Abstract

This research aims to develop an adaptive MOOC ecosystem in universities. This study involved development research using the 4-D model, which consists of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The results indicate that in developing a MOOC ecosystem, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of users to find out what structures are needed. The context of MOOCs by companies is undoubtedly different from that of universities. As an educational institution, its stakeholders involve university leaders and researchers from lecturers. In the initial design, it is necessary to test user characteristics so that the MOOC system can make decisions on learning recommendations. We involved metacognitive testing and categorize so that users can learn to the fullest. In its application, validity tests were performed on experts to assess the product from development and on users. The test results showed excellent results. This ecosystem has also been disseminated to users and received a very good response. Moreover, several universities in Indonesia have the status of PTN-BH, which demands financial independence, so MOOC can be one of the breakthroughs to acquire income generation. Keywords: adaptive MOOC, MOOC ecosystem, higher education

Abstract

Socioeconomics and sociodemography these days are often used as a measure of people's happiness in a country. This study took data from the World Values Survey from Indonesia, with 3200 participans from various work backgrounds, ages, etc. This research uses explanative design. A quantitative approach and type of analyzes use the probit method to see the modeling of happiness, socio-economic and socio-demographic variables. The results showed that age and gender are not determinants of happiness. It appears that the happiness of the Indonesian people is still primarily determined by their income. Low, medium, and high job class variables have a significant influence. Furthermore, marital status, which is described by the existence of marriage, living together like married, divorced, separated, widowed/widowed, and unmarried, influences the happiness variable of family living standards. Still, the exciting thing is that Indonesian society is more likely to have a high standard of living, not to be a determinant of happiness. Indonesia's high standard of living looks different from some research in other countries and previous research that can be a determinant of happiness. These facts certainly impact government policy considerations in realizing public welfare, as stated in the foundation of the state ideology of Pancasila.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to explore the market of MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform providers in Indonesia using machine learning methods to analyse trends and user behaviour. MOOCs provide broad access to education, especially during the pandemic, where the need for learning flexibility increases. Although machine learning applications have been widely applied in the financial sector, their application in the exploration of the education market, particularly MOOCs, is still minimal. This research aims to address this gap by applying machine learning algorithms, such as clustering and decision trees, to understand user preferences and predict future needs. The study found that Duolingo leads the MOOC market in Indonesia with a 79.76% share. Although the market is dominated by a few big players, there are growth opportunities for new platforms through innovation and proper segmentation. This research also shows the importance of applying AI technology in processing big data to understand market dynamics more comprehensively.

Abstract

The study employs Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to analyze measurement validity, reliability, and structural relationships among variables within a theoretically grounded framework. An integrated structural model is proposed to examine three core instructional dimensions lesson planning, teaching methods, and assessment instruments using SEM. This approach addresses a methodological gap in microteaching research, which has predominantly relied on descriptive or quasi-experimental designs and has rarely examined latent variables or indirect effects. A quantitative explanatory design was implemented through a cross-sectional survey involving 169 microteaching students selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with SEM-PLS. The results indicate that teaching methods have the strongest positive effect on pedagogical competence, followed by assessment instruments. Conversely, lesson planning demonstrates a significant but negative direct effect, suggesting that its influence on pedagogical competence may function indirectly through teaching methods and assessment practices. Furthermore, lesson planning and assessment instruments significantly affect teaching methods, highlighting the interdependence among instructional components. The study concludes that pedagogical competence develops through an interconnected system involving planning quality, instructional implementation, and assessment literacy. These findings emphasize the importance of integrative instructional design, authentic assessment training, and reflective teaching practices in microteaching. Overall, improving pedagogical competence requires the simultaneous development of planning, teaching, and assessment as mutually reinforcing elements of effective instruction.
