Abstract

Water is the main need for life, so the quality of the water used in life needs to be known. The objectives of this research are to determine the leachate management system at the IPL, determine efficiency of leachate water treatment performance at IPL, and determine impact of leachate water quality at Piyungan Regional Landfill on the river and wells water quality around the landfill. This research is quantitative descriptive research conducted at Piyungan Regional Landfill and its surroundings in April-July 2023. The data collected were results of physical, chemical, and biological parameters of the IPL Inlet and Outlet leachate water quality, Opak River after the IPL Outlet, and 3 samples of well water from the surrounding community representing distance from the landfill. The data collection methods used are observation, documentation, and analysis of water quality in the laboratory. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive methods and compared with quality standards set by the Government. The results showed that: The leachate water management system at the IPL uses 8 water treatment tanks include: a bar screen, inlet, coagulation tank, equalization tank, sedimentation tank, SDB, ABR, aeration tank, maturation tank, chlorination tank, and Outlet. The efficiency of leachate water treatment performance at the IPL is not effective and efficient in processing leachate water. The quality of leachate water affects the water quality of the Opak River and wells around the landfill, on chemical parameters TDS, BOD, COD, DO, and microbiological parameters Total Coliform, therefore, the Regional Government need to evaluate and improve the IPL. Communities around the Landfill that use well water as their main need must be filtered and boiled.

Abstract

Environmental issues are occurring more frequently, both due to natural causes and human activities. If left unchecked, human activities can worsen environmental conditions. Bantul Regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is one of the regions grappling with this issue, primarily due to waste management and industrial activities. Environmental issues are related to environmental literacy. The lack of education, awareness, and knowledge in society can degrade environmental quality. Environmental literacy plays an important role in enhancing knowledge as well as changing the attitudes and behaviors of society towards the environment. Therefore, it is important to instill environmental literacy in individuals to improve our attitudes towards the environment. This study aims to provide an overview of students's environmental literacy in Bantul Regency. The research uses a survey method conducted in Bantul Regency from September to November 2023. The population of this study includes all 10th-grade students from public high schools in Bantul Regency. The sample consists of 300 10th-grade students from public high schools in the sub-districts of Bantul, Banguntapan, Sewon, Jetis, Piyungan, Imogiri, Pajangan, Srandakan, Sedayu, and Dlingo. The study's results show that the environmental literacy profile of 10th-grade students in Bantul Regency falls into the "average" category, with a percentage score of 65.96%. The highest score in the competency domain is found in Bantul City (81.90%) and falls into the "good" category, while the lowest score is in Dlingo Sub-district (60.93%), categorized as "average" The highest score in the affective domain is in Dlingo Sub-district (70.25%), categorized as "average" while the lowest score is in Jetis Sub-district (66.67%), also categorized as "average." The highest score in the behavior domain is found in Imogiri Sub-district (64.91%), categorized as "average" while the lowest score is in Srandakan Sub-district (55.30%), categorized as "low."

Abstract

The increasing environmental issues demand environmental literacy among the younger generation. 21st-century learning with PjBL-based worksheet can make the learning process more interactive, contextual, and focused on solving real-world problems. This research aims to:(1) produce an E-worksheet with the PjBL model on environmental pollution that is feasible as a learning model for 10th grade high school; (2) produce an E-worksheet with the PjBL model on environmental pollution that is practically for biological teachers and 10th grade high school; (3) produce an E-worksheet with the PjBL model on environmental pollution that is effective in improving environmental literacy for 10th grade high school. This research uses the R&D mode, specifically the 4D model. The research instruments included interview sheets, practitioner assessment questionnaires, material and media validation sheets, and multiple-choice and descriptive test sheets. Based on the data obtained: (1) The E-worksheet with the PjBL model on the topic of environmental pollution is valid according to material and media experts, scoring in the "very good" category; (2) The E-worksheet is practical based on teacher assessment and student responses with scores included in the “very good” category ; (3) The research results indicate that the N-gain for cognitive domain environmental literacy is (<g> = 0.43) and for the affective domain is (<g> = 0.63), which are categorized as moderate. Based on this, it can be concluded that the Electronic Worksheets (E-worksheet) with the PjBL model is feasible and practical and can enhance the environmental literacy of class X SMA students.

