Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika merupakan aspek yang sangat penting dalam belajar matematika. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa diperlukan suatu strategi yang tepat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran agar hasil belajar siswa lebih optimal. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan menggunakan pendekatan inkuiri dengan tipe jigsaw.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretest-postest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Karawang . Dimana instrumen pengujiannya berupa soal uraian yang memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas yang baik dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Dari keseluruhan proses dapat disimpulkan bahwa menggunaan tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran biasa.

The issue examined in this study was about the low learning outcomes. The focus of the study discussed was the factors that influenced the learning outcomes, which was the learning model. The learning model chosen was the CORE learning model. The purpose of this study was to invetigate the problem of students' achievement of mathematical connection ability between the learning of using the CORE approach and ordinary learning. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a test design of posttest only control group design. Sampling in this study was using simple random sampling. This was done because the sample members were chosen in proportion. This research was conducted to the students of one of the universities in Karawang. The data collection method was a test, the test instrument was included a mathematical connection ability test. Indicators and variables measured in this study were the level of mathematical connection ability which included the posttest value of the mathematical connection ability test. The data were collected then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferencial statistics (t-test). Based on data analysis, the achievement of mathematical connection abilities of the students who studied using CORE learning were better than those who studied using expository learning. The achievement of students' mathematical connection skills in the class who studied using the CORE approach was categorized as high while those in the class who studied using expository learning were categorized as medium. Thus, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in student learning outcomes between the learning using CORE approach and using expository learning.

The present study aimed to identify the effects of metacognitive beliefs on mathematics anxiety encompassed by pre-service mathematics teachers’. The intervention role of factors such as positive beliefs was also examined. For this purpose, a total of sixty college students from the mathematics education program of one of the public universities in Indonesia were investigated through cross-sectional surveys. The data of the research were collected through a students’ self-report measure of metacognitive beliefs and mathematics anxiety. The results reveal that although there is no gender difference in metacognitive beliefs, female students are more anxious in mathematics than male students. There are no year levels of difference in metacognitive beliefs and mathematics anxiety. The result shows that metacognitive beliefs have negatively correlated with math anxiety. This study concludes that developing metacognitive beliefs helps pre-service mathematics teachers to effectively overcome mathematics anxiety. Also, enhancing cognitive confidence and controlling negative beliefs about the uncontrollability of thoughts and danger has implications as a treatment to reduce mathematics anxiety.

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP pada materi lingkaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas IX-A SMP Negeri 2 Telukjambe Timur. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu berupa soal uraian sebanyak enam soal, setiap soal mengacu pada indikator kemampuan representasi matematis. Hasil jawaban siswa dianalisis dan dikelompokkan ke dalam kategori dengan kriteria ketuntasan minimal sekolah (KKM) dan kategori: tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Kemudian dianalisis secara mendalam dengan memilih jawaban lima siswa melalui teknik selective coding. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Telukjambe Timur masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan hampir seluruh siswa kurang mampu memenuhi ketiga indikator kemampuan representasi matematis yang harus dicapai. Pada indikator pertama, yaitu representasi visual terdapat 63,4% siswa yang belum memenuhi ketercapaian indikator. Indikator kedua, yaitu representasi persamaan atau ekspresi matematika terdapat 76,7% siswa yang belum memenuhi ketercapaian indikator. Dan pada indikator ketiga, yaitu representasi verbal terdapat 50% siswa yang belum memenuhi ketercapaian indikator.

Learning mathematics is something that must be done by students because mathematical problem solving ability that obtained from learning process are very necessary in students daily lives. The purpose of this research was to describe mathematical problem solving ability of high school student to solve the linear equations in three variables question. The population of this research was 30 student of 10th grade student of SMA Negeri 1 Klari. The sample of this research was determined by purposive sampling and obtained 6 students with different ability. The data collection was done by giving the test of the mathematical problem solving which had 5 story questions. The result of this research is (1) The student with high problem solving ability could solved the problem given to them though they didn’t check the answers back, (2) The student with medium problem solving ability could also solved the problem given to them though they were not completely understood what was asked on question so mistakes happened at the last part also didn’t check their answers, and (3) The student with low problem solving ability didn’t write down the process as to how they got the answer and also didn’t check back the answer they got. From the results of this research, we know that students mathematical problem solving abilities are still lacking because of that it is necessary to find a way to improve students mathematical problem solving abilities.

Concept understanding is a skill to explore concepts related to mathematics. There are some students who still find it difficult to understand mathematical concepts due to internal and external factors. This study aims to describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts of high school students on the material of Algebraic Function Derivatives. The approach in this study is a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The research subjects that will be used are 32 students of class XII MIPA. The sample selection used was purposive sampling with random sampling of 3 students for high ability, 3 students for medium ability, and 3 students for low ability. Data collection techniques by providing a mathematical concept understanding test. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman technique. The indicators on the ability to understand mathematical concepts are 1) linking various concepts, 2) restate the concept, and 3) the ability to classify objects according to certain characteristics according to the concept. In this study, the percentage of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts, including the first and second indicators, was 87.5% and the third indicator was 3.125%. This can guarantee that the first and second indicators show that students can relate linking various concepts and restate the concept of application for the indicators, indicating that there are still many students who are not able the ability to classify objects according to certain characteristics according to the concept.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi dan penalaran matematis serta disposisi matemamatis siswa. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menelaah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan penalaran matematis serta disposisi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Karawang, sedangkan tempat penelitiannya adalah SMPN 3 Karawang yang dipilih secara acak. Dari kelas yang dipilih secara acak kelas diperoleh 40 orang siswa kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking dan 40 orang siswa kelas kontrol yang memperoleh Pembelajaran langsung. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari instrumen tes kemampuan skala dan observasi. Instrumen yang digunakan berbentuk tes uraian yang telah dilakukan uji coba terlebih dahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking lebih rendah tidak secara signifikan daripada siswa yang menggunakan Pembelajaran langsung dan pencapaian kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking lebih baik daripada siswa yang menggunakan Pembelajaran langsung.Kata kunci : Metaphorical Thinking, Komunikasi Matematis, Penalaran Matematis.

This study aims to examine whether there is an effect of independent learning on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students. This research is a quantitative study with a correlational method. The population in this study were all class VIII students at one of the public schools in Karawang Regency for the 2019/2020 academic year with 1 class being selected as the research sample, namely class VIII C. Data collection techniques were obtained using tests in the form of a description of questions regarding reasoning abilities mathematics, and non-tests in the form of independent learning questionnaires, as well as interviews conducted online. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using a simple linear regression test. Based on the results of data processing, the regression equation is obtained, namely Y = 7.50 + 0.35X with a determination coefficient of 79%. Thus, independent learning has a positive influence on the variable mathematical reasoning ability of students by 79%, and 21% is influenced by other factors that are not included in this simple linear regression analysis. Furthermore, obtained a significance value of 0.00 less than 0.05, then H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be interpreted that there is a significant influence between independent learning on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menelaah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dengan menggunakan metode lesson study dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian posttes only dengan populasi penelitian yaitu mahasiswa salah satu Perguruan Tinggi di Karawang. Instrumen tes mencakup tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis dengan indikator dan variabel yang diukur adalah tingkat kemampuan pemahaman matematis. Data diolah menggunkan Software SPSS versi 22 for Windows, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis mahasiswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model lesson study lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran langsung. Jadi dapat disimpulkan model lesson study dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika khususnya mata kuliah matematika ekonomi.
