Abstract

Seni prtunjukan wayang mencerminkan masalah kehidupan terutama orang Jawa. Hal ini meliputi hubungan orang Jawa dengan tatanan alam kodrati dan adikodrati serta antara dirinya sendiri dengan sesama manusia. Berdasarkan analisis struktural Levi-Strauss ditemkan, bahwa ralitas-realitas kehidupan terutama orang jwa yang terpriyeksi melalui struktur  yang bersifat dialektis, baik pada tingkat kognitif maupun empiris, diluar pemikirna manusia. Relasi antar tokoh dalam cerita Sumantri Ngenger menunjukkan adanya konflik yang timbul dari adanya kepentingan-kepentingan pribadi atau  kelompok dan juga adanya status-status tertentu. Abstract

Abstract

Garap pocapan merupakan bagian dari garap catur dalam pertunjukan wayang kulit purwa.Pocapan diiringi oleh grimingan gender di semua wilayah pathet. Penelitian ini memfokuskanpada keselarasan lagu dengan fungsi pocapan dan kaitannya dengan makna pilihan kata sebagaipendukung suasana yang ditampilkan dalam suatu adegan lakon Sudhamala. Tujuan penelitian iniadalah mendeskripsikan iringan yang menyertai pocapan keterkaitannya dengan fungsi pocapan danmenganalisis kesesuaiannya dengan makna kata dan suasana yang ditampilkan dalam sebuah adegan.Permasalahan tersebut dikaji secara tekstual dengan pendekatan struktur. Berdasarkan penelitiandisimpulkan bahwa iringan yang menyertai pocapan disesuaikan dengan wilayah pathet dan maknakata yang dipilih. Makna kata dalam pocapan juga disesuaikan dengan suasana yang ditampilkandalam sebuah adegan. Antara iringan, makna kata pocapan, dan suasana dalam adegan terdapatkeselarasan untuk mendukung satu kesatuan fungsi pertunjukan secara keseluruhan dalam lakonSudhamala.

Abstract

This article will study the exploiting of language medium to get the certain effect of catur in the puppet plays. One of the language mediums that can be exploited in the form of the usage of sound language related to rime rhythm. The study of rime or purwakanthi involves purwakanthi guru swara, basa and sastra indicate that there is an existence of sound similarity at nearby words. It can strengthen the compability of rhythm and create the atmosphere and also certain impression. It can be happened because of contact of sharpened hearing sense that will be able to feel the beauty, compatibility in sound which emergency successive and oreder.Key words : purwakanthi, catur, puppet plays

Abstract

Ruwatan dengan lakon Sudhamala pada mulanya digunakan untuk meruwat sukerta, peristiwa bersih desa, khitanan, dan pernikahan. Akan tetapi, pada era modern ruwatan dengan lakon itu juga difungsikan untuk kegiatan yang terkait dengan kehidupan masyarakat modern, misalnya ulang tahun, peresmian perusahaan, dan lain-lain. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu bagaimana pergeseran fungsi ritual ruwatan Sudhamala dan faktor-faktor apa yang menyebabkannya. Pendekatan fungsi  digunakan untuk mencari jawaban atas permasalahan tersebut. Metode pengumpulan data didapat dari observasi langsung, yaitu melihat pertunjukan wayang lakon Sudhamala, merekam, dan mentranskripsikannya. Wawancara dan studi pustaka juga dilakukan guna melengkapi data. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil, bahwa fungsi ritual lakon Sudhamala bergeser karena sumber cerita berasal dari teks hasil karya masyarakat “pinggiran” dan menjadi seni ritual yang bersifat kerakyatan sehingga mudah mencair seiring dengan dinamika masyarakat. Pergeseran fungsi ritual disebabkan oleh faktor internal (pendidikan, pengalaman, agama) dan eksternal (kekuasaan, teknologi, ekonomi).Ruwatan with lakon Sudhamala, previously, is committed for sukerta, bersih desa (purifying a village from evil spirits), circumsicion and wedding party. In this modern era, eventhough, ruwatan is also functioned for the life of modern society for example birthday party, business ceremony, and others. Problem of this research covers how the change of ritual function of ruwatan Sudhamala is  and whatever factors that cause the change is. The function approach is executed to solve the problems. The method of data collecting is executed through direct observation by looking at the wayang performance lakon Sudhamala, recording, and then transcripting it. Interview and library study are also committed to complete the data. The research finding shows that the ritual function of lakon Sudhamala has changed for the story source comes from "marginal" text and becomes a populist ritual art so that it easily melt along with the social dynamics. The shift of ritual function is caused by internal factors (education, experience, religion) and external factors (power, technology, economy).

