Abstract

The results of the observation showed that there were still many students in histology subjects who did not yet have critical thinking competencies and maximum histology concept. The purpose of this study was to find out how project-based learning through blended learning can develop critical thinking skills and student histology concept. This type of research is classroom action research. The sample of this study was students of class C histology class 2018/2019 as many as 35 students of Malang Muhammadiyah University. The research method is in the form of observation, interviews, and tests. The learning management system used in this research blended learning uses Edmodo. The results showed that there was a change in the improvement of critical thinking skills and student histology concept from cycle I to cycle II. Critical thinking skills in the cycle I showed that 23% were complete and 77% were non-complete, while the cycle II was 80% complete and 20% non-compete. Critical thinking skills from cycle I to cycle II increased by 57%. Histology concept in the cycle I found 69% complete and 31% non-complete, while the cycle II was 100% complete and 0% non-complete. Histology concept from cycle I to cycle II increased by 31%. Based on this, project-based learning through blended learning can develop critical thinking skills and student histology concept.

Abstract

Background: The project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila, P5) is a project-based co-curricular activity designed to strengthen efforts to achieve competency and character in accordance with the Pancasila student profile which is prepared based on Graduate Competency Standards. In the 2022-2023 academic year, SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Batu has implemented P5 using modules that have been prepared by the government and modified according to school conditions. This is because schools have not been able to create their own P5 modules. This community service aims to provide assistance in the development of the project module for strengthening the profile of Pancasila students (P5) and its implementation at SMP Muhammadiyah 02 Batu City. Method: The methods in the research are: training planning, training implementation, programme implementation evaluation assistance, programme sustainability evaluation. Result: Teachers can use AI applications to create learning material products in the form of PowerPoint presentations, short stories, graphics, images and learning videos that support more interesting subject matter. Increased ability and skills in the use of information technology and web-based learning media for teachers to support the learning process, resulting in increased student participation and understanding of the material. Conclusion: From this research, it can be concluded that teachers are collaborating to be more innovative and adaptable to technological advances that affect education. This collaboration with artificial intelligence must, of course, be adapted to valid and up-to-date references according to the needs of the material.

Abstract

The Influence of Assessment Strategy on Creative Thinking Ability and Character in Making Learning Media.  Objective: assessment strategy its effect on creative thinking ability and academic character of students in making learning media. Methods: research quasi-experimental method one-group pretest-posttest design. The research was carried out in the Biology Education Study Program of UMM in the odd semester of 2021/2022. The research population is students in the Media and Learning course. Saturated sampling technique and sample of 25 students. The research instrument consisted 6 creative thinking essay questions and an academic character assessment form. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA. Findings: the application of the assessment strategy has a significant effect on students' creative thinking skills in making learning media for biological diversity, fungi and inheritance. The assessment strategy used has an influence on the academic character of students. Conclusion: good assessment strategy will encourage educators to determine good teaching strategies and motivate students to learn better so that learning becomes meaningful. Keywords: elaboration, flexibility, fluency, metaphorical thinking, academic character, originality.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i3.202213

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the abilities that every individual student must have and is also a prerequisite for 21st-century life skills through integrated education, starting from family, school, and to society. This research aims to determine science literacy abilities and to determine the relationship between gender and class-level science literacy abilities in students in grades X, XI, and XII at Islamic Senior High School (ISHS) of Batu City. The research design used is quantitative research using descriptive methods (quantitative descriptive). The location of this research is at ISHS of Batu City. Purposive sampling was in the sampling process, which involved selecting a sample based on specific attributes, such as gender. There are 20 male and female students at the class level, and the results of ability in science literacy are X=46% and XI=60%. Based on this data, if it is based on the criteria for classes X, the results obtained for the gender aspect show that there is no significant interaction with the results of students' science literacy abilities. It can be concluded that there is a significant interaction between students’ science literacy skill and grade level.
