Abstract

ABSTRACT. The purpose of the study was to determine how the cocoa value chain and add value to the cocoa economy in the supply chain and the Paya Bakong subdistrict, North Aceh District Geurudong Pase. The study population was farmers who joined in cocoa development program by Action Aid and Keumang Foundation 2010-2012, the analysis used is Economic Value Added. The results of the study describes the average cost of production and revenue cocoa plant age 8-9 years is Rp. 2.609 million, - and Rp. 8.228 million, - per hectare per year, with the R / C ratio of 3,05. The average cost per year for the production and revenue of plant age 12-13 years worth Rp 2.827.182,- per hectare with the R / C ratio of 3,96. Value chain that forms at the site of research involving farmers (chain 1), cooperatives, traders or peddlers village, a large village traders (chain 2), secondary cooperatives, districts traders/wholesaler (chain 3), provincial wholesalers / exporters (chain 4) , as well as the industry at home and abroad (chain 5). Value chain created by the farmers - exporters are changes in the value of cocoa into quality classes I, II, III (SNI 01-2323-2000) industry demand. Analysis of Economic Value Added (EVA), Farmers plant age 8-9 years at 3,11 percent, and farmers plant age level 12-13 years gained 3,85 percent. Level of 3,86 percent trader agent, village wholesaler 7,20 percent, district level and wholesalers 5,75 percent. Cooperative farmers obtain the net value added 2,08 percent of each transaction cycle.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. This study aims to know the survival strategies used by coffee farmers in post- conflict Kute Panang district of Central Aceh and what factors are dominant over coffee growers survival strategies in post-conflict Kute Panang district of Central Aceh. This study is using a qualitative approach through phenomenological observation of the 24 villages in the districts in Central Aceh. Techniques of data collection by observation, in-depth interviews and literature study. The findings of the field for a survival strategy adopted, among others, Productions Strategy, Patronage Strategy, Vertical Solidarity Strategi, Strategy Owe, Accumulation Strategy, Strategy Odd, Manipulation Strategies Commodities, Temporary Migration Strategy, while the dominant factors of the survival strategy of internal factors such as an awareness of crop production is seasonal, lack of employment, low amounts of revenues and expenses to need, to be influenced by external factors family support, support neighbors

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Farming is a plot of land or a part of the earth's surface where the farmers and their families to grow crops or raise livestock. A farmer faced with the enigma to determining the competition of activity in optimizing farming activities. The research was done in Lam Seunong village, Kecamatan Kota Baro, Aceh Besar, the object of research is the farmers who worked in rice, mustard and lettuce land farm. The purpose of this research was to know optimal cropping pattern for mustard and lettuce farming in rice production areas in an effort to increase the optimize income of farmers. The research using purposive sampling techniques with particular sampling, analytical methods using linear programming optimization. The results showed the optimal cropping pattern in the local rice production area is rice and mustard greens in the first season and lettuce in the second season that will obtain maximum revenue of Rp. 76,568,940.00 per period of the rice planting season. With an area of arable land each season is 0.3 hectare for rice in the first season, 0.26 hectare for mustard in the first season, and 0.26 hectare for lettuce second season.
