Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of guided discovery in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population in this study was all students of grade VIII of SMP Tri Sukses in academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 85 students which were distributed into four classes, they were VIII A until VIII D. The samples of this research were students of VIII A as many as 20 students and VIII C as many as 22 students which were taken by cluster random sampling technique. This research  was used non equivalent control group design. The data of this research was obtained from student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics data. The data analysis of this  research use d t-test. Based on the results and discussion, guided discovery model influenced to student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics.Keyword:  student’s conceptual understanding of mathematics, guided discovery, influence Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model penemuan terbimbing terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Tri Sukses Natar tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 85 peserta didik yang terdistribusi dalam empat kelas, yakni VIII A hingga VIII D.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII A sebanyak 20 siswa dan VIII C sebanyak 22 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan non equivalent control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dari data pemahaman konsep matematis. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji- t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, model penemuan terbimbing berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematais.Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis, penemuan terbimbing, pengaruh

Abstract

This quasi experiment was aimed to find out the effectiveness of problem based learning model towards student’s matemathical communication skill. The population of this research was all of eight grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gading Rejo in academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 218 students that were distributed into 7 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII5as many as 32 studentsand VIII3class as many as 30 students that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design of this reserch was the static-group pretest-posttest grup design. The analysis data which used was Mann-Whitney U test  and proportion test. According of this result so that problem based learning is not effective towards student’s mathematical communication skill. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan minat siswa terhadap matematika dan hubungannya dengan metode pembelajaran dan efikasi diri. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa sekolah menengah pertama di Bandarlampung. Penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif ini mempelajari 691 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa data minat siswa terhadap matematika (Y), data implementasi metode pembelajaran (X1), dan data efikasi diri siswa (X2) yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik non-tes berupa angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis korelasi dan regresi linier berganda dengan . Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: (i) secara umum 22,58% siswa memiliki minat terhadap matematika dengan kategori tinggi, 76,56% dengan kategori sedang, dan 0,86% dalam kategori rendah; (ii) terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat kuat antara variabel implementasi metode pembelajaran dan efikasi diri secara bersama-sama terhadap variabel minat dengan nilai r = 0,844; (iii) terdapat hubungan positif yang cukup kuat antara implementasi metode pembelajaran dengan minat terhadap matematika bila peran efikasi diri tidak berubah (tetap) dengan r = 0,505; (iv) terdapat hubungan positif yang cukup kuat antara efikasi diri dengan minat terhadap matematika bila peran implementasi metode tidak berubah (tetap) dengan r = 0,585; dan (v) persamaan model regresi liniernya adalah Y = 22,788+0,972 X1+0,932 X2.

Abstract

This correlational research was aimed to find out whether there is a positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding of students who was  taught by direct instructinand STAD model. The population of this research was all students of grade eighth of a Public Junior High School in Lampung Selatan. By cluster random sampling technique, there were two classes of research sample. The test method was applied to collect the data. The instruments of this research were GEFT and test of mathematical conceptual understanding of line equation material. Based on the result of hypotesis test, it was concluded that (1) there is a positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding on students who was taught by direct learning model and (2) there is no positive correlation between field dependent cognitive style and mathematical conceptual understanding on students who was taught by STAD learning model. This result implies that learning model affects mathematical conceptual understanding of student who has field dependent cognitive style. Abstract

The development of this thinking ability through education, with education students can make the best use of the information they have. The observation results show that most of the teachers have not used HOTS-based assessments. This is very concerning because students are only fed by learning with the old pattern, namely students are only learning objects with the lecture method. The aim of the training is to increase teachers' understanding of assessment, increase teachers' understanding of the HOTS-based assessment concept and efforts to improve teachers' skills in developing in learning evaluation. Training methods Lectures and demonstrations. The success of the implementation of this training is determined based on pre-test and post-test data using a Likert scale. The results of increasing the pre-test and post-test scores in this community service activity show the criteria of "very good" which means that there is an influence of the activity on the ability of junior high school teachers in preparing HOTS-based assessments.

