Abstract

The title of this research is "Comparison between the use of the Small Group Discussion Method and the PQ4R Method to Improve Students' Ability to Understand Reading at Dayah Darul Ihsan Aceh Besar". The researcher choose this title because most of students face difficulties in understanding what is read when reading the text, and they talk to each other and do not pay attention to the teacher when teaching reading. The cause of this problem is that the teacher does not use the right method in teaching reading skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of the Small Group Discussion Method and the PQ4R Method, and to determine the results of the use of the Small Group Discussion Method and the PQ4R Method in improving students' reading comprehension skills. The population in this study were students of Ma'had Darul Ihsan grade 2 MTsS totaling 256 students. And the samples used were class VIII B (experimental class) which amounted to 33 students, and class VIII C (control class) which amounted to 33 students. The tools used by researchers to collect data are test instruments, namely pre-test and post-test questions, with descriptive statistical data analysis techniques, paired sample T-test, and independent sample T-test, using the SPSS 20 program. And the results This research is the use of the Small Group Discussion method and the PQ4R method effectively to improve students' ability to understand reading. And there is a comparison between the use of the Small Group Discussion method and the PQ4R method to improve students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

The Problems Found by the author when conducting Observation are Darul hasanah Islamic Boarding School students feel bored when hey’re learning Arabic, and they’re also less responsive. Because, Arabic learning doesn’t use  additional book to support learning and doesn’t  use methods and media that are suitable with the subject being studied. The purpose of this study was to determin the responses of students in the use of dictionaries in learning to speak (kalam) and to determin the process of developing speaking skills using the “al-ta’bir al-khas wa uslub al-ma’ashir” dictionary. This study is an experimental researcher with a design one grup pree- post test design and to collect research data using direct observation sheets and tests before conducting experiments and after. And as for the population in this study was only some students, namely class 2 Mas students, totaling 34 students The results obtained from the teacher and students observation sheets during the learning process obtained very good scores with the results (teacher observation 82,5 % and student observations 85 % ). And the results of the pre-test post-test obtained a significant level (2- tailed) 0,000< 0,05 after the T test using the “SPSS” program indicates that the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the hypotesis (Ho) is rejected. This show that learning to speak (kalam) using a dictionary can develop students’ ability to speak arabic.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the common errors in reading Arabic texts among students and to identify their causes. As for the research method, the researcher used a descriptive analytical method. Observation, interview, and documentation were used to collect data. After the researcher carried out the scientific research, I found that the common mistakes of the learner in reading Arabic texts are divided into two types, namely, grammatical errors and morphological errors. Grammatical errors were the most frequent errors in reading Arabic texts, with a total of 117, with a percentage of 92.12%, and morphological errors, totaling 10, with a percentage of 7,87%. The factors that cause common mistakes in the learner’s reading of Arabic texts consist of several factors, namely lack of knowledge of rules, neglect of rules, unwillingness in the Arabic language and lack of reading Arabic texts.

Abstract

This article discusses the debates and controversies surrounding the authoritative interpretation of Sharia law regarding the caning punishment process in correctional facilities (prisons) in Aceh, which was previously conducted in open fields. The debate emerged and took place across various media platforms, including social media, following the issuance of the Aceh Governor's Regulation in 2018 concerning the relocation of the punishment process. The discussion extended to deliberating the most legitimate interpretation regarding the necessity for the caning punishment to be witnessed by a group of believers; the selection of the location where the punishment is carried out; and the intent and purpose of the caning punishment itself to be witnessed by the public, as explicitly stated in Q.S. An-Nur: 2. Using literature study as the research method, this article concludes that there has been a shift in religious interpretation towards authoritarianism by considering and asserting certain interpretations as authoritative and "supposedly" in accordance with Sharia, as intended by the implementation of the caning punishment during the formalization of Sharia law in Aceh.

