Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in the face-to-face teaching and learning process being shifted to distance learning which has the potential to affect student literacy levels. This quantitative study aims to determine the effect of gender and grade level on the genetic literacy of high school students in Malang. This survey research used a statement instrument as many as 17 items involving 97 students. Data collection was carried out from November to December 2021. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The research data was tested using a Two-Way ANOVA analysis. The results showed that gender did not have a significant effect on genetic literacy, while class level has significant effect. Furthermore, gender and class level did not have a significant interaction. Further research that examines the effect of other variables on genetic literacy needs to be done.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the EMKONTAN learning model in improving environmental literacy for prospective biology teacher students. EMKONTAN is a student-centered learning model (students active learning), oriented to creative learning, problem-based learning, collaborative learning and provides opportunities for students to improve environmental literacy. This research was conducted in the event semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang (IBU) and FTTE Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), involving 150 second semester students through total sampling. Data obtained through observation, questionnaires and tests. The research used a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The experiment was conducted from March to July 2021. Data collection in this study was carried out using Google Form, Google Classroom, Google Meet, and WhatsApp. Data analysis using SPSS software version 23. The ANCOVA analysis results showed that EMKONTAN, PBL affected students' creativity, collaboration skill and environmental literacy on biology teachers candidate students with a value of p<0.005. The LSD result was significantly different in improving students' environmental literacy. The EMKONTAN class gained the highest posttest score. Therefore, EMKONTAN could be applicable to improve environmental literacy outcomes in environmental learning.

Abstract

STEM learning aims to prepare students to prepare themselves for a career based on the skills needed in the 21st century, but this is still not a concern for teachers so assistance is needed for science and mathematics teachers. This assistance is intended to strengthen teachers' understanding, skills, and attitudes towards STEM. The steps taken in this mentoring activity include (1) initiation of contacts and reports of initiation results, (2) discussions, (3) program planning and implementation, and (4) program evaluation. The results of the implementation of the mentoring steps, namely (1) an agreement was obtained that a comprehensive understanding of STEM concepts was needed, skills were needed to develop learning tools and implement STEM learning and a strong appreciation in STEM learning was needed; (2) agreed on the need for assistance in the form of strengthening STEM understanding, training in preparing lesson plans and STEM learning practices and strengthening attitudes towards STEM as a choice of learning approach that is in line with the demands of the 21st century; (3) The results of discussions related to program plans and implementation are the formulation of STEM training plans and their implementation involving teachers in the fields of Science and Mathematics; and (4) The results of discussions related to evaluation stated that the results of mentoring were evaluated in a process through observing STEM learning practices using the open-class and reflection method, while product evaluation was through learning plan portfolios and learning videos. The conclusion of this mentoring activity is the implementation of the stages of STEM learning assistance which includes initiation, discussion, plans and implementation of actions and evaluation. The mentoring process has strengthened the understanding, skills, and appreciation of science and mathematics teachers for STEM learning.

Abstract

Laporan keuangan merupakan suatu bentuk pertanggungjawaban kepada pihak internal maupun eksternal. Sekolah Dasar (SD) Muhammadiyah merupakan salah satu organisasi Pendidikan yang menjadi amal usaha Muhammadiyah yang dimiliki oleh Persyarikatan. SD Muhammadiyah 6 Kota Malang masuk dalam kategori organisasi nirlaba. Organisasi nirlaba merupakan organisasi yang sasarannya untuk mendukung suatu kebijakan atau memecahkan masalah penting yang terjadi di suatu Negara. Saat ini pelaporan keuangan nirlaba telah berubah dari PSAK 45 menjadi Interpretasi Standard Akuntansi Keuangan (ISAK) no. 35. ISAK 35 sendiri berlaku efektif di Indonesia per 1 Januari 2020, dan yang sudah beradaptasi dengan peraturan tersebut adalah organisasi nirlaba yang memiliki skala operasional yang luas dan memiliki sumberdaya manusia di bidang keuangan yang mumpuni. Perubahan PSAK 45 menjadi ISAK 35 bagi organisasi nirlaba seperti sekolah tentu membutuhkan adaptasi. SD Muhammadiyah 6 Kota Malang masih menggunakan laporan kas saja dalam melakukan pencatatan atas transaksi keuangannya. Kendala yang dialami SD Muhammdiyah ini karena keterbatasan sumberdaya dalam penyusunan laporan keuangan sesuai dengan ISAK 35. Keterbatasan yang dialami oleh mitra tersebut yang membuat tim pengabdi membuat Pelatihan pelaporan keuangan nirlaba pada SD Muhammadiyah 6 Kota Malang. Hasil Pengabdian ini diharapkan pengelola SD Muhammadiyah 6 Kota Malang mampu mengelola keuangan sebagai bagian pertanggungjawaban sekolah kepada stakeholders.

