Abstract

AbstractHealth is an important issue for everyone. Moreover, dense urban communities, poor air pollution, inadequate building shapes and space are one of the triggers for Tuberculosis (TB). Communities in Duri Kepa Village, West Jakarta, are vulnerable to tuberculosis. To avoid and overcome TB, social campaign activities are needed. Through social campaigns it is hoped that the people in Duri Kepa Village will avoid transmission and those who have been affected can recover from TB disease. Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Communication at the University of Esa Unggul hold community service, through education and counseling. The results of the activities show that there is an improvement in the healthy lifestyle of the community participating in education and counseling. The implementation of this campaign is recommended to the public to be open to activities that are beneficial to the community. Keywords : Social campaign, tuberculosis, urban communities AbstrakKesehatan adalah masalah penting untuk diperhatikan setiap orang.Masyarakat perkotaan yang padat, polusi udara yang buruk, bentuk bangunan dan luas ruang yang kurang memadai menjadi salah satu pemicu munculnya penyakit Tuberculosis (TBC).Masyarakat di Kelurahan Duri Kepa, Jakarta Barat, rentan pada TBC.Untuk menghindari dan Menangulangi penyakit TBC diperlukan kegiatan kampanye sosial.Melalui kampanye social ini diharapkan masyarakat di Kelurahan Duri Kepa terhindar dari penularan dan bagi yang sudah terkena dapat segera pulih dari penyakit TBC.Dosen dan mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Esa Unggul mengadakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, melalukan edukasi dan penyuluhan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan adanya perbaikan cara hidup sehat pada masyarakat peserta edukasi dan penyuluhan. Atas pelaksanaan kampanye ini disarankan kepada masyarakat untuk terbuka pada kegiatan yang sifatnya menguntungkan masyarakat. Kata kunci: Kampanye sosial, tuberculosis, masyarakat perkotaan

Abstract

This study focuses on examining the role of the EPDC (The Energetic People Development Centre) program in improving the skills of public speaking participants. The objectives of this study are 1) To describe the role of the EPDC program in EPDC participants; 2) To describe the constraints of the program. This research uses a case study research method. For this research, the object of research is the role of the EPDC. While the subjects of this study were participants of the EPDC (The Energetic People Department Centre). Data collection techniques using interviews. The validity of the research data used data triangulation and source triangulation. After obtaining the data obtained, the results of the study indicate that with a tutor, character, and behaviour turned out to support the success of public speaking skills. The conclusion is the ability of public speaking participants after attending the training given progress.

Abstract

Amphuri is an organization consisting of PIHK (Special Hajj Organizer) and PPIU (Umrah Organizing Company) in Indonesia is democratic, free, independent and responsible in handling the world of hajj and Umrah in the broadest sense and creating a conducive and competitive climate. The hope of this association is to have strong bargaining power in negotiating with Muassasah and various other stakeholders. One of the organizational communication strategies implemented by AMPHURI in building the company's image to members is to be a media liaison between members with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Stakeholders in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. According to Peter R. Monge and Noshir S, Network Theory is "connectedness" or "connectedness" which is the idea that there is a relatively stable line of communication between individuals and members of the organization. Relationship Management Theory focuses on building or establishing mutually beneficial relationships in organizations, this theory is known as Organization Public Relationship (OPR) theory. According to Kriyantoni (2017), this OPR departs from the co-creational paradigm that considers communication is used to stimulate the public to jointly create meaning (co-creator meaning) and suppress it in building relationships with all public. Public Relations is an activity related to establishing good relations with the target public, PR establishing good communication to external and internal organizations. (Effendy, 2011). Research with this qualitative method looks at how influential organizational communication strategies are in building a company's image on members through case studies on AMPHURI work programs. The results of this research show that AMPHURI's work program is an organizational communication strategy implemented by AMPHURI to support the company's operations with the aim of creating an image in its member companies. AMPHURI's work program has been well received and run by members by following and supporting all work programs and training programs for its members.

Abstract

This exploratory descriptive phenomenological research aims to understasnd how an elderly person has an understanding of digital media and experiences when using it through theoretical perspectives, concepts, and indicators of digital literacy. Furthermore, this research also explores how to deal with intergenerational communication that occurs between the elderly and children in the context of parenting in the digital media era. Research shows that the elderly have a fairly good, critical, balanced level of understanding about the positive and negative impacts of the internet for their self and their children. Most of the elderly are able to use digital media in their daily lives to communicate, and some others can use digital media to create content. Yang-Eyang also take action to guide the elderly for apply parenting patterns that are adapted to the world of children to build intimacy. Even so, the elderly also implement several strategies to regulate children's use of digital media that run by Yang-Eyang Community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the role of the public relations strategy of PT. Train Commuter Indonesia is related to the dissemination of information regarding services and operations of commuter line trains and local trains during the Covid-19 pandemic. Conducting a study to describe the implementation of PT. Kereta Commuter Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic, analyzed the supporting and inhibiting factors related to the implementation of this communication strategy. As well as analyzing the way of determining and implementing the Public Relations communication strategy of PT. Kereta Commuter Indonesia, and Describe the influence of the public relations strategy of PT. Train Commuter Indonesia is in operation of train trips during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative method approach with interview techniques to obtain primary data from reliable and credible sources and with literature study techniques to obtain additional data on the object being studied. The results of the study show that the public relations communication strategy plays an important role in conveying information related to Commuter Train operations and services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Submission of information is carried out in two methods, namely through offline by delivering information directly and online by utilizing social media. Abstract

Face to face communication patterns and media communication patterns at Gallery of PTIndosat Ooredoo, Supermall Karawaci, Tangerang, can increase sales. Customers can better understand the aims and objectives from customer service by using face to face communication patterns and media in the context of marketing communication. This research method uses participant observation conducted by researchers and indepth interviews. This type of research uses Qualitative research methods. The result of the research that have been obtained are the implementation of the role of the customer service and customers at the Gallery of PT Indosat Ooredoo, Supermall Karawaci, Tangerang, for increasing sales.

