Abstract

This study examines the determinants of profitability within Indonesia's food and beverage industry, specifically analyzing the role of firm size, liquidity, efficiency, leverage, and market power. Utilizing data from 24 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018-2022, the research employs multiple linear regression analysis to investigate these factors' impact on profitability, as indicated by Return On Assets (ROA). Results reveal that firm size, liquidity, efficiency, leverage, and market power collectively influence profitability, with market power emerging as the most significant determinant. While firm size and efficiency are positively associated with profitability, leverage negatively impacts it, and liquidity does not significantly affect it. The study's findings highlight the importance of strategic market positioning, operational efficiency, and prudent financial management in enhancing profitability.

This research aims to find out and analyze the influence of Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Non-Performing Financing (NPF), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Operating Expense of Operating Income (OEOI) on Profitability in Sharia Commercial Banks in Indonesian in the period 2011-2020. This type of research is explanatory research and uses a quantitative approach. The population and sample of this study is the Indonesian Sharia Commercial Bank registered with the Financial Services Authority for the period 2011-2020, as many as 14 companies with saturated sampling techniques. The study used multiple regression analysis methods, classical assumption tests, and F and t hypothesis tests. The results of hypothesis testing showed that the four variables significantly influenced the profitability of Sharia commercial banks. Partially, the results of the hypothesis test showed that the variables Financing to Deposit Ratio and Non-Performing Financing had a negative and insignificant Influence on the Profitability of  Sharia Commercial Banks, the Capital Adequacy Ratio had a positive and insignificant Influence on the Probability of  Sharia Commercial Banks, and Operating Expenses of Operating Income negatively and significantly on the Profitability of  Sharia Commercial Banks. This study supports the results of Wahyudi & Kartikasari (2021), Ningsih & Dewi (2020), Aprilia & Soebroto (2020), and Yusuf (2017) and this study does not support the results of Devi (2021), Dewi (2020), and Marginingsih (2018).

Abstract

Inadequate protein consumption is characterized by a low intake of energy and proteinous foods, leading to stunted growth and negative public health outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors influencing consumer behavior in purchasing animal and vegetable proteinous foods in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY), as well as to analyze the relationship between protein consumption and these influentialfactors. A quantitative design was used along with a survey approach, involving both primary and secondary data. The study participants were selected using a non-probability sampling method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, literature studies, and documentations. Multiple linear regression analysis, including covariate tests, was then used for analysis. The results of the research showed that household income, the income of women, the number of family members, the number of children under the age of five, the age of women, and the distance from the house to the nearest shop/minimarket had a significant impact on protein consumption among households with stunted children in DIY. Furthermore, Gunung Kidul, Kulon Progo, and Sleman districts had protein consumption of <1 million Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), while Bantul Regency and Yogyakarta Municipality were >1 million IDR.