Abstract

This research is a literature review that aims to investigate the subject of Subjective Well-Being in students with disabilities. Subjective well-being covers various aspects of life which include happiness, life satisfaction, and individual perceptions of the quality of their life. Students with disabilities face unique and varied challenges in achieving their subjective well-being, due to being in an academic environment that is often not fully aware of their needs. This literature research will explore scientific articles, journals, books, and other trusted sources that discuss the subjective well-being of students with disabilities. Research will evaluate the factors that affect their subjective well-being, including social support, accessibility of facilities, level of participation in academic and non-academic activities, and the role of self-perception in the adaptation process. In addition, this research will also identify the challenges and obstacles faced by students with disabilities in achieving their subjective well-being. Some of the possible challenges include social stigmatization, lack of awareness of their needs, as well as physical and psychological limitations that affect their participation in campus life. It is hoped that the results of this literature review can provide better insight on how to improve the subjective well-being of students with disabilities in the higher education environment. The practical implications of this research can help educational institutions to develop more inclusive policies and programs, as well as provide appropriate resources and support for students with disabilities. In addition, this research can also identify research areas that need more exploration in the future to better understand and improve the subjective well-being of this group.

Abstract

Tujuan Pengabdian ini adalah membentuk/mengembangkan sekelompok masyarakat dengan target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah memberikan pendampingan dalam pelaporan keuangan. Mitra dalam pengabdian ini adalah Koperasi Bueka As-Sakinah yang berada dalam naungan PDA (Pimpinan Daerah Aisyiyah) Kota Malang. Sampai saat ini Mitra merupakan koperasi yang dikelola secara konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil Rapat Anggota Tahunan (RAT) Mitra yang dilaksanakan pada hari Ahad, tanggal 11 Januari 2021 disepakati untuk secara bertahap bermetamorfosa menjadi Koperasi Syariah. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh Mitra adalah adanya keterbatasan sumber daya manusia (SDM) untuk menyusun pelaporan keuangan yang terintegrasi dan terkini, sehingga yang terjadi masih menggunakan microsoft excel. Metode yang dipakai dalam menyelesaikan masalah Mitra adalah memberikan pendampingan dan tutorial dalam pelaporan keuangan. Program keuangan accurate digunakan dalam proses pendampingan pelaporan keuangan Syariah

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the problem-based learning (PBL) model in improving creative thinking skills, collaborative skills and environmental literacy of Muhammadiyah secondary school (Senior High School and Vocational School) students. The type of research is quasi-experimental. The research design uses Pretest-Posttest Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The experimental research was preceded by a survey regarding the independent and dependent variables, followed by the development of learning tools consisting of a syllabus, student worksheets, creative thinking skills instrument, collaborative skills instrument and environmental literacy instrument. The research sample consisted of 150 grade 10 students taken by total sampling. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaires and tests. The research was conducted from September to December 2023. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to verify the data against the proposed hypothesis. The research results show that PBL is effective in improving creative thinking skills, collaborative skills and environmental literacy of Muhammadiyah secondary school students in Batu City. PBL can be implemented widely in an effort to develop creative thinking skills, collaborative skills and environmental literacy.

Abstract

Science literacy abilities and collaborative skills are part of the life skills demands of the 21st century. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the PjBL learning model in improving the Science literacy and collaborative skills of students at Muhammadiyah 2 Middle School, Batu City and Muhammadiyah 8 Middle School, Batu City. The research design uses Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 60 class VIII students taken by total sampling. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaires and tests. Data analysis uses covariance analysis (ANCOVA) to verify the data against the proposed hypothesis. The research results show that the average Science literacy and collaboration in PjBL learning is higher than conventional learning. The results of the analysis can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL effectively influences students' Science literacy and students' collaboration skills. Thus, the PjBL model is recommended to be implemented to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at the junior high school level as an effort to develop students' 21st century life skills.

