Rantau Badauh District, Batola Regency. The counselling and demonstrations show an increase in disaster mitigation abilities in school-age children. This activity uses media in the form of an educational game UTAS-GANA (snake and ladder-disaster alert). The learning process about disasters will be well recorded in students' long-term memory.

Abstract

Sentra UMKM kerajinan sasirangan di Kabupaten Banjar satu di antaranya terletak di Kampung Sasirangan Kecamatan Kertak Hanyar. Permasalahan yang perlu diselesaikan adalah belum tersedianya sign system di lokasi UMKM. Tujuan dirancangnya sign system yaitu memberikan informasi visual kepada pengunjung tentang lokasi-lokasi pengrajin dan penjualan kain sasirangan di Kecamatan Kertak Hanyar. Metode kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui 3 tahap, yaitu pra kegiatan dengan melakukan observasi kepada para pengusaha UMKM dan koordinasi kepada pejabat pemerintahan setempat, tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pemasangan sign system di lokasi yang telah ditentukan oleh tim pengabdian bersama kelompok paguyuban pengrajin kain sasirangan dan perwakilan aparat lingkungan setempat, dan pasca kegiatan meliputi evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dipasangnya sign system di tempat pengusaha UMKM kain sasirangan. Para pengusaha UMKM merasa sangat terbantu dengan adanya sign system, karena selain berfungsi sebagai penunjuk arah, sign system juga berfungsi sebagai identitas visual usaha mereka. Diharapkan dengan adanya sign system tempat usaha mereka semakin dikenal oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the institutional development of the Social Studies Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), during the period 2014–2023 and its relation to achieving the Top Department SINTA recognition in 2022. The research employed a qualitative approach using the historical research method through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, historiography, and chronological analysis of institutional documents, publication reports, study program archives, and in-depth interviews with academic leaders and lecturers. The results indicate strengthened organizational structure, an increased number of home-based lecturers, and a significant rise in scientific publication productivity through the establishment of three internal journals: The Innovation of Social Studies Journal (ISSJ), Kalimantan Social Studies Journal (KSSJ), and Journal of Social Development (J-SOD). The integration of institutional policy with publication strategies fostered a productive academic culture, while transformational leadership contributed to enhancing lecturers' motivation to write. This study recommends continuous scientific writing training and the implementation of a performance-based incentive system as strategic efforts to sustain and improve the study program's achievements.

Abstract

This research aims to identify forms of community participation in managing household waste in South Banjarmasin District. The research method uses descriptive quantitative. Respondents in the study totaled 232 heads of families. The data used in the research are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is in the form of observations and questionnaires, secondary data is sourced from the Environmental Service, Banjarmasin City Central Statistics Agency and the South Bajarmasin District Government. Community participation in household waste management in South Banjarmasin District includes five parameters of forms of participation, namely thoughts, energy, assets and skills and abilities. The results of the research show that from 4 sub-districts in South Banjarmasin District, namely Kelayan Selatan, Pekauman, Kelayan Tengah and Tanjung Pagar, the first form of participation is the form of property participation in the form of active community members paying fees to the waste officers every 4 weeks ranging from IDR 4,000-20,000 . The second most common form of participation is the form of participation from the idea of knowing about waste management in the waste bank from the RT head, through information on waste management, the community participates in depositing waste every 2 weeks to the waste bank. The third most common form of participation is the form of labor participation in sorting organic waste to be used as compost, eco enzyme and inorganic waste to be made into handicrafts such as flower vases, tables and decorative lamps every 4 weeks. The fourth most common form of participation is the form of skill and skill participation, namely using organic waste into compost and eco enzymes in Tanjung Pagar Village and using inorganic waste into handicrafts such as flower vases, tables and decorative lamps, and in Kelayan Selatan and Kelayan Tengah Village only limited collecting, sorting, selling and weighing waste to the waste bank and the public gets a savings book from the waste deposit.
