Abstract

The main purpose of the article is to increase understanding in some personal characteristics affecting creative performance among Indonesian radio station managers’ leadership context. Using creativity-relevant personal characteristics and motivation as input model, the authors identified that both of these two variables are positively related to creative performance. The study hypothesized that Leader-member exchange (LMX) moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and creative performance. Among a sample of 283 Indonesian radio station managers, results found that creativity-relevant personal characteristics and intrinsic motivation were positively related to creative performance when managers’ perception of followers’ work contribution toward them (as the second dimension of LMX) was high.

Abstract

This community service initiative focuses on universities' integration of science, technology, and expertise with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) partners. The program, part of the Partnership for Knowledge Management (PkM) framework, is designed to directly benefit economically productive micro-businesses, primarily in the fashion creative industry subsector, within Bandung city and district. The initiative involves the implementation of digital business simulations and mentoring for local MSMEs. A central component of this effort is a digital application that provides a visual dashboard illustrating market competition based on specific product attributes. This Decision Support System (DSS) assists MSME decision-makers. The collaboration includes Binus University, Mocaca.id, an e-commerce trading platform, and multiple local MSMEs in Bandung, West Java. The initiative's primary goal is to enhance MSME partner empowerment in the competitive business landscape. The project engaged four lecturers and four student interns, contributing to both research and program application development. Beyond its direct impact on businesses, this initiative benefits students and educators while advancing university key performance indicators, particularly in student internships, curriculum enrichment, research output, and institutional recognition (IKU 2, 5, 6, and 7). This partnership underscores the vital role of universities in supporting MSME innovation and competitiveness.

Abstract

This research investigates the performance of 38 Indonesian mutual funds, consisting of 21 fixed income funds and 17 equity funds, from August 2017 to May 2025. The evaluation employs various risk-adjusted performance measures, including the Sharpe ratio and Jensen’s alpha, as well as market timing analysis using the Treynor-Mazuy and Henriksson-Merton models. The results indicate that fixed income funds posted a higher average monthly return (0.34%) than both equity funds (0.08%) and the market index (0.30%). Notably, the risk-free rate (0.45%) surpassed the returns of all fund categories and the market. Performance analysis reveals that only 10 funds outperformed the market based on the Sharpe ratio, and just one fund recorded a statistically significant positive Jensen’s alpha. Similarly, market timing evaluation identified only one fund with a significant positive coefficient, suggesting effective market timing ability. These findings are consistent with the Efficient Market Hypothesis, implying that most Indonesian mutual funds are unable to consistently generate superior risk-adjusted returns or exhibit strong market timing skills. The study provides relevant insights for investors and fund managers regarding mutual fund selection and performance expectations in Indonesia. However, the research acknowledges limitations in sample size and scope, recommending that future studies include broader samples, longer observation periods, and additional explanatory variables to enrich the understanding of mutual fund performance in the Indonesian capital market.

Abstract

This study explores the business expansion strategies of 'MELAYA' in Indonesia, with a focus on leveraging community partnerships. Over the past decade, Indonesia's music and events industry has experienced substantial growth, driven by increasing public interest in concerts and festivals. The research aims to analyze how community partnerships can enhance the success of MELAYA's business expansion while addressing the intense competition from established players in the industry. MELAYA, which operates primarily in Bandung's music and event sector, faces challenges in securing partnerships and building brand awareness as it expands into other cities. Optimized digital marketing strategies are expected to foster trust in partnerships and support this expansion. The findings from this research are intended to provide insights into the effectiveness of community partnership strategies in driving event business growth and offer solutions to overcome competitive challenges in this dynamic industry.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the influence of workload and job satisfaction on quiet quitting, with leadership as a moderating variable, among lecturers at private universities in Indonesia. Methodology – A quantitative approach with survey method was employed. Data were collected from 130 lecturers at a private university using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Both direct relationships and the moderating effects of leadership were tested through interaction termsFindings – The results show that workload significantly increases quiet quitting, while job satisfaction does not have a significant effect on quiet quitting. Leadership moderates the relationship between workload and quiet quitting, but does not moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and quiet quitting.Originality/Value – By examining workload, job satisfaction, and leadership together, this study offers a fresh perspective on quiet quitting in higher education, introducing a moderation approach that remains rare in this context.Practical Implications – The findings suggest that managing workload effectively and investing in strong, supportive leadership are critical to reducing quiet quitting. Universities can use these insights to design leadership programs that not only ease the strain of heavy workloads but also foster conditions where lecturers remain engaged and committed.
