Abstract

Temporary special measures or positive discrimination on woman participation in legislatives, or known as affirmative action has been established since 2004 by Political Party and Legislative Acts packages. This research is using qualitative methods with socio-legal approach, which is combining the two aspects: regulation aspect and non-regulation aspect. It is necessary to combine those two aspect to put the text on the context; relation between law and its underpinned implementation on society. The result from this research show that on 2004, the number of East Java Province Legislative’s members were 100, consists of 85 person male and 15 person female. On the district level, Surabaya is the highest number of woman representation by 34% (17 from 50), Madiun 33,3% (10 from 30), Kediri 33,3% (10 from 30, and Probolinggo 33,3% (10 from 30). The lowest precentage were Bangkalan, Sampang, and Pasuruan whose woman’s precentation were below 3%. The main factor of the low women legislative’s representation number were the patriarch culture, the image of domestic women instead of their public-political actions effecting both of the women electability, male-dominated political party’s culture and their political participation itselfKebijakan khusus dikenal dengan prinsip “ Affirmative Action “ atau diskriminasi positif  telah diterapkan pada UU Partai Politik dan UU Pemilu Legislatif.  Affirmative Action bersifat sementara, sehingga apabila tujuan dan sasaran untuk mencapai kesetaraan telah tercapai atau kelompok-kelompok yang dilindungi telah terintegrasi, maka kebijakan tersebut tidak lagi diterapkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan sosio legal research, Penelitian sosio legal dipilih karena dalam penelitian ini akan dilihat teks dan konsteksnya, juga akan dilihat bagaimana implementasi dan relasi antara UU dengan masyarakat sekitar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan di DPRD di Provinsi Jawa Timur terdapat 15 perempuan dari 100 anggota, laki laki 85, sehingga representasi perempuan sebesar 15%.  Kota Surabaya mempunyai representasi 34% (17 dari 50), Madiun 33,3%, Kediri 33,3%, Probolinggo 33,3%, Sampang 2,2%, Pasuruan  3,3% ( 1 dari 30) serta  Bangkalan 0%. Faktor utama rendahnya representasi adalah budaya patriarkhi yang berkelindan diantara stakeholder, yaitu Partai Politik, perempuan dan masyarakat pemilih

Abstract

Solid-liquid mass transfer data is very necessary for the design of mass transfer equipment, in which the coefficient determination is influenced by the rotation speed and diameter of the stirrer. Thus, this study aims to investigate the effect of variations in stirring speed and stirrer diameter on the mass transfer coefficient of a solid-liquid system. This research was conducted in a stainlesssteel stirred vessel with a diameter of 5 – 19.5 cm and a height of 20 cm equipped with baffles. The alum used was sized to pass a 20mesh sieve and retained by a 30mesh sieve. Alum was then put into a vessel with water as a solvent and stirred with stirring speed varies from 100-500 rpm. Every 10 seconds, 5 ml of sample was taken to analyze the concentration of alum by measuring its density. This experiment was carried out with variations in the speed of the stirrer rotation and the diameter of the stirrer with a constant D/Dt ratio. The result showed that there is a relationship between the mass transfer coefficient with the variables studied for the alum-water granular system in a stirred tank. The calculation results show an average deviation error of 0.66%. The dimensionless equation can be used to accurately evaluate the mass transfer coefficient experiment.

Abstract

Basil (Ocimum sanctum) is the largest basil species in the whole world, its leaves have many chemical contents and one of them is oil. The oil content in basil leaves can be used as a material in research for the synthesis of alkyd resin. Alkyd resin is a polyester product from condensation polymerization of three monomers, namely polyols, polybasic acids, and fatty acids or triglyceride oil. The manufacturing process uses two methods, namely alcoholysis, and esterification. Alcoholysis begins with reacting essential oils and glycerin, while the esterification is the process of mixing phthalic anhydrate into a batch reactor containing an alcoholysis product. The variables used in this study are the comparison between the amount of oil and the amount of glycerin with the research point starting at 1: 2, 1: 3, 1: 4, 1: 5, and 1: 6 and analysis its viscosity, acid number, iodic number, and color. The results obtained in the analysis show that 1: 5 is more effective to be used for further research because the compatibility of the results with the reference value. The results obtained were viscosity 30139.5 cP, acid number 7,4628 mg / g, iodine number 6.90915 mg / g, and dark yellow color. Key words: alkyd resin, basil, and essential oil

Abstract

Yams (Ipomoea batatas L.) or also known as sweet potato is a plant that is included in the types of crops. This plant contains high amount of antioxidants and beta carotene which is a compound that gives sweet potato an orange color. At this time, the utilization of dyes increases along with the development of food industry, especially synthetic dyes. Therefore, natural dyes are needed as an alternative to synthetic dyes. One material that has potential to be used is sweet potato which has high beta carotene content. This study aims to determine the extraction method of beta carotene from sweet potatoes and find the optimum conditions in the extraction process. As much as 50 grams of sweet potatoes extracted with ethanol solvent. The extraction temperature and extraction time were varied between 60-90 °C and 60-180 minutes, respectively. The optimum results obtained with the operating conditions of extraction temperature of 80°C (the amount of extracted beta carotene was 2227.8305 μg /50g) and the extraction time of 120 minutes (the amount of extracted beta carotene was 2868. 003 μg /50g). It is expected that the results of this study can be used as an alternative to replace synthetic dyes. Keywords: yellow sweet potato, betacarotene, coloring agents, ethanol.

