Abstract

Purpose of the study: This assessment provides space for students with non-academic weaknesses in science subject skills. This research was used to obtain information related to the scope of evaluation of junior high school students' natural science learning: A Systematic Review. Methodology: The review method was chosen to obtain research journals with keywords in the scope of evaluation of junior high school science learning on Google reference sources scholar, science direct, and research gates. Twenty journals were reviewed based on author (year), sample, study design, the scope of the evaluation, and findings. Main Findings: The results of the review show that the scope of learning evaluation can be carried out based on the context to be assessed, such as the scope of the cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. The scope of learning evaluation in the cognitive domain can be in the form of observation and understanding, the affective domain can be in the form of responses given by students as long as the teacher provides knowledge, and the psychomotor domain is in the form of a skills assessment rubric such as doing practicum after being given theory by the teacher. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research can contribute to the world of education, especially in evaluating science learning.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk membandingkan hasil ketiga kelas tersebut dan melihat tingkat motivasi belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Jambi dalam proses pembelajaran. Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian survey dengan instrumen penilaian tes berupa angket dengan variable karakter motivasi belajar, dan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakter siswa, khususnya karakter motivasi belajar siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Kota Jambi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIA 4, X MIA 5 dan X MIA 6 SMAN 1 Kota Jambi, dengan jumlah total responden sebanyak 90 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling yaitu jumlah sampel sama dengan populasi. Temuan Utama: Angket motivasi belajar siswa kelas X MIA 4 rata-rata tergolong dalam kategori “Cukup Baik” dengan 70 % pernyataan dijawab setuju oleh siswa dan 30 % pernyataan dijawab dengan sangat setuju oleh siswa. Hasil penelitian pada kelas X MIA 5 rata-rata tergolong dalam kategori “Baik” dengan 60 % pernyataan dijawab setuju oleh siswa dan 40 %, dijawab sangat setuju oleh siswa. Sedangkan hasil penelitian pada kelas X MIA 6 rata-rata tergolong dalam kategori “Lebih Baik” dengan 43,3 % pernyataan dijawab setuju oleh siswa dan 56,7 %, dijawab sangat setuju oleh siswa. Berdasarkan hasil angket tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat motivasi belajar siswa kelas X MIA 4 lebih rendah dari kelas X MIA 5 dan X MIA 6. Keterbaruan/Keaslian dari Penelitian: Melihat tingkat motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Learning science is one of the ways that education works to improve the quality of human resources by enhancing personality and abilities. In this study, researchers adopted a specific quantitative methodology. The research instrument used a student learning responsibility questionnaire with 25 statements and observation sheets of students' scientific inquiry skills with 18 statements ranging from very bad to very good. 237 junior high school students from state schools on the east coast grade 7 were used as research samples selected using purposive sampling technique. Data from the research sample can be evaluated after it has been gathered. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between learning responsibility and science process skills of junior high school students in suburban cities. There is a positive and unidirectional relationship between student responsibilities and students' science process skills in science subjects for junior high school students in suburban cities as indicated by the correlation between student learning responsibilities and science process skills, a correlation coefficient of 0.710 is obtained. Based on the results of the Follow-up Test, the average responsibility of the three junior high school students in suburban cities is significantly different from the significance value used, which is 0.05. The significance value obtained for the character of responsibility is 0.020 which is lower than the significance value used, which is 0.05. The researcher suggests that future scientists utilize research findings as a source of information to carry out additional research and close gaps in their knowledge.

Abstract

Misconceptions experienced by students must be identified, reduced, and remediated so that they do not become obstacles for students in their learning process. This study aims to reduce students' misconceptions about static fluids using interactive media developed using the Nearpod Platform based on Posner's conceptual change theory. The research design used was a one-group pre-test post-test design study, by conducting a pre-test, providing actions or treatments, and post-tests to 31 sample high school students. The test instruments and interactive media were first developed with a fairly strict validation process regarding content, construct, and face. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to measure the effectiveness of the learning platform in reducing misconceptions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Nearpod interactive learning platform based on Posner's conceptual change theory can significantly reduce students' misconceptions of the material of hydrostatic pressure and Archimedes' law, with a decrease in the percentage of misconceptions from an average of 34.83% in the pretest to 18.06% in the posttest. Therefore, the Conceptual Change Text strategy through Nearpod media has effectively reduced misconceptions.