Abstract

Backround- Biology learning should train students independence learning to optimize their science literacy. Objectives-Develop a discovery learning e-module based on the Mangunan pine forest to enhance the independence learning and science literacy of Phase E students on the topic of ecosystems. Methods-This research utilized the ADDIE design model for development. The study was conducted from January 2024-February 2025 at State Islamic High School 4 Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The research subjects were media and teaching material experts, subject matter experts, biology teachers, and students. Feasibility and practicality data were collected through product assessment sheets, independent learning through self-assessment sheets, and scientific literacy using essay questions. Feasibility and practicality data were analyzed both descriptively and quantitatively, while effectiveness was assessed using N-Gain and one-way MANOVA. Results-E-module was feasible and practical as a teaching material. The effectiveness test results showed that the N-Gain values for learning independence and science literacy in the experimental group were greater than those in the control group. The one-way manova test results showed that the e-module had a simultaneous effect on learning independence and science literacy. Conclusions-Involving the Mangunan pine forest in the discovery e-module can be an innovation in biology education, training students' learning independence and literacy.

Abstract

Learning process based on local potential has not been widely used in education, even though it is known that integrating local potential in education will make it easier for students to master subject matter because certain objects or phenomena can be seen directly. This research aims to analyze the local potential of Lake Toba waters to be used as a learning resource, especially regarding biodiversity topic. The research was carried out using an exploratory method to analyze and select various data sources related to the potential of Lake Toba as a learning source with secondary data types. The data obtained is then compiled, analyzed and concluded to obtain research results. The research results show that Lake Toba as one of the local potentials in the North Sumatra region has met the criteria required as a learning resource including the clarity of potential, alignment with educational goals, precision in targeting, transparent exploration guidelines, and a clear definition of anticipated benefits. Thus, it can be concluded that the local potential of Lake Toba can be used as a learning resource on biodiversity material in class X SMA/MA.

Abstract

This research aims to Producing learning media the PBL modeled LKPD based on the local potential of Mangrove Baros on environmental pollution material is suitable, practical and effective in enhancing the problem-solving abilities and environmental care attitudes of students in class X at SMAN 1 Kretek, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research follows a research and development approach using the Four-D (4D) model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Field trials of the LKPD PBL based on the local mangrove potential in Baros for environmental pollution materials were conducted through quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the field trial were 60 students from two classes. Data collection involved problem-solving ability test questions and questionnaires on environmental care attitudes. Data analysis was performed using the MANOVA test to analyze differences in students' problem-solving abilities and environmental care attitudes. The results of the MANOVA test indicated differences in the use of PBL modeled LKPD based on the local mangrove potential in Baros for environmental pollution materials concerning problem-solving abilities and environmental care attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-Module Integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on Enviromental Change Material and determine the practicality and feasibility of the developed product. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research using the Design and Development Research (D&DR) development model. The development procedure in this development model consists of 6 stages, namely identify the problem, describe the objectives, design and develop the artifact, test the artifact, evaluating testing results, and communicate the testing results. The subjects in this study were lecturer validators of material experts and media experts, biology teachers and students of class XI IPA SMA. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire instruments for validation of material experts and media experts as well as questionnaires for responses from biology teachers and students. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the media expert assessment gets a score of 76.7% with the category "feasible". The material expert assessment scored 98.3% with the category "very feasible". Biology teacher assessment scored 95% with the category "very practical", and student assessment scored 87.98% with the category "very practical". Based on the tests that have been carried out, it is known that the E-Module Integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on Enviromental Change Material developed is feasible and practical to use as teaching material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of E-LKPD Problem Based Learning (PBL) integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in ecosystem material to improve critical thinking skills and environmental literacy of SMA phase E students. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) study with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). E-LKPD was evaluated by experts, practitioners, and tested for its effectiveness on SMA N 1 Seyegan phase E students. Data collection instruments used interviews, questionnaires, and test instruments. Instrument validity techniques involve content validation by experts and empirical validation using statistical programs based on the magnitude of the Rcount ≥ Rtable value or Sig value < 0.05. Data analysis techniques use the manova test at a significance level of 0.05 and n-gain score. The results of this development research indicate that the development of E-LKPD is assessed from the feasibility of material experts and media experts to obtain a very good category; assessed from biology teacher practitioners and students to obtain a very practical category; and effectively improve critical thinking skills and environmental literacy of students. This result is supported by the average gain score results which show that there is an increase in critical thinking skills and environmental literacy of students in the fairly effective category of 0.60 and 0.72 whose learning uses E-LKPD PBL integrated with ESD.
