Abstract

Objective: Aggressive behavior is an ambition to hurt others by expressing negative feelings. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between emotion regulation and peer conformity with aggressive behavior among students at SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. Method: This research uses a correlational quantitative approach, involving 233 eleventh-grade students as the sample. Then the data analysis was conducted using the JASP version 19.3 for Windows application. Results: Based on the research findings, emotion regulation has been proven to have a quite strong relationship with students' aggressive behavior. Moreover, peer conformity in this study also proved to have a fairly strong relationship with aggressive behavior in students. Novelty: This research applies a phased approach by interviewing guidance counselors. In addition, the initial distribution of the questionnaire was conducted to determine the classes with a high level of aggressive behavior. Unlike previous studies that used random sampling techniques, this research specifically selected classes based on the initial survey results and distributed the main questionnaire using incidental sampling techniques.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena quarter-life crisis yang banyak dialami oleh individu pada masa dewasa awal. Quarter-life crisis ditandai dengan perasaan cemas, kebingungan arah hidup, dan ketidakpastian masa depan. Faktor internal seperti self-determination serta faktor eksternal seperti social-support diduga berperan dalam memengaruhi tingkat quarter-life crisis pada individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-determination dan social-support dengan quarter-life crisis pada dewasa awal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan metode cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 122 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner self-report yang mengukur tingkat self-determination, social-support, dan quarter-life crisis. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman untuk melihat hubungan antarvariabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-determination dan social-support memiliki hubungan yang signifikan negatif dengan quarter-life crisis. Semakin tinggi self-determination dan social-support yang dimiliki individu, maka semakin rendah tingkat quarter-life crisis yang dialami. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa faktor internal dan eksternal berperan penting dalam membantu individu dewasa awal menghadapi fase quarter-life crisis.
