Abstract

This research and development will produce an integrated science module with an integrated blended learning model for flood disasters that is valid, practical and effective. Prior to development, it is necessary to analyze the problem. One part of the problem analysis is a needs analysis. This study aims to analyze the need for the development of an integrated science module based on integrated blended learning for flood disasters. The object of this research is the teacher and students who provide responses through a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out with simple statistics, namely percentages and also qualitatively. The results of the study stated that teachers and students agreed that during the pandemic period science learning was carried out using a blended learning model. Teachers and students also agree that science learning is integrated with events in the school environment, one of which is the flood disaster. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that it is necessary to develop an integrated Science Module that helps the implementation of learning during the pandemic and integrates disasters that exist in the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the Geometry of Plane and Space course integrated with the maritime context of the Riau Islands. This research is a solution to problems arising from a need for teaching materials to the characteristics of students in the Mathematics Education Department of UMRAH. The 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate) is used as the research development model. The research has reached the final activity of the Development stage, namely the practicality test of textbooks produced. The instrument used in the practicality test is a practicality questionnaire with a Likert scale. The evaluation results show that the textbooks produced through this development research have met the applicable criteria for use as teaching materials, with an achievement level of 72,85%. Thus, the textbook produced with the title Plane and Space Geometry Textbook has met the practical to use as teaching material in the Geometry of Plane and Space course. Integrating the maritime context of the Riau Islands helps students connect the content of teaching materials with their daily life. It helps them more easily understand the new knowledge.

Abstract

Metacognition refers to the capacity to comprehend and regulate one's own cognitive processes. By cultivating students' metacognitive skills in physics education, they will acquire the ability to understand and govern their own thinking. This, in turn, will enhance the effectiveness of physics instruction by fostering student engagement and enabling them to rectify their own errors. However, previous studies have revealed a scarcity of physics teachers who integrate metacognitive training into their teaching practices. Thus, the aim of this research is to investigate the extent to which high school physics teachers in the Riau Islands Province engage in metacognitive training for their students. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data was collected through interviews conducted with physics teachers from local high schools. This study's participants are physics teachers in the Kepulauan Riau Province. There are a total of 25 physics teachers participating in the study. The sampling technique employed in this research is purposive sampling. During these interviews, the researchers posed open-ended questions to elicit insights into physics teachers' experiences with the cultivation of metacognitive skills in their students during physics lessons. According to the study's findings, physics teachers in the Riau Islands Province are indeed training their students in indicators of metacognitive abilities. However, we observed that some teachers remain unaware that the exercises they assign inherently serve as indicators of metacognitive skills. This lack of awareness is attributed to a deficient understanding among teachers regarding the nature of metacognition.

Abstract

Saat ini perguruan tinggi dihadapkan dengan tantangan dalam menghasilkan lulusan yang memiliki daya saing di dunia kerja. Agar kemampuan tersebut dapat dikuasai oleh lulusan maka diperlukan adanya inovasi yang dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi, tidak terkecuali pada pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh dosen. Salah satu inovasi yang dapat dilakukan oleh dosen dalam pembelajaran yaitu dengan melakukan pengembangan buku ajar yang sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku. Buku ajar juga sangat penting dalam mengatasi keterbatasan frekuensi tatap muka antara dosen dan mahasiswa. Mahasiswa dapat belajar secara mandiri dengan menggunakan buku ajar, terlebih pada kondisi pandemic Covid-19 saat ini. Selain meningkatkan hasil belajar penerapan case method dalam buku ajar ini juga bertujuan mendukung pencapaian IKU perguruan tinggi khususnya IKU 3.2. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan Buku Ajar Belajar dan Pembelajaran berbasis Case Method. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp namun hanya dibatasi 2 tahapan awal yang terdiri dari fase investigasi awal (preliminary research), fase pembuatan prototype (prototyping phase). Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh buku ajar belajar dan pembelajaran berbasis case method yang sangat valid dan sangat praktis.
