Abstract

In this research, zero-valent iron (ZVI) was synthesized from kepok banana peels extracts as reducing agent. The fourier transform infrared spectrum showed a clear peak at a wavenumber of 600 cm-1 that could be assigned to Fe-O bond. XRD measurement results prove that ZVI has been successfully formed. The resulting ZVI particles are spherical granules with heterogeneous sizes and close together or agglomerating. Based on the results, it was found that the optimum ratio between FeSO4 and polyphenols for ZVI preparation is 4 : 1. Based on the particle size distribution analysis, it was shown that the optimum feeding temperature and time for ZVI synthesis were 25 oC and 30 minutes, respectively.

Abstract

This study focused on characterizing synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and evaluating their efficacy as colorimetric detectors for heavy metal ions. The synthesis employed a bottom-up approach, using AgNO3 as a precursor, reduced by secondary metabolites in basil leaf extract, enhanced with Polyacrylic acid (PAA). Basil leaves were chosen for their rich content of secondary metabolites like phytosterols, alkaloids, phenolic compounds, tannins, lignin, starch, saponins, flavonoids, terpenoids, and anthraquinones, crucial in reducing silver ions. Incorporating basil leaf extract as a bioreactor and adding PAA to increase stability and selectivity towards metal ions are innovative aspects of this research. The optimal AgNP composition was attained with a 0.7 mL basil leaf extract to 10 mL AgNO3 ratio plus 2% PAA. The AgNP formation was indicated by a color change from yellow to brownish, with a Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) peak at 418 nm. Characterization via Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) revealed hydroxyl (-OH) and carbonyl (C=O) functional groups aiding in silver ion reduction. Particle Size Analysis (PSA) showed AgNPs of 72.3 nm size, with a polydispersity index of 0.504. Colorimetric detection tests were conducted on Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), and Mn(II) ions. AgNPs exhibited high reactivity towards Cu2+, changing color from brownish to clear white within a minute upon Cu2+ addition, unlike Cd2+, Mn2+, Zn2+, and Pb2+, which showed negligible changes. This indicates a heightened sensitivity of AgNPs to Cu2+ ions. Such a colorimetric sensor could be instrumental in detecting heavy metals in drinking water, showcasing the potential application of AgNPs in environmental monitoring.

Abstract

This purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between cognitive load and understanding students' concepts in salt hydrolysis material. The subjects were 96 students of class XI MIA 1, XI MIA 6 and XI MIA 7 at SMAN 2 Cibinong. Research conducted based on the problem of a person's ability to receive and process information that exceeds the required memory capacity will increase cognitive load. The method used in this study is descriptive correlational. The results of the hypothesis with Spearman Rank obtained a significant negative relationship for salt hydrolysis material, so it can be concluded that low cognitive load will generate a high understanding of concepts. Abstract

This study aims to find out the misconceptions that occur in buffer solution materials using two-tier diagnostic tests instrument. The instrument was developed based on the buffer solution material competency indicators into 10 questions and was declared valid for use. The research was conducted on level I and III college students and students totaling 159. The results showed that there was a misconception on the concept of buffer solution properties of 24.6%, the concept of buffer solution composition was 24.1%, the working principle of buffer solution was 29.3 %, and the concept of pH solution is 25.4%. he cause of the misconception is because the initial concept of the respondent is weak, the teacher's explanation often simplifies the concept, the habit of the respondent to memorize, understanding the language and weak mathematical concepts, and learning models that have not provided the opportunity for respondents to understand the components and principles of working buffer solutions microscopically. Knowledge of misconceptions is needed as an evaluation of teachers and lecturers to be more motivated to implement learning models that are able to overcome misconceptions to prevent wider misconceptions in learning chemistry that make chemistry difficult. Abstract

This study was aimed to develop students’ conceptual understanding in material “electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution” using 8E Learning Cycle model. The study involved 36 students in 10th grader of Math and Science Studies senior high school in Jakarta. Data collection techniques used was interview, concept understanding test, reflective journal and students’ worksheet. Based on the research, the result shows that by using 8E Learning Cycle model , the students’ understanding toward the concepts in sub-material of the solution characteristics and the nature of the solution are increased. Referring to the graph, students’ concept understanding increased to 96% in the sub-material of the characteristics of the solution. Besides, the students’ understanding toward sub-material of the nature of solution increased to 80%. The biggest misconception occurs at the explore stage, this is caused by the students initial knowledge. Students are able to group the electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions correctly based on the ionization of the solution, but the students are not able to connect the electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions to the type of bond. In learning process, 8E learning cycle model is not only used as instrumental in developing students' concepts understanding, but also this model plays a role in developing the students’ communication skill and collaboration skill in chemistry learning. Abstract