Abstract

The research has been conducted to make chitosan from shrimp shell with extraction using microwave. Microwave is a source of energy for heating and as a catalyst in a chemical reaction. The use of microwaves has advantages, namely short processing time, energy efficiency, easy process control, and produces good quality results. Isolation of chitin is done through three stages, namely demineralization, deproteination, and deacetylation. The process of deacetylation of chitin was done by varying heating time 3, 7, 11, and 15 minutes and varying NaOH concentration 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. 1:20 (mass/volume) of chitin were mixed with NaOH at the stage of deacetylation. The mixture put into the apparatus microwave in constant temperature at 60oC. Chitosan was washed until neutral and then was dried in oven until the mass was constant. The characterization was carried out using the Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) instrument and then the degree of deacetylation was calculated. The results that showed the degree of deacetylation is 69,7954%, water content 1.90%, and ash content 0.16% was achieved at reaction time in 3 minutes and NaOH concentration in 50%. Abstract

Seaweed as one of the leading commodities of the Gunungkidul Regency Government, is currently partly processed into crispy seaweed processed food by MSMEs ORA FOOD. To produce industrial-scale seaweed quality, proper handling is needed from the harvesting process to post-harvest processing. One of the processes that needs to be improved is the washing method, harvesting drying, the process of slicing processed seaweed, the process of processing waste into biogas fuel, as well as the marketing process. Washing technology using sustainable washing equipment is the right choice for MSMEs ora food. The seaweed washer uses a drive motor instead of a manual washing tool. This joint activity with partners is the framework of the PKM Grant program from the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 2022 funding year. In this activity, partners were given assistance in solutions to their problems in the form of seaweed washing machines with simple technology, seaweed slicer racks, seaweed drying machines, and biomirue digesters as a means of processing seaweed waste, as well as promotional media through the Shopee e-commerse account. In this activity, 10 MBKM students were included who were recognized for 10 credits in one year of implementing the Community Partnership Program. Abstract

Potensi alam harus dimanfaatkan untuk menunjang keberlangsungan hidup masyarakat sekitar. Potensi ini bisa dinikmati oleh khalayak umum salah satunya keindahan alam yang berada di daerah tersebut. Keindahan alam yang dikelola menjadi tempat wisata dengan baik akan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat sekitar dan pemerintah desa. Salah satu desa yang memiliki keindahan alam adalah Desa Jemur. Desa Jemur memiliki keindahan alam salah satunya adalah sungai Lukulo dan terdapat Areal Bendung Intake Kedungsamak. Pada sekitar Areal Bendung Intake Kedungsamak sempat dijadikan sebagai tempat rekreasi keluarga yang diberi nama Pesona Jemur Indah. Setelah beberapa bulan beroperasi dan sempat ramai pengunjung ternyata tempat rekreasi tersebut harus berhenti karena pandemi COVID-19 dan berdampak sampai sekarang. Akibatnya tempat tersebut tidak ada yang mengelola sehingga menjadi terbengkalai. Solusi yang bisa dilakukan oleh tim KKN 147 UNS dengan melakukan “Revitalisasi Pesona Jemur Indah sebagai Upaya Mengembalikan Nilai Estetika dan Keberfungsian Taman” yang dibantu oleh Pemerintah Desa Jemur, Ikatan Pelajar Nahdlatul Ulama (IPNU), Ikatan Pelajar Putri Nahdlatul Ulama (IPPNU), dan seorang ahli taman. Metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan meliputi; survei dan koordinasi, persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan taman menjadi bersih dari sampah serta terdapat berbagai tanaman yang menghiasi taman .

Abstract

Thinking ability is one of the skills that must be had by all people in facing the demands of the 21st century, namely critical thinking skills. This skill can be achieved by delivering the material more clear and objective. Thus, the purpose of this study is to know the effect of implementing blended PjBL integrated 21st century skills on students’ critical thinking skills. The sample of this study amounted to 39 students in the fifth semester of Biology Education at IAIN Palangka Raya with a non-equivalent control group design. The accumulation data of critical thinking skills was obtained by giving 20 items in the critical thinking domain in the form of pretest and posttest questions. The implementation of blended PjBL integrated 21st century skills is quite effective in the high-level class experimental class group, with the acquisition of N-gain = 56.75. This is reinforced by the results of hypothesis testing with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 0.05. It can be concluded that the implementation of blended PjBL integrated 21st century skills has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. The findings of this study is an alternative integrative model innovation between blended PjBL and 21st century skills-based on student skill level

Abstract

The problems experienced by vulnerable groups, especially people with disabilities, pose a challenge to conducting in-depth studies to produce innovative solutions. This article examines the inclusive education model as a strategy for fulfilling the educational rights of people with disabilities implemented in Islamic boarding schools. This article aims to determine how inclusive education is implemented in Islamic boarding schools, what strategies are used, and the implications of inclusive education in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used is qualitative research using secondary data sources, such as the primary data obtained from interviews with the caretaker of the Nurul Maksum inclusive Islamic boarding school on the YouTube channel: Sahabat Santri Mengabdi. The second secondary data source comes from journal articles and books relevant to the research theme. The results of the study show that the inclusive education model implemented in Islamic boarding schools uses an Islamic approach with an emphasis on patience, sincerity, and Lillahitaala. The implementation of inclusive education prioritises the needs of students with disabilities, especially in learning to read and memorise the Quran. This study contributes to the development of fulfilling the right to education for people with disabilities, which can be implemented in Islamic boarding schools using special methods.
