Abstract

This study analyses the conduct and results of a technology-integrated pedagogical training program for pre-service teachers in Gabaldon Municipality, Nueva Ecija Province, Philippines. The program aimed to capacitate future teachers with digital competencies and knowledge of specific pedagogical strategies anchored in the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework. This research utilized a mixed-methods approach, combining survey instruments, interviews, and classroom observations to determine how the training effectively enhanced readiness to integrate technology into one's teaching practice. The findings suggest marked improvements in the participants' TPACK domains, increased confidence in using educational technologies, and a favorable attitude toward integrating technology into their classes. This study recommends developing contextualized, comprehensive, and targeted training programs to propel pre-service teachers into embracing the demands of contemporary classrooms.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between teacher–student interaction and students’ motivation in Junior High School English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. Motivation plays a vital role in the language learning process, influencing students’ engagement, persistence, and overall academic performance. Teacher–student interaction, which includes emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support, has been identified as a significant factor in shaping students’ learning experiences. This research employed a quantitative correlational design, collecting data from 150 students and five teachers across four junior high schools in Ciamis, West Java. The instruments used were adapted from Pianta’s Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and Gardner’s Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB), measuring various dimensions of teacher–student interaction and both integrative and instrumental types of student motivation. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson’s product-moment correlation, which revealed a positive and moderate correlation (r = 0.576) with a significance level of p < 0.05. The findings demonstrate that supportive and structured teacher–student interactions significantly enhance students’ motivation in EFL contexts. The study emphasizes the need for educators to foster emotionally supportive, well-organized, and cognitively stimulating classroom environments to promote student engagement and success. This research contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the importance of interaction quality in motivating students and suggests implications for teacher training and classroom management strategies in EFL settings.

Abstract

Technological advancements have had a profound impact on the education sector around the globe including in Thailand and other developing countries.  as in many other developing countries, there are major challenges in adapting with the rapid development of technology. The school where the community service was held also faced similar issues. With an innovative approach through assessment training using technology, this community engagement activity is expected to be a positive step towards educational transformation, particularly in the southern part of Thailand. With the active involvement of teachers as well as full support from related parties, we can create a learning environment that is more dynamic, relevant, and globally competitive. A pre-test and a post-test were conducted at the beginning and the end of the training to measure teachers’ understanding in implementing digital assessment strategies. By equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills to implement digital assessment strategies, the training has had a measurable impact on professional development and instructional practices. In addition, the training provide access to further consultation or guidance, participants can feel supported and more confident in applying their learning in the classroom. The results of the pre- and post-training survey demonstrated a substantial improvement, averaging 51.3% increase across all survey items. This indicates the positive impact of the training in enhancing teachers' competencies in integrating technology into their assessment practices.  Moving forward, schools in rural Thailand can apply the lessons learned from this workshop to enhance their own educational outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: 21st century learning and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum require teachers to be able to design meaningful, in-depth, and learner-centered learning. In reality, teachers still have limitations in understanding the concept and application of the Deep Learning approach in designing learning plans. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in developing Deep Learning-based Lesson Plans (RPP) through structured training covering socialization, in-depth study of constructivism theory, teaching tool development practice, and technology integration. Evaluation was conducted using pre-tests and post-tests in the form of questionnaires to measure changes in participants' abilities. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement: before the training, 74% of participants stated that they did not understand Deep Learning, while after the training, 75% agreed and 25% strongly agreed that their abilities had improved. These findings confirm that the training was effective in strengthening teachers' competencies, improving the quality of learning planning, and supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in a more meaningful way.
