Abstract

Banana peel can be used as an alternative feed based on the potential availability and nutritional. The experiments were conducted to improve the nutrient quality of Banana Peel and Tofu Waste mixture (BPTW) by using Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Neurospora crassa. This substrate consists of banana peel 70% and tofu waste 30%. The experiment was performed in 3 treatment completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 replicates. The treatments were : A= fermentation BPTW by Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Neurospora crassa (1:1), B = fermentation BPTW by Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Neurospora crassa (2:1), and C = fermentation BPTW by Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Neurospora crassa (1:2). Measured variables were Crude Fiber (CF), Crude Protein (CP), Nitrogen Retention and CF digestion. The result of the research showed that the treatment affected significantly (p<0.01) reduced CF and increased CP, nitrogen retention and CF digestion. In conclusion, fermentation by Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Neurospora crassa (2:1) was the best treatment for improving banana peel and tofu waste nutrient quality

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media biakan fermentasi yang berbeda terhadap produksi maggot Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial  3x3 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor A adalah jenis media biakan yang digunakan, yaitu A1 : Ampas kelapa, A2 : Ampas tahu dan A3 : Buah terbuang. Faktor B adalah jenis mikroorganisme yang digunakan, yaitu B1 : EM-4 peternakan, B2 : Natura organic decomposer dan B3 : Probio-7. Peubah yang diamati adalah produksi maggot berat segar (kg), panjang (cm), densitas populasi (ekor/cm3) dan kandungan protein kasar (%). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya interaksi antara faktor A (jenis media) dan faktor B (jenis mikroba) dan memberikan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap berat segar dan kandungan protein kasar maggot, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap panjang dan densitas populasi maggot. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah media biakan ampas tahu yang difermentasi dengan Natura organik  decomposer memberikan hasil yang terbaik, dengan produksi berat segar 0,2215 kg, panjang 2,00 cm, densitas populasi 2,01 ekor/cm3 dan kandungan protein kasar  52,40 %.The Influence of Fermentation Culture Media with Different Microbes on The Production of Maggot Black soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens)ABSTRACT. This study aims to determine the effect of different fermentation culture media on the production of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) maggot. This research used experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) with 3x3 factorial pattern with 3 replications. Factor A was the type of culture medium used, A1: Coconut dregs, A2: Tofu dregs and A3: Wasted fruit. Factor B was the type of microorganism used,B1: EM-4, B2: Natura organic decomposer and B3: Probio-7. The variables observed were maggot production, fresh weight (kg), length (cm), population density (tail/cm3) and crude protein content (%). The results showed that there was an interaction between factor A (type of media) and factor B (type of microbe) and had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on fresh weight and crude protein content of maggot, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the length and density of the maggot population. The conclusion of this research was tofu dregs culture medium fermented with Natura organic decomposer gives the best results, with the production of fresh weight 0.2215 kg, long 2.00 cm, population density 2.01 tails/cm3 and crude protein content 52.40%.

Abstract

This study aims to know how and limits the influence of the bran and dried tofu by-product fermentation (DATF)with monascus purpureus against quails performance. This research using quail japan (Coturnix coturnix japonica) phaselayer was five weeks 200 tail. Research methods used are experimental methods to a draft betatesting random draft complete(RAL) using 4 treatment by DATF different level in rations namely A (0% DATF), B (4% DATF,) C (8% DATF) and D(12 % DATF) by deut five times. Rations arranged iso protein 20% and iso calories 2800 Kcal per kg. Parameters observedare performance (consumption rations (gram/tails/day), the production of eggs (daily quail day productions %), heavy eggs(grams/grains ) the egg mass (gram/tails/day) conversion rations, income overs feeds cost) quails. The result analysis showsdiversity use DATF to 12% in rations level markedly dissimilar exert (P<0,05) against rations, consumption daily, theproduction of eggs and differs very real (P<,01) against heavy eggs the mass of eggs, conversion rations quails. According tothis research result can be concluded that level DATF use products to 12% in rations quails can improve its performancequails. On this condition obtained consumption rations 22,16 grams/tails/day, tails the production of eggs (daily quail day,78% productions) heavy 9,67 grams/grains, eggs the egg mass 4,98 grams/tails/day, tail conversion rations 4,44, incomeovers feeds cost Rp. 108,34

