Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sedayu, Dusun Semawung, Kecamatan Muntilan, Kabupaten Magelang, pada kelompok PKK Dusun Semawung. Kegiatan ini bertujuan membantu para ibu untuk meningkatkan kesehatan keluarga dengan mengurangi pengeluaran dalam membeli obat, dan meningkatkan pemanfaatan pekarangan dengan tanaman yang berfungsi sebagai obat. Penerapan kegiatan adalah dengan introduksi beberapa jenis tanaman yang berfungsi sebagai obat. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, penyuluhan, demonstrasi plot dan pendampingan. Perubahan pola pikir dan gaya hidup masyarakat saat ini memerlukan adanya sosialisasi. Sosialisasi TOGA terus dilakukan baik melalui pelatihan hingga pengadaan lomba Desa atau Kota Pelaksana Terbaik Kegiatan Pemanfaatan Hasil TOGA hingga tingkat nasional. Lemahnya daya beli masyarakat dan melambungnya harga obat-obatan modern memaksa masyarakat dan pemerintah mencari upaya mengatasi keadaan ini dengan cara kembali ke alam

Abstract

The lack of literacy culture in students such as reading literacy, scientific literacy, and digital literacy makes it difficult for parents to accompany students in distance learning activities at home. Therefore, this service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the literacy culture in students through the use of the Alam Kalijaga Reading House located in Nasri Hamlet, Sidogede, Grabag, Magelang. The stages of implementing this program are planning, implementation, and evaluation. The activities given are inviting children to learn together to increase their interest in reading, which begins with socializing the importance of current literacy, practicing using a laptop, and labeling plant names and their benefits. In this way, it supports students and parents in the distance learning process and the creation of a literacy culture.

Abstract

Established in 2016, Bank Sampah Lestari, a community-based waste bank, was forced to cease operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This outreach initiative aimed to revitalize waste management activities at Bank Sampah Lestari. Employing a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, the project encompassed a series of activities, including raising awareness about the crucial role of waste banks, guiding participants in waste sorting practices, facilitating the sale of paper and cardboard waste, teaching organic fertilizer production, promoting maggot cultivation, encouraging the creation of handicrafts from plastic waste, and supporting vegetable gardening within the bank's premises. The project's outcomes included: 1) the establishment of a new organizational structure for bank sampah membership, 2) the resumption of waste sorting, collection, and sales activities, and 3) enhanced community creativity and knowledge regarding waste management practices.