Abstract

Online learning is a learning interaction solution during the Covid-19 Pandemic. A Learning Management System (LMS) is essential to facilitate the implementation of online learning. Teachers can use many LMS. Schoology and Google Classroom are LMS that teachers can use in online learning. However, the facts show that most junior high school teachers need help utilizing Schoology and Google classrooms in online learning. Therefore, technical guidance activities are carried out to increase teacher knowledge, understanding, and skills in utilizing Schoology and google classroom in online learning. The method used in this activity is job training, divided into off and on-the-job training. Off-the-job training is carried out to increase teachers' knowledge and understanding of the use of Schoology and google classroom in online learning. The resulting output is an increase in teacher knowledge and experience as indicated by the n-gain between the scores before (pretest) and after (posttest) attending the training. On-the-job training is carried out to improve the skills of teachers in utilizing Schoology and google classroom in online learning. The results of this activity show an increase in teacher knowledge, understanding, and skills in using Schoology and google classroom in online learning.

Abstract

Teachers' understanding and skills in developing teaching materials are absolute requirements that teachers must have. In reality, the understanding and skills of junior high school mathematics teachers in South Lampung in developing teaching materials, especially geometry, are still low. This has implications for the low quality of learning which has an impact on students' low geometry abilities. One of the geometric materials is circles. The teacher views that circle material only contains a collection of formulas so that learning is mechanistic and dogmatic. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out training to improve the understanding and skills of junior high school mathematics teachers in South Lampung in developing circle teaching materials. This activity involved 26 junior high school mathematics teachers in South Lampung as participants. This training method takes the form of presenting material and workshops. Activities are carried out through presentation of material, discussion, group work and presentation of work results. Activity data is in the form of teacher understanding and skill scores in developing circle teaching materials obtained through pretest and posttest. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The results of data analysis show that as many as 80% of teachers have initial understanding and skills that are not yet good. After attending the training, as many as 96.15% of teachers had relatively high levels of understanding and skills. Thus, this training is effective in increasing teachers' understanding and skills in developing circle teaching materials.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka berhubungan erat dengan proses pengarahan dalam sebuah pendidikan. Perubahan Kurikulum merdeka memberikan ruang bagi guru untuk beradaptasi dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran di kelas. hasil supervisi perencanaan pada sekolah yang diteliti mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal pada setiap guru, tentu akan berbeda pada pelaksanaan ketika ditinjau dari guru yang memiliki pengalaman lebih lama dan guru yang masuk di dunia pendidikan beberapa tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas pengajaran guru dalam kurikulum merdeka melalui instrumen penilaian guru pada saat pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak dua orang guru, yakni guru senior dan guru junior yang mengajar di kelas X dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan melalui lembar observasi penilaian guru di kelas dengan waktu yang berbeda, Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan dan menyeleksi data dari lembar observasi penilaian berdasarkan aspek yang diamati, kemudian menggambarkan dan menyimpulkan hasilnya untuk menjawab permasalahan yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Guru senior maupun guru junior memiliki performa yang sangat baik dalam penerapan proses pembelajaran. Namun demikian, terdapat perbedaan skor antara keduanya. Guru senior memiliki nilai yang cukup sebesar 68,2 pada aspek “Pemanfaatan sumber belajar atau media pembelajaran” sedangkan pada guru junior dalam aspek penerapan program pembelajaran dengan skor 72 dengan predikat Cukup. Meskipun kedua guru memperoleh predikat baik, refleksi terhadap hasil supervisi dapat menjadi landasan untuk terus meningkatkan aspek-aspek tertentu guna mencapai standar yang lebih tinggi dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

The Effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning Model Viewed from the Students' Understanding of Mathematical Concepts. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in terms of students' understanding mathematical concepts. The population of this study was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Natar in the even semester of the academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 126 students that distributed into four classes. Two classes were randomly taken as samples with one class as the experimental class and one class as the control class. This study used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained through a essay test of the comparison. Data analysis of this research used . The results showed the increasing ofstudents’ understanding of mathematical concepts who took PBL was higher than increasing of students’ understanding of mathematical concepts of who took conventional learning, but the proportion of students who had a well-defined mathematical concept was not more than 60% of students who took PBL. Abstract

The Effectiveness of Two Stay Two Stray Model on Students’ Mathematical Communication Skill. This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of two stay two stray model on students’ mathematical communication skill. The population in this research was all students of grade 7th of SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2018/2019 that consist of 352 students and distributed into eleven classes. Through cluster random sampling technique, VII H consist of 32 students and VII J consist of 32 students were chosen as the research sample. This research used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by the essay test of mathematical communication skill on topic of ratio. Analysis of research data used the Mann-Whitney u test and z test.
