Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the mind style of students in solving mathematics problem at trigonometry material. The research was conducted in one of high school in Karawang district for 33 students in class XI IPA 1. Data’s collection of this research was obtained by giving mind style’s delineator, mathematics problem’s test, and interview. The subjects of this research were 4 students whom selected by using purposive sampling technique as the representation of each type of mind style. The data analysis of this research was using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model through the stages of data’s reduction, data’s display, and verification. The results of this research showed that there were 7 students had Concrete Sequential’s mind style, 6 students had Abstract Sequential’s mind style, 14 students had Concrete Random’s mind style, and 6 other students had Abstract Random’s mind style. Therefore, it can be concluded that the dominant’s mind style of students in XI IPA 1 was Abstract Random’s mind style.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan self-efficacy matematis terhadap siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 1 Kedung Waringin dalam pembelajaran matematika yang ditinjau berdasarkan gendernya. Self-efficacy matematis erat kaitannya dengan individu terhadap kemampuan yang dimiliki dalam memecahkan suatu masalah, Self-efficacy matematis atau efikasi diri memiliki peranan besar dalam banyak hal, salah satunya adalah dalam pembelajaran matematika, dengan kemampuan efikasi diri yang tinggi siswa dapat dengan mudah memecahkan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah penelitian yang menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui angket Self-efficacy matematis yang dilakukan terhadap subjek siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 1 Kedung waringin kelas IX. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan melalui data angket Self-efficacy matematis, maka diperoleh sebuah hasil sesuai dengan indikator self-efficacy matematis bahwa siswa perempuan lebih unggul dalam : Tindakan untuk menyelesaikan tugas berdasarkan tingkat kesulitannya dan keyakinan individu dalam menyelesaikan tugas, serta keyakinan individu dalam kemampuan yang dimiliki.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa dalam mengungkapkan pemikirannya ke dalam kalimat atau simbol matematika dan bahasa sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah dan menganalisis mengenai kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan persoalan matematika yang berkaitan dengan materi aljabar. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di salah satu satu sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) swasta di Kabupaten Bekasi tahun pelajaran 2022/2023 sebanyak 17 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen soal tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan bentuk uraian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi sistematis siswa masih tergolong rendah dikarenakan hasil nilai tes siswa yang belum mencapai nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) dengan nilai maksimum yaitu 50. Kata kunci : matematika, komunikasi matematis, dan materi aljabar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical reasoning ability of students in one of the State Junior High Schools in Karawang Regency in solving two-variable system of linear equations. The method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class IX E. The data collection technique was carried out by giving a mathematical reasoning ability test sheet in the form of a description of 4 questions. The data analysis technique used in this study is based on Miles and Huberman's data analysis technique which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the test scores of students' mathematical reasoning abilities are classified as very low, because there are only 2 students who achieve the KKM score. Then also indicated by the percentage value there are 2 students with a percentage of 6% in the high category, 23 students with a percentage of 72% in the medium category and 7 students with a percentage of 22% in the low category.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research conducted to describe the completion of numeracy problems and determine the level of numeracy ability of junior high school students. The subjects in this study were 34 students who were grade VIII junior high school students in Ciledug District. The research instrument is a written test with three numeracy ability test description questions where each question contains three indicators of numeracy ability. The results showed that the numeracy ability of junior high school students was still classified as low, because there were 19 students who were only able to meet a maximum of one numeracy ability indicator.  The percentage of numeracy ability test acquisition is 11.76% of students in the high category, 32.35% of students in the medium category, and 55.88% of students have low numeracy ability.