Abstract

Penyajian berita di televisi bisa mengalami erosi dan distorsi fakta. Erosi dan distorsi fakta terjadi bila berita yang disajikan mengalami pengikisan atau penambahan fakta akibat tidak sempurnya peralatan jasmaniah dan rohaniah wartawan. Kasus seperti ini sudah sering terjadi. Ini tentu tak boleh terjadi dan terus berlangsung. Bila materi berita ini sampai kepada audiencetentu bisa menyesatkan public. Namun yang berbahaya lagi kepercayaan public terhadap pemberitaan tv lambat laun akan pudar. Bila ini terjadi, pemberitaan tv akan rugi besar. Itulah sebabnya pemberitaan tv harus serius mengontrol berita yang mereka sajikan. Reporter mengumpulkan bahan sesuai ketentuan. Eksekutif produser dan produser harus senantiasa menyaleksi dan menyunting ketat berita yang mereka terima dari reporter. Bila ini kurang diperhatikan dan diabaikan lambat laun citra atau image pemberitaan akan runtuh.

Abstract

Kelompok dosen dan mahasiswa program studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Esa Unggul mempelajari fenomena yang terjadi saat ini. Ditemukan bahwa perkembangan media digital khususnya internet dan smartphone menyebabkan meluapnya informasi. Melalui gadget yang dimiliki, masyarakat dibombardir oleh berbagai aplikasi informasi berbagai persoalan. Remaja karena sifat ingin tahu dan kurang kritis menjadi rentan pada kondisi ini. Di Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah PCM Srengseng sekelompok remaja gemar menggunakan gadget untuk berbagai kegiatan seperti media social, game online, financial technology (fintech), dan aplikasi chatting. Kepada mereka perlu diberikan pengetahuan literasi digital agar memiliki kemampuan untuk menggunakan gadget secara sehat dan aman. Hasil musyawarah dengan pengurus Panti, sepakat untuk mengadakan kegiatan “Sosialisasi Peningkatan Literasi Digital di Lingkungan Anak – Anak Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah PCM Srengseng” sebagai kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat.  Sasaran dari kegiatan ini dipilih remaja setingkat SLTP, karena dianggap rentan terhadap penggunaan gadget dan internet yang berlebihan. Tujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keahlian tentang penggunaan media digital khususnya bermedia sosial. Pengetahuan dan kehalian ini pada gilirannya menjadi banteng pertahanan mereka dalam menyaring informasi yang kurang bertanggungjawab di internet. Dalam mewujudkan tujuan tersebut, dikemas materi menjadi dua persoalan utama, yaitu literasi digital dan pembuatan poster. Dalam pelaksanaan anak remaja di bagi menjadi berkelompok dan lomba agar tercipta dinamika dalam kegiatan. Terbukti dari hasil lomba yang dilakukan, anak-anak sangat antusias dan berhasil menyerap materi dengan baik. Anak – anak Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah PCM Srengseng lebih dapat memahami tentang pentingnya Literasi Digital sehingga memiliki sikap bijaksana untuk tidak terpengaruh dengan hal-hal negatif yang terdapat pada media sosial. Karena hasilnya sangat positif, disarankan kegiatan seperti ini dapat ditingkat pada kelompok lain yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Currently, Tiktok is one of the social media that continues to grow and is favoured by large audience. Not only uploading dance videos like when they first appeared, Tiktok now also makes it easier for users to provide and disseminate information. One of the accounts that utilizes the social media Tiktok as a medium for disseminating health information is the @clahayes account. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of using the Tiktok account @clahayes, to find out the fulfilment of information needs, and to find out how much influence from the intensity of using the Tiktok account @clahayes. The account has served as a communicator who releases messages of education on fulfilment of the health information needs of diet followers (communicant). The theory used in this study is Uses and Gratifications, with a quantitative approach using a survey method. Questionnaire as a data collection method was distributed to Tiktok @clahayes followers who are in total 100 after calculated using Slovin formula. This study uses purposive sampling technique. The results indicate that the frequency distribution on the variable Intensity of Use of Tiktok (X) are included in the high category, which is equal to 55%, while the results of the frequency distribution on the information needs variable (Y) are included in the high category, which is 100%. It can be concluded that the higher the intensity of using Tiktok, the higher the fulfilment of information needs. The results of the simple linear regression test in this study had a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The effect on the variable intensity of use of Tiktok (X) has a percentage of influence of 35.4% on information needs (Y).Keywords: Intensity of Social Media Use, Information Needs, Tiktok
