Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan membandingkan kemampuan representasi dan komunikasi matematis ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan gaya kognitif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain ex post facto. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji multivariat Hotelling’s Trace (T2) dan uji univariat t-Bonferroni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi prestasi belajar dan gaya kognitif yang membedakan representasi dan komunikasi matematis. Peserta didik field independent lebih baik dalam kemampuan representasi dan komunikasi matematis dibandingkan peserta didik field dependent, dan tingkat prestasi belajar membedakan kemampuan representasi dan komunikasi matematis.Kata kunci: representasi matematis, komunikasi matematis, prestasi belajar, dan gaya kognitif Mathematical representation and communication ability of senior high school students in terms of learning achievement and cognitive style AbstractThis study aims to describe mathematical and compare mathematical representation and communication ability in terms of learning achievement and cognitive style. Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan secara bertahap, mulai dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan evaluasi, serta refleksi. Dalam kegiatan perencanaan dilakukan Koordinasi dengan kelompok mitra dan menyepakati pelaksanaan kegiatan pada kelompok mitra, Sosialisasi program pelatihan media pembelajaran pada kelompok mitra, dan menyusun program pelatihan. Pada tahap tindakan implementasi Program Pelatihan Media pembelajaran dengan Program Adobe Premiere Pro untuk guru-guru di SMP Negeri 7 Muara Jambi. Selanjut tahap observasi dan evaluasi adalah Observasi dilakukan terhadap dalam proses mendesain media pembelajaran dengan Program Adobe Premiere Pro oleh para guru mitra. Dan tahap refleksi melakukan evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan yang telah dilaksanakan. Pelatihan dilakukan sesuai kesepakatan waktu antara tim pengabdian dan guru-guru di sekolah mitra. Kegiatan Pelatihan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 11 Agustus 2020 di SMA Negeri 7 Muara Jambi. Tahap terakhir adalah tindak lanjut dari pelatihan pemdampingan guru-guru dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran menggunakan Program Adobe Premiere Pro secara Online, di mana guru-guru merancang media dengan mengikuti petunjuk modul yang telah disediakan. Hasilnya guru–guru SMP Negeri 7 Muara Jambi dapat membuat media pembelajaran menggunakan Adobe Premiere Pro.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada guru di SMP Muhammadiyah Kuala Tungkal, SMP Negeri 5 Kuala Tungkal, dan SMA Negeri 5 Tanjung Jabung Barat mengenai penggunaan aplikasi Toontastic 3D dan Plotagon sebagai alat pembuatan film animasi pembelajaran. Metode kegiatan adalah melalui pelatihan atau workshop yang dilaksanakan secara tatap muka. Hasil workshop menunjukkan bahwa respon peserta pelatihan sangat positif dengan capaian nilai rata-rata sebesar 90,75% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Guru tertarik dan berkomitmen untuk terus belajar dan meningkatkan kompetensi dalam membuat film animasi pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Toontastic 3D dan Plotagon. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan yang telah dilakukan adalah guru-guru memahami dan dapat menggunakan aplikasi Toontastic 3D dan Plotagon untuk pembelajaran.

Abstract

Aplikasi class virtual yang digunakanan guru selama ini adalah antara lain whatsapp, google classroom, quizizz, dan zoom meeting. Dari aplikasi ini guru cenderung hanya menilai dari segi kognitif siswa, kurang memperhatikan penilaiaan sikap didalam Proses Pembelajaran. Salah satu aplikasi yang bisa menilai sikap serta bisa memberikan umpan balik secara lansung adalah class dojo. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk melatih guru dan siswa menggunakan aplikasi class dojo dan mempraktekkannya di dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi, angket, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil yang didapatkan Guru-guru di MTs Laboratorium memperoleh wawasan baru terkait media yang dapat digunakan untuk pembelajarna virtual, menunjukkan keterampilan literasi digital melalui penggunaan media class dojo dan merasakan manfaat kemudahan dan keefektifan melalui class dojo dalam pembelajaran. Selama penggunaan aplikasi class dojo dalam proses pembelajaran sebagian besar siswa dapat bekerja sama dan dalam kelompok-kelompok. Kegiatan berkelompok ini merupakan aktifitas diskusi dan saling membantu.