Abstract

Teachers are required to develop professional learning that can produce qualified students. Consequently, a learning model is required that enables 21st-century abilities. Each individual is supposed to master skills in the form of 21st century skills, one of which is collaboration. The Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is chosen with the consideration that it has stages that are able to encourage students to collaborate with other group members, use various thinking abilities of students individually and in groups, and improve the quality of interaction between students. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning and student collaborative skills, to describe TBLA in science learning at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang, particularly in Vertical Motion material. This research method was qualitative descriptive research. The objects of study were 25 teachers and 8th-grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. The research stages included designing teaching modules by using PjBL learning, implementing learning, and reflecting on learning based on the lesson study stages that consisted of a Plan Do See. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PjBL in science learning, consisting of 6 steps, namely drawing questions, compiling project plans, compiling schedules, monitoring, testing results, and evaluating experiences, have been well described, both narratively and visually in the learning. Student collaboration skills in science learning material Vertical motion are 73.4% (high category). TBLA shows that the teacher speeches are more dominant, namely 85.94% and the students are 14.05%. It can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL learning was carried out well and students' collaborative skills were in the high category.

Abstract

Desa Sukolilo berada di wilayah administrasi Kecamatan Prigen, Kabupaten Pasuruan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Keindahan alam wisata Kecamatan Prigen memang sangat menawan, Terlebih Prigen saat ini menjadi daerah wisata pegunungan unggulan di Kabupaten Pasuruan dengan jargon 'Pasuruan City of Mountain”, diantaranya dusun Sukolilo dan Soju (sayuran organik Junggo ) di dusun Junggo Prigen. Tim Pengabdi UMM, melalui kegiatan Penyuluhan Si-Halal dan eduwista, berhasil mendampingi 20 UKM nya memperoleh self declare Sertifikasi halal. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan guna mendukung program jaminan produk halal UU 33/2014, melalui program UKM naik kelas dan self declare halal bagi para UKM.Produk teknologi termasuk pangan perlu langkah kontinyu hilirisasi bagi masyarakat. UMM sebagai universitas yang mempunyai banyak sumberdaya manusia, mempunyai dosen dengan karya/temuan, keahlian di bidang pengolahan hasil pertanian seperti minuman olahan bunga (bunga mawar, telang, sayuran), yang dapat mensupport pengembangan pariwisata di Prigen tersebut. Produk UKM disana sudah mulai dapat mendukung  kegiatan wisata unggulan disana, diantaranya minuman dari bunga telang, jahe merah, dan lainnya. Masalah yang dihadapi mereka diantaranya mutu produk yang tidak tahan lama, sehinga memerlukan perbaikan daya simpan produk, serta dikenalkan pentingnya diversifikasi oelahan menjadi minuman/herbal, guna mendukung potensi wisata herbal yang potensial di sana. Kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan atau pendampingan antara lain : (i) Sosialiasi terkait Pentingnya mutu produk melalui penggunaan pengawet yang tepat (ii) Pembuatan olahan variasi yang lebih banyak, sebagai produk alternatif UKM pengolah hasil tanaman herbal. Berharap produk unggulan nantinya dapat menjadi icon Kabupaten Pasuruan menambah variasi oleh-oleh wisatawan.            Pelaksanaan pengabdian telah melakukan pendampingan terhadap sekitar 9 UKM berbasis minuman olahan herbal dan atau bebungaan, serta telah dapat membantu meningkatkan pemahaman UKM dalam melakukan pengemasan yang lebih baik agar produk bertahan lebih lama, dan menghasilkan publikasi medsos online: https://pelopornews.co.id/102023/pendampingan-ukm-naik-kelas-melalui-pengolahan-hasil-bunga-menjadi-produk-pangan-sehat-dan-herbal/. UKM hasil kerjsama teh celup mawar plus, telah didampingi LP3H HC UMM melakukan pendafataran Halal.  Hasil pengujian daya antioksidan teh celup mawar plus (dengan 4 daun yaitu daun mangga, mint dan sirsat) yang dihasilkan, mempunyai nilai cukup baik yaitu sekitar 25-77%, dapat dikategorikan minuman tinggi antioksidan.