Abstract

اعتمادا على الملاحظة الأولى التي قامت بها الباحثة أن بعض الطالبات في الصف الثاني يشعرن بالصعوبة في تعلم الإملاء ولا يفهمن المادة عند عملية التعليم والتعلم كما أَّنهن لا يركزن ويتكلمن ويضحكن بينهن في الفصل، وهذا سبب أن بعضهن لا يفهمن المادة وبعضهن يستطعن أن يفهمن المادة ولكن يصعبن في تمييز الحروف التي تتشابه مخارجها كالحرف التاء المفتوحة والتاء المربوطة. لذلك، تحاول الباحثة التغلب على هذه المشكلات من خلال تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية في تدريس الإملاء. كان الأهداف من هذا البحث هو للتعرف على فعالية الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية في تدريس الإملاء بمعهد المدني العزيزية Aceh Besar والتعرف على أنشطة المعلمة والطلبة عند تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية في تدريس الإملاء بمعهد المدني العزيزية.Aceh Besar تستخدم الباحثة منهج البحث التجريبي بنوع one group pre-test post-test design، تقدم الباحثة ورقة الملاحظة والاختبار القبلى والاختبار البعدي كأدوات البحث. النتيجة من تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية في تدريس الإملاء في الصف الثاني بالمدرسة المتوسطة المدنى العزيزية Aceh Besar حصلت على درجة ممتازة، في أنشطة المعلمة بالدرجة 92,5% وفي أنشطة الطالبات بالدرجة92,5%، عند تحليل بيانات الملاحظة. وإن تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية فعال في تدريس الإملاء، وتعتمد الباحثة على أن نتيجة من الاختبار (Paired Sample T-Test) حصلت على النتيجة مستوى الدلالة (sig.2-tailed 0,000)، وهي أصغر من نتيجة مستوى الدلالة (0,005). يعني أن تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية بوسيلة الأفلام العربية يكون فعالا في تدريس الإملاء.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the reality of field experience in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers by answering the following main question: What is the reality of field experience in the Arabic language teaching program in schools in Aceh? The researcher used a questionnaire consisting of 62 items, divided into four areas: cooperation with practicum schools, effectiveness of university supervisors, evaluation of practicum students, and the relevance of theoretical content to the needs of schools. The study involved 82 practicum students from four Islamic universities in Aceh. The researcher used the SPSS statistical analysis program to calculate means, standard deviations, and conducted independent t-tests and ANOVA tests to examine the impact of variables such as gender, cumulative GPA, and university on the reality of field experience. The results showed statistically significant differences in several areas, such as the effectiveness of university supervisors and cooperation between schools and universities. The researcher recommends increasing the number of credit hours for field experience, offering courses on theoretical content with practical activities such as micro-teaching, as well as developing evaluation mechanisms and improving coordination with practicum schools to enhance the quality of training.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on the importance of mastering speaking skills as one of the key competencies in language learning, especially Arabic. This study aims to examine the impact of puzzle media on Arabic speaking skills at SMP IT Al Farabi Bilingual School in Aceh Besar. The research methodology used is an experiment with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The research sample consisted of two groups of eighth-grade students: the experimental group using puzzle media and the control group using traditional media. The data collection technique used in this study was an oral test, which was assessed based on aspects of fluency, vocabulary, language structure, and speaking proficiency. The data collected in the study were then analyzed using descriptive statistics by comparing the mean scores and inferential statistics using the t-test. The results of the study showed that puzzle media had a significant impact on students' Arabic speaking skills. This is evident in the higher mean score of the experimental group (90.02 with a very high score) compared to the control group (50.31 with a low score). Furthermore, the independent, paired t-test showed that the significance value was less than 0.05, indicating a difference in Arabic speaking ability between students who used puzzle media and those who did not. Therefore, puzzle media can be used as an alternative means of improving students' Arabic language skills.

Abstract

This study discusses the transformation of the role of the Independent Education Accreditation Agency (IEAA/LAMDIK) in ensuring the quality of education study programmes at Islamic Higher Education Institutions (IHEI/PTKI) in the global era. This study stems from the need for reform in the quality of Indonesian higher education amid the challenges of globalisation, digitalisation, and the demands of 21st-century competencies. LAMDIK serves as an independent accreditation agency that plays a strategic role in ensuring external quality, replacing the role of National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (NAA-HE/BAN-PT) for education clusters, with a new paradigm of accreditation based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The objectives of this study are to describe the transformation of LAMDIK's role, analyse the implementation of outcome-based accreditation policies, and identify the challenges faced by PTKI in the accreditation process. The method used is a multi-case qualitative approach involving three PTKIs: Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) North Sumatra, and Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAI) Aceh Tamiang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, and analysed using the Miles, Huberman & Saldana model. The study results show that LAMDIK has undergone a paradigmatic transformation in policies, instruments, and the accreditation process, from a compliance-based system to a performance- and achievement-based system. LAMDIK acts as a quality regulator, facilitator of a culture of quality, and catalyst for change in academic governance at PTKI. However, challenges remain, such as limited human resources, digital literacy, and the integration of Islamic epistemology into accreditation instruments. In conclusion, LAMDIK has become an agent of transformation in the quality of higher education in PTKI, which assesses administrative compliance and builds a sustainable quality culture oriented towards global competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the activation of hearing and sight in Islamic learning models based on the perspective of Islamic education and various academic literature sources. In Islamic education, hearing (al-sam‘) and sight (al-abṣār) are regarded as fundamental human potentials that play an important role in acquiring knowledge, building character, and internalizing spiritual values. This study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were obtained through the exploration of journal articles, books, and scientific references related to audio-visual based Islamic learning models. The data analysis technique used content analysis through the stages of data reduction, theme categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the activation of hearing plays a significant role in improving listening skills, understanding information, and strengthening the internalization of values through Qur’anic recitation, lectures, dialogue, and educational communication. Meanwhile, the activation of sight helps students understand concepts concretely through observation, visual media, demonstrations, and multimedia-based learning technologies. The integration of audio and visual approaches in Islamic learning has proven effective in enhancing students’ attention, motivation, memory, and emotional engagement in the learning process. Furthermore, this approach also supports character building, emotional development, and children’s spirituality through exemplary behavior, positive communication, and more interactive and meaningful learning experiences. This study concludes that the optimization of hearing and sight should become a primary concern in developing holistic and adaptive Islamic learning models in accordance with contemporary educational developments. Audio-visual approaches not only improve learning effectiveness but also strengthen moral formation and students’ religious awareness in their daily lives.