Abstract

Tulisan ini dibuat untuk mengetahui potensi, faktor pembatas, dan pengolahan rumput laut coklat (Phaeophyceae) sebagai pakan ayam petelur. Rumput laut coklat (Phaeophyceae) adalah rumput laut yang mengandung pigmen klorofil a, karotin, xanthofil dan fukosantin, pigmen yang dominan adalah fukosantin yang menutupi warna lainnya dan menyebabkan rumput laut ini kelihatan berwarna coklat. Rumput laut coklat memiliki potensi sebagai bahan pakan ayam petelur karena ketersediaan yang melimpah, tidak bersaing dengan kebutuhan manusia, mengandung zat-zat nutrisi, tidak bersifat toksik, kaya asam lemak omega 3, mengandung pigmen fukosantin, alginat dan fukoidan. Faktor pembatas penggunaan rumput laut ini, yaitu 1) Kandungan nutrisi dan kualitas: alginat tinggi, protein rendah, dan energi rendah; 2) Kandungan anti nutrisi: kadar garam tinggi dan phlorotannin; 3) Penanganan dan pengolahan: membutuhkan berbagai pengolahan khusus sebelum digunakan sebagai pakan ternak. Faktor-faktor pembatas tersebut dapat diatasi dengan perlakuan fisik (pencucian, pengeringan, autoklaf, perebusan dan freezing), fermentasi dan penambahan enzim dalam pakan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan ketersediaan zat nutrisi dan mendetoksifikasi senyawa antinutrisi. Rumput laut coklat (Phaeophyceae) memiliki potensi sebagai bahan pakan penyusun ransum ayam petelur.

Abstract

Limbah buah kopi bisa digunakan sebagai pakan alternatif berdasarkan potensi ketersediaannya dan kandungan nutrisinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas nutrisi limbah buah kopi melalui fermentasi dengan Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Metode eksperimen yang digunakan adalah dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3 x 2 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama, dosis inokulum yaitu: 4%, 7% dan 10% dari jumlah substrat. Faktor kedua, lama fermentasi: 7 hari dan 10 hari. Peubah yang diamati adalah protein kasar, serat kasar, retensi nitrogen dan kecernaan serat kasar. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah interaksi antara dosis inokulum 7% dan lama fermentasi dengan Phanerochaete chrysosporium 10 hari dapat menurunkan serat kasar dan meningkatkan protein kasar, retensi nitrogen dan kecernaan serat kasar limbah buah kopi fermentasi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah fermentasi dengan Phanerochaete chrysosporium dengan dosis inokulum 7% dan lama fermentasi 10 hari merupakan perlakuan terbaik untuk peningkatan kualitas nutrisi dari limbah buah kopi.

Abstract

 This research aims to improve the quality of cassava peel waste through fermentation processing with Natura used as alternative feed which reduces the use of corn and   concentrate in feed of laying quail in the grower period. This research consisted of two phases. Phase 1 improvement the quality of cassava peel waste using fermentation technology with Natura, organic decomposer containing multi enzyme, xylanase, beta-glucanase, pectinase, amylase, lipase, protease and phytase and also contain probiotics, Acetobater sp, Bacillus sp, Lactobacillus sp,  Streptomyces sp,  Aspergillus sp, Sacaromyces sp, and Trichoderma sp. Phase 2: the best fermented cassava peel waste experiment at phase 1 (using completely randomized factorial design consisted of 3x3 with 3 replications: 3 levels of  Natura dose; 1, 2, and 3% and 3 levels of fermentation length; 7, 11, and 15 days) to the performance of laying quail in the grower period. The research methods at phase 2 used experimental method with completely randomized design (4 treatments and 5 replications): 0%, 4%, 8%, 12% and 16% of fermented cassava peel waste in the feed of laying quail in grower period (1-4 weeks). The best result in phase 1 was treatment with dose of 3% and 11 days of fermentation length with crude protein content: 14.14%, nitrogen retention: 62.90), crude fiber digestibility (47.58%) and crude fiber content (11.34%). The result of phase 2 was that the addition of fermented cassava peel waste 16% in the feed of laying quail in grower period gave a significantly higher effect on feed consumption, weight gain, and significantly had the lowest feed conversion compared to other treatments. Conclusion, that 3% Natura inoculum dose with 11 days of fermentation was the best treatment to increase the content and quality of cassava peel waste nutrient. The addition of fermented cassava waste with Natura up to 16% in feed could maintain the performance of  laying quail in grower period, also reduced the use of corn 10% and concentrate 12% in feed.
