Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of direct learning models that are supported by learning videos. Class action research refers to Kemmis and McTaggart's designs, which are carried out over two cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class X LVE 7 at VHS Dharma Bahari Surabaya. Data were collected using test and observation instruments. Test and observation data were analyzed descriptively based on standardized study completeness criteria. The results of this study found that student learning outcomes consistently increased from the pre-test scores, the value of the first cycle, to the value of the second cycle. Based on the pre-test score data, it is known that there are 16 or 53% of 30 students who reach the complete category. Learning outcomes are then improved in the first cycle, where there are 19 or 63% who reach the complete category. Meanwhile, in cycle II there were 23 or 77% of students who reached the complete category. This increase occurred consistently so that it was concluded that the use of direct learning models supported by learning videos was very effective for the learning of class X LVE 7 students at VHS Dharma Bahari Surabaya.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 telah merubah pola belajar siswa di seluruh dunia yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara tatap muka dan sekarang telah beralih menuju pembelajaran daring. Namun yang menjadi permasalahan adalah tidak semua sekolah siap untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran daring dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk melatih para peserta dalam: (1) menggunakan platform google classroom; (2) menggunakan platform zoom cloud meetings; dan (3) menggunakan web tool quizizz. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan menggunakan metode pelatihan dan pendampingan. Subjek kegiatan atau perserta pelatihan berjumlah 50 orang guru. Waktu kegiatan dilaksanakan selama dua hari yakin tanggal 20 hingga 21 Maret 2020 yang diselenggarakan di SMK Dharma Bahari Surabaya. Hasil dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah secara berurutan dari 50 orang guru sebanyak 34%, 50%, dan 8% peserta masuk kategori “sangat baik”, “baik” dan “cukup” dalam mengoperasikan google classroom, sedangkan 8% lainnya masuk dalam kategori “kurang”. Selanjutnya, secara berurutan sebanyak 40%, 52%, dan 2% peserta masuk kategori “sangat baik”, “baik” dan “cukup” dalam mengoperasikan zoom cloud meetings, sedangkan 6% lainnya masuk dalam kategori “kurang”. Kemudian, secara berurutan sebanyak 30%, 56%, dan 10% peserta masuk kategori “sangat baik”, “baik” dan “cukup” dalam mengoperasikan web tool quizizz, sedangkan 4% lainnya masuk dalam kategori “kurang”.

Abstract

Kegiatan adminitrasi merupakan kegiatan operasional rutin yang dilakukan oleh suatu instansi atau perusahaan. Namun, sejak adanya pandemic Covid-19 proses administrasi di Jurusan Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) menjadi kurang efisien. Adanya ketentuan pelayanan adiministrasi boleh dilakukan dengan ketentuan 25% dari total pegawai menjadi salah satu alasannya. Merujuk dari permasalahan tersebut, melalui penelitian ini dibangunlah suatu sistem informasi yang bertujuan untuk meminimalisir ketidakefisienan proses administrasi di Jurusan Teknik Mesin Unesa. Penelitian ini berjenis pengembangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, maka dapat diketahui bahwa SiMME telah dikembangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan user. Penggunaan SiMME telah menjadi trobosan baru di Jurusan Teknik Mesin, dimana sebelumnya sistem kelola adiministrasi dilakukan secara manual. Namun, saat ini sudah dapat dilakukan secara online sehingga dimanapun user berada proses pengurusan administrasi tetap dapat dilakukan. Selain itu, status pengajuan usual dapat dipantau secara berkala oleh user sehingga saat diperlukan perbaikan user dapat langsung melakukan revisi sesuai dengan masukan yang diberikan oleh admin.

Abstract

Environmental influences can cause corrosion or damage to materials, which is why paint coating is used to protect them. Some of the factors that affect the quality of the paint are technical, such as setting the air pressure and spray gun nozzle spacing. The experimental research aims to determine how air pressures of 1.5, 2, and 2.5 bar and nozzle spacings of 10–15–20 cm affect the gloss and thickness of the water-based paint layer. A gravity-feed spray gun was used for this purpose. The luster test method uses an AMTAST AMN60 glossmeter with the ASTM D523-08 standard, and the thickness test uses a coating thickness gauge with the ASTM E 376-96 standard. The air pressure and the distance of the spray gun nozzle affect the gloss and thickness of the paint layer. Parameter 2 bar/15 cm yielded the highest gloss of 92.77 GU, while parameter 2.5 bar/10 cm resulted in the highest coating thickness of 0.26 mm.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the quality of basic mechanical engineering learning at Sekolah Indonesia Davao (SID) through the application of innovative and effective learning media. SID has limited access to basic mechanical engineering learning materials, and there is no media that makes it easier to understand the material. To overcome this problem, the community service activity implementation team implemented basic engineering learning media aimed for junior high and high school levels. The implementation methods included identifying partner problems, determining solutions, implementing media, monitoring, and compiling reports. The results of the implementation of this activity showed that the basic mechanical engineering learning media has been handed over to the partner on May 28, 2024, and training on how to operate the media has been carried out. This activity also received a positive response from the partner, because it made a significant contribution to improving the understanding and skills of students at SID in the field of mechanical engineering, as well as strengthening cooperation between Surabaya State University and SID in the field of education.