Drug compounding in community pharmacy is an important process in providing drugs according to patient needs. Poor compounding practices can pose serious health and safety risks. To improve the quality of compounds used in medicinal preparations, Pharmacists need to increase their knowledge and Good Compounding Practice (GCP). This study aimed to analyze the application knowledge of pharmacists regarding GCP of non-sterile preparations in Central Jakarta Regional Pharmacies. This type of research is observational research using cross-sectional descriptive methods. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire distributed to 82 pharmacy practitioners working in the pharmacy community and using a structured questionnaire to evaluate the level of knowledge and implementation of GCP. The data analysis technique used is chi-square. Most of the Pharmacy Practitioners had good knowledge scores (71.95%). Meanwhile, the level of implementation of GCP has a good implementation value (82.92%). Good knowledge and implementation of Good Compounding Practice is very important to maintain the integrity and safety of drugs produced in compounding practices. This must be implemented in the training and education of pharmaceutical practitioners to help maintain the quality of safe and effective drug compounding practices.

Abstract

Perkembangan penerapan bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.)  pada pengolahan makanan belum banyak dimanfaatkan. Upaya yang mungkin dilakukan adalah penggunaan bunga telang sebagai pewarna biru alami dalam produksi es krim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung bunga telang  terhadap nilai fisik (overrun dan resistensi pelelehan) es krim.  Penelitaian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan (0%, 5%,10% dan 15% penambahan tepung bunga telang) dan 3 kali ulangan. Parameter yang diukur yaitu overrun dan resistensi pelelehanHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung bunga telang pada es krim berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap overrun dan resistensi pelelehan. Nilai overrun dan resitensi tertinggi pada perlakuan yaitu pada penambahan 15% tepung bunga telang. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu peningkatan konsentrasi penambahan tepung bunga telang dalam pembuatan es krim menyebabkan overrum es krim bunga telang meningkat dan memperlambat daya lelehnya.

Abstract

Hipertensi menjadi masalah kesehatan the silent killer karena tidak terdapat terdapat tanda-tanda atau gejala yang dapat dilihat dari luar dan merupakan penyebab utama dari kematian kardiovaskular. Berdasarkan data Poli Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Umum Tingkat II Iskandar Muda pada tahun 2020 jumlah pasien yang mengalami hipertensi sebanyak 562 kasus dan tahun 2021 yaitu sebanyak 602 kasus. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Hubungan Perokok dan Riwayat Keluarga dengan Kejadian Hipertensi Pada Pasien Di Poli Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Tingkat II Iskandar Muda Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional, populasi penelitian diperoleh pada saat pengumpulan data penelitian sebanyak 89 orang dan sampel dengan yang sesuai kriteria diambil secara accidental sampling sebanyak 68 orang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner dengan cara wawancara. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan dari tanggal 6 - 10 Juni 2022 di Poli Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Tingkat II Iskandar Muda Banda Aceh. Analisis data secara univariat bivariat. Hasil penelitian analisis univariat diperoleh dari 68 responden yang mengalami hipertensi sebanyak 51 (75.0%), responden yang merokok sebanyak 52 (76.4%) dan responden yang memiliki riwayat keluarga mengalami hipertensi sebanyak 53 (77.9%). Analisis bivariat variabel perokok (p-value = 0.024), dan riwayat keluarga (p-value = 0.000). Kesimpulan penelitian ini ada hubungan yang signifikan antara perokok dan riwayat keluarga dengan kejadian hipertensi pada pasien Di Poli Penyakit Dalam Rumah Sakit Tingkat II Iskandar Muda Banda Aceh. Saran bagi petugas kesehatan dapat memberikan penanganan secara tepat bagi pasien penderita hipertensi dan memberikan edukasi kepada seluruh pasien yang berkunjung ke poli penyakit dalam tentang bahaya hipertensi dan merubah kebiasaan tidak baik menjadi perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat agar terhindar dari penyakit hipertensi.Kata Kunci    : hipertensi, perokok, riwayat keluargaHypertension is a health problem, the silent killer because there are no signs or symptoms that can be seen from the outside and is the main cause of cardiovascular death. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between smokers and family history with the incidence of hypertension in patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic, Iskandar Muda Hospital, Banda Aceh. Analytical research method with a cross sectional approach, the research population obtained at the time of collecting research data as many as 89 people and samples with the appropriate criteria were taken by accidental sampling as many as 68 people. The research instrument used a questionnaire by means of interviews. The data collection of this research was carried out from 6 - 10 June 2022 at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of the Iskandar Muda Hospital, Banda Aceh. Data analysis was univariate bivariate. The results of the univariate analysis were obtained from 68 respondents who had hypertension as many as 51 (75.0%), respondents who smoked as many as 52 (76.4%) and respondents who had a family history of hypertension as many as 53 (77.9%). Bivariate analysis of smoking variables (p-value = 0.024), and family history (p-value = 0.000). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between smokers and family history with the incidence of hypertension in patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic, Iskandar Muda Hospital, Banda Aceh. Suggestions for health workers can provide appropriate treatment for patients with hypertension and provide education to all patients who visit the internal medicine clinic about the dangers of hypertension and change bad habits into clean and healthy living behavior to avoid hypertension.Keywords: hypertension, smoker, family history