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is to create an animation as a vehicle for relief from animal stories, especially goats and elephants in Sojiwan Temple to be applied as character education for children. The animation model based on the reliefs of animal stories at Sojiwan Temple is useful for reviving story reliefs that are not recognized by children as local wisdom of the nation's culture. By transforming animal story reliefs into animation, it is hoped that the message of character education can be disseminated to the younger generation.Methods of creation and presentation: (1) exploration of ideas and ideas for creating animated creations based on relief of animal stories; (2) designing a model to find an animation design with a transfer approach; and (3) presenting the results of creating animated characters to facilitate the delivery of character education messages for children to strengthen the character of the younger generation. The results of this study indicate that 1) the reliefs of Sojiwan Temple are mostly in the form of potential animals to be used as references for animation creations and are loaded with good moral values for children's education; 2) the design of the animated characters of Gaga and Bingo, which originates from the form of an elephant and a goat, looks its uniqueness. Keywords: vehicle transfer, animal relief, animation, character, Sojiwan.  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini untuk menciptakan animasi sebagai alih wahana dari relief cerita binatang khususnya kambing dan gajah di Candi Sojiwan untuk diterapkan sebagai pendidikan budi pekerti bagi anak. Model animasi berbasis relief cerita binatang di Candi Sojiwan bermanfaat untuk menghidupkan kembali relief cerita yang sudah tidak dikenali oleh anak-anak sebagai kearifan lokal budaya bangsa. Dengan mengalihwahanakan relief cerita binatang ke dalam bentuk animasi maka pesan pendidikan budi pekerti diharapkan dapat didesiminasikan kepada generasi muda.Metode penciptaan dan penyajian: (1) eksplorasi ide dan gagasan untuk penciptaan kreasi animasi berbasis relief cerita binatang; (2) perancangan model untuk menemukan desain animasi dengan pendekatan alihwahana; dan (3) penyajian hasil penciptaan karakter animasi guna mempermudah penyampaian pesan pendidikan budi pekerti bagi anak untuk memperkuat karakter generasi muda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) relief Candi Sojiwan yang mayoritas berbentuk binatang potensial untuk dijadikan referensi bagi kreasi animasi dan sarat dengan nilai moral yang bagus untuk edukasi anak-anak; 2) desain karakter animasi tokoh Gaga dan Bingo yang bersumber dari bentuk gajah dan kambing tampak kekhasannya. Kata kunci: alih wahana, relief binatang, animasi, budi pekerti, Sojiwan.

Abstract

Garap lakon (lakon treatment) Pandawa Matirta contains moral values. This study attempts to describe the moral values found in the shadow puppet performance Lakon Pandawa Matirta presented by Cahyo Kuntadi. Moral values can be seen from the garap lakon including janturan and ginem. This study uses the theory put forward by Zuriah. The research is qualitative with data collected through literature studies, interviews, and observations on social media. The results of the study indicate that there are moral values, namely (1) the relationship between humans and God including: knowing God as the creator, God as the giver (love, affection), God as the giver of rewards (good and bad), and worship as communication with God; (2) Moral values of human relationships with humans include: greeting when meeting, not making fun of someone beyond the limit, not being prejudiced, not offending their feelings, not slandering without evidence, always maintaining their good name, and helping someone in difficulties; (3) moral values related to human relations with the environment, namely caring for flora and fauna; and maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and evaluate research on traditional music in Asia over the past 20 years based on a Scopus database search. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer software to examine and assess patterns, trends, and developments in studies on traditional music through Scopus-indexed publications. From an analysis of 1,872 documents in the Scopus database, the Asian-European Music Research Journal emerged as the most consistent source publishing studies on traditional music. The subject area of Social Sciences appeared most frequently and was the most commonly used category in studies on traditional music in Asia over the past two decades. However, these studies have remained to fully interpret and respond to the aesthetic and ethical transformations of traditional music in the era of globalization, which still has the potential to raise various issues related to culture, musical instruments, performance styles, and social functions. This study is significant for future research on traditional music, serving as a foundation for scholarly discussions in addressing the factors and implications of aesthetic and ethical transformations in traditional music in the globalized era.

Abstract

Surono Gondo Taruno's shadow puppet (wayang kulit) performance has a distinctive cross-style, making him a famous puppeteer in East Java. Accordingly, this discussion seeks to answer the question, "What is the cross-style of Surono's wayang figures in the Wahyu Wijaya Kusuma play? This discussion uses a qualitative method with Sunardi and Umar Kayam's cross-styled approach. Observational and interview-based were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The study results indicate that Surono's performance uses a cross-styled approach between the Surakarta style as the dominant style and the East Java and the Yogyakarta styles as the supporters. Surono's cross-style has made his performance attractive to contemporary spectators.

Abstract

This paper discusses the aesthetics of virtual wayang performances by puppeteers. The problems studied are: (1) why puppeteers have a new tendency to perform virtual wayang; and (2) the aesthetic style of the virtual wayang performances. Data collection methods by interviews with puppeteers, literature studies about virtual wayang, and observations of wayang virtual performances by puppeteers were analyzed by aesthetic theory. The study results showed that puppeteers used digital platforms to maintain their profession's continuity and economic living conditions. The tendency of virtual wayang to give rise to an aesthetic style of digital puppets is known as aesthetics of taste, with the orientation of wayang performance to meet public tastes. The conclusion results state that the aesthetic style of the virtual wayang performance: (1) the camera as a representation of the audience's eyes; (2) puppeteers are required to be creative, innovative, and productive; (3) the audience has the freedom to determine their tastes; and (4) the importance of collaboration that must be carried out by the puppeteer.
