Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve reading skills through the use of the "Smart Pocket Board" game media for first-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Limboto. The type of research used is classroom action research, with the research subjects being 19 first-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Limboto. The research employed observation, tests, and documentation techniques. The data analysis techniques included teacher activity data, student activity data, and student reading skill data. The results of the study showed that during the initial observation, 7 students (37%) demonstrated reading skills. In the first cycle, 13 students (68%) showed improvement, and in the second cycle, 18 students (95%) were skilled in reading. Thus, it can be concluded that the "Smart Pocket Board" game media can improve the reading skills of first-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Limboto.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pembelajaran Jigsaw dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar membaca pada siswa di SDN 5 Limboto, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Tempat pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan di SDN 5 Limboto, Kabupaten Gorontalo, dengan subjek penelitian yaitu guru dan siswa yang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran membaca menggunakan model Jigsaw. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam penerapan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terdapat beberapa kesulitan belajar membaca siswa, seperti kurang lancar dalam membaca teks, sulit membedakan huruf, tidak ada pembiasaan belajar membaca dirumah, kesalahan dalam pengucapan kata, serta rendahnya pemahaman terhadap isi bacaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Jigsaw di SDN 5 Limboto Kabupaten Gorontalo masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan yang perlu ditangani melalui pelatihan guru, peningkatan keaktifan dan kerja sama siswa, serta optimalisasi strategi pembelajaran. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan bagi pihak sekolah dalam mengembangkan dan menerapkan model pembelajaran Jigsaw sebagai upaya mengatasi kesulitan belajar membaca pada siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ environmental awareness toward waste management in the context of the School Field Introduction Program (PLP 1) at SDN 1 Limboto. The study was motivated by the persistence of waste in several school areas and the limited consistency of students in maintaining cleanliness. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis covering data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and verification. The findings indicate that students’ waste awareness remains at the basic-awareness level: students understand the importance of cleanliness but have not consistently transformed this knowledge into daily habits. School efforts such as waste-disposal campaigns, class-cleaning schedules, teacher supervision, and habituation programs have supported environmental care, yet their impact depends on continuity and collective involvement. The study concludes that strengthening waste awareness requires sustained habituation, teacher modeling, supervision, and integration into daily school culture. PLP 1 provides an important reflective context for identifying real educational challenges and designing practical environmental-care strategies in elementary schools.
