Abstract

This study aimed to examine the optimization of English teaching through the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) method to improve the speaking ability of eleventh-grade students at Vocational High School Nurul Huda Sukaraja. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group taught using the TBLT method and a control group taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through oral tests and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results revealed that the TBLT method significantly enhanced students’ speaking performance. Statistical analysis through the independent t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.001 < 0.05). These findings suggest that TBLT is an effective approach for fostering students’ speaking competence and communicative confidence in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes by implementing the jigsaw cooperative learning model for ninth grade students at SMP N 1 Sakti in the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects of this study were 30 ninth grade students at SMP N 1 Sakti. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, reflection, and revision stages. Data collection techniques use observation and tests. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there was an improvement in the learning outcomes of ninth-grade students at SMP N 1 Sakti after the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in social studies. This can be seen in the initial conditions, where the average score was 52.5, with a maximum score of 70. In Cycle I, the average score was 60.69, with a maximum score of 90. In Cycle II, the average score was 74.14, with a maximum score of 100. Learning completion increased, from 48.28% in the initial conditions, to 65.22% in Cycle I, and 89.65% in Cycle II.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that may begin during pregnancy and is strongly influenced by maternal nutritional status, particularly adequate protein intake. Pregnant women with 4T risk factors (too young, too old, short birth spacing, and high parity) are more vulnerable to nutritional problems that can affect fetal growth. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of high-risk pregnant women in fulfilling protein intake through nutrition education and training on soy milk (PUSUI) preparation as an alternative source of plant-based protein. A quasi-experimental design without a control group was applied using a participatory educational approach. The activity was conducted in Tanjung Gunung Village, Central Bangka Regency, involving 25 pregnant women with 4T risk factors. The intervention consisted of interactive educational sessions, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations and practice in soy milk preparation. Evaluation was carried out descriptively through observation and post-test assessments to measure participants' understanding. The results showed an improvement in participants' knowledge regarding the role of protein during pregnancy and their ability to independently prepare soy milk. In addition, participants demonstrated good acceptance of soy milk as an alternative protein source. In conclusion, this community service program is effective and feasible as a supportive strategy to increase protein intake among high-risk pregnant women and contribute to stunting prevention from the prenatal period.