Abstract

Online computer-based assessments will make it easier for teachers to conduct evaluations quickly and correctly. The time and costs required to prepare for exam activities can be reduced as effectively and minimally as possible. Online assessment applications that teachers can use include Socrative. Socrative software allows teachers to get immediate feedback from all students by downloading a free app to their phones. After the teacher formulates the question, the system will capture the student's answer and immediately produce graphs and statistics, which makes it easier for the teacher to evaluate the level of understanding of the concept being explained. This service aims to train teachers to use the Socrative application to make assessments in blended learning. The service activity is assessment training using Socrative for teachers in blended learning. The results of this service in the form of training show that teachers at MTs Laboratory have gained new insights regarding making assessments in blended learning and are very interested in implementing them in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the development process and quality of STEM-based mathematics e-comics designed to enhance students’ creative thinking skills in flat-sided geometric materials for eighth-grade students at SMP. The study follows a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model. The test subjects included a team of experts, a mathematics teacher, and eighth-grade students at SMPN 56 Merangin. The findings indicated a high level of validity, with the e-comics receiving a validity rating of 100% in terms of media and 95,24% in terms of material. The practicality rating from teachers was 100%, and it was classified as very practical. The overall practicality of the e-comics also fell under the “very practical” criteria. The effectiveness of the e-comics, as determined by an effectiveness questionnaire, scored 81,91%, which was considered “very effective.” Furthermore, a test yielded an N-Gain score of 0,65 categorizing the e-comics as quite effective. Based on the N-Gain score, it can be concluded that STEM-based mathematics e-comics effectively improve students’ creative mathematical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Algebra is basically a problem-solving tool and the beginning of a journey that provides skills to solve more complex problems. In solving algebra problems it isnot enough to be proficient in counting, students must adapt the use ofsymbols/variables in their operations. This adjustment involves algebraic thinking.Algebraic thinking is an activity of generalizing mathematical problem patterns thatsupports three components, namely factual, contextual, and symbolicgeneralization. Teachers must be skilled in using learning media to support students'algebraic thinking process to run optimally in the learning process. One practicalmedium to use is an e-module. However, conventional e-modules tend to only displayvisuals in the form of static images. To be able to create interactive e-modules thatare able to combine audio, visual, and ICT components, a supporting platform isneeded. One platform that can be used is Book Creator. Book Creator is equippedwith features for designing and inserting various forms of learning material, suchas documents, power points, videos, images, and audio. The aim of this service is totrain teachers in designing interactive e-Mabar (algebra e-modules) using BookCreator to improve algebraic Thinking. The method used is descriptive qualitative.Data collection techniques used were observation, questionnaires, documentation,and interviews. The results obtained by the Muaro Jambi Regency Middle SchoolMathematics MGMP teachers gained new insights regarding learning mediamakers in designing modules and they were very interested in implementing them inlearning

Abstract

This study analyzes students' spatial abilities based on Field Independence (FI) and Field Dependence (FD) cognitive styles in the context of geometry learning. The research background is a difficulty that is often faced by students with the FD cognitive style in understanding geometric concepts. The main purpose of this study is to compare the spatial abilities of FI and FD students and identify the factors that cause the difficulties of FD students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subject involved 6 students, consisting of 3 FI students and 3 FD students, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the results of the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). Data were collected through interviews, observations, and tests, then analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that FI students had superior spatial abilities compared to FD students, meeting the indicators of spatial perception, visualization, mental rotation, spatial relationships, and spatial orientation. In contrast, FD students have difficulty meeting most of these indicators. Factors that contribute to FD students' difficulties include dependence on the environment, lack of self-confidence, and lack of understanding of prerequisite materials. This study provides important implications for more effective learning strategies in overcoming students' difficulties in learning geometry, especially by considering the differences in students' cognitive styles.

Abstract

Penelitian R&D (Research and Develompment) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya proses pembelajaran matematika materi barisan dan deret, yaitu terbatasnya bahan ajar yang menarik dan kurang aktifnya peserta didik selema proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini ditujukan mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa e-modul matematika berbasis STEM yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yaitu Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu Dosen Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Jambi sebagai tim ahli, guru matematika dan 24 siswa kelas XI IPS 1 SMA PGRI 2 Kota Jambi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi materi dan desain, angket praktikalitas, angket respon siswa serta tes kemampuan literasi matematis. Hasil validasi e-modul pada aspek materi mencapai 93,68% dan pada aspek desain diperoleh 86,6% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan e-modul oleh guru matematika diperoleh 90% dan hasil uji kepraktisan oleh siswa mencapai 87% berada dalam kategori sangat praktis. Hasil uji keefektifan oleh siswa adalah 84,3% dan hasil tes kemampuan literasi matematis yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa setelah menggunakan e-modul dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga e-modul berbasis STEM berbantuan aplikasi wondershare quiz creator materi barisan dan deret ini layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the level of metacognitive ability in mathematical problem solving in terms of Honey-Mumford learning style in class XI students. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The results obtained in this study through test data, Think aloud, and interviews that have been conducted by the eight subjects are found that the eight subjects are able to determine the information contained in the problem given. The eight subjects were also able to develop a solution plan, even making conclusions from the given solution steps. However, all eight subjects had weaknesses in re-examining the answers, and only some of the subjects were able to correct the mistakes made. Therefore, the conclusion that can be given in this study related to the level of metacognitive abilities in mathematical problem solving in terms of Honey-Mumford's learning style is that and subjects are at the Strategic use metacognitive ability level. While and subjects are at the Reflective use metacognitive ability level.