Abstract

Chemistry is the science that studies matter, its properties, structure, changes or reactions, and the energy accompanying those changes. Aiming to enhance scientific abilities and critical and creative thinking, it is important to be studied in high school. Environmental issues often arise when concepts are applied in practice. Therefore, the community service program activities in MGMP South Jakarta 2 are here to assist chemistry teachers in applying the principles of green chemistry in chemistry practicals. The implementation method for this electrochemistry practical development program is carried out through training through material presentation, demonstrations, and practice. The questionnaire filled out by the chemistry teachers is used to collect data and as material for evaluating activities. This activity is expected to assist chemistry teachers in the MGMP Jakarta Selatan 2 in applying the principles of green chemistry and to raise public awareness about the importance of reducing hazardous waste that impacts both humans and the environment. Abstrak Kimia merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari mengenai materi, sifat, struktur, perubahan atau reaksinya serta energi yang menyertai perubahan tersebut. Bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan ilmiah serta pola pikir kritis dan kreatif, penting untuk dipelajari di sekolah menengah atas. Masalah lingkungan seringkali muncul saat konsep diterapkan dalam praktikum. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan program pengabdian masyarakat di MGMP Jakarta Selatan 2 ini hadir untuk membantu guru bidang kimia menerapkan prinsip green chemistry dalam praktikum kimia. Metode pelaksanaan program pengembangan praktikum elektrokimia ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan melalui pemaparan materi, demonstrasi, dan praktik. Kuesioner yang diisi oleh guru kimia digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dan sebagai bahan evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu membantu guru bidang kimia di MGMP Jakarta Selatan 2 menerapkan prinsip green chemistry dan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya mengurangi limbah berbahaya yang berdampak pada manusia dan lingkungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam pengelolaan administrasi kelas. Penelitian dilakukan dengan dua siklus dengan 4 (empat) tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian guru kelas I, II, III, IV, V dan VI di SDN 205/IX sengeti Teknik pengumpulan data melalui kegiatan observasi kelas dan penilaian kelengkapan administrasi masing-masing guru kelas. Teknik analisa data yang menjadi pedoman pengolahan data dengan menggunakan prosentase (%) pencapaian dengan konstanta 100. Dan untuk melihat interpertasi dengan menggunakan kriteria interpertasi skor untuk memperkuat penafsiran dalam kesimpulan sebagai berikut: 80% - 100% (Baik Sekali), 66% - 79% ( Baik), 56% - 65% (Cukup), dan 40% - 55% (Kurang). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam menyusun administrasi kelas di SDN 205/IX Sengeti meningkat pada setiap siklusnya berdasarkan penilaian terhadap kelengkapan administrasi kelas dari 41,97 pada kondisi awal menjadi 60,94 pada siklus pertam dan 85,65 pada siklus kedua. Kesimpulannya adalah pelaksanaan supervisi kelas terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru di SDN 205/IX Sengeti pada pengelolaan administrasi kelas.
