Abstract

Sea urchins Diademasetosum can be found in shallow waters. Sea urchin gonads are nutritionally valuable and capable of accumulating heavy metals. This study aims to determine the moisture content, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrate, Pb, Cd metal content and determine the Maximum Tolerable Intake (MTI) of sea urchin D. setosum gonads. Gonad samples were obtained from three coasts of Huangobotu, Botubarani and Kurenai, Kabila Bone Sub-district, Bone Bolango Regency, using a purposive sampling technique. Gonads were analyzed proximate, including moisture, ash, protein, fat and carbohydrate content. Analysis of Pb and Cd levels using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results were analyzed statistically using One-Way ANOVA Test. The results showed that the average moisture, ash, protein, fat, and carbohydrate content of gonads on the coast of Huangobotu, Botubarani, and Kurenai were significantly different (p0.005); moisture content 71.91%, 75.04%, 78.51%; ash content 1.88%, 1.15%, 2.76%; protein content 9.90%, 12.81%, 15.53%; fat content 7.33%, 3.05%, 4.84%; carbohydrate content 2.35%, 7.92%, 4.93%. Pb levels were significantly different (p0.005) 0.063 mg/kg, 0.039 mg/kg, and 0.018 mg/kg, respectively; Cd levels were not significantly different (p0.005) 0.020 mg/kg, 0.012 mg/kg, 0.014 mg/kg respectively. MTI Pb adults 23.8kg, 38.4kg, 83.3kg, children 5.9kg, 9.6kg, 20.8kg. MTI Cd adults 21kg, 35kg, 30kg, children 5.25kg, 8.75kg, 7.5kg. D. setosumhas potential as a source of protein and can be utilized as food by considering the MTI value.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the types, characteristics, diversity and distribution patterns of sea cucumbers in Bajo Village, Tilamuta District, Boalemo Regency. This research was conducted for 3 months starting from August to October 2022. Data collection on sea cucumber was carried out at 3 stations with 3 quadrants at each station with a quadrant size 4×25 meters, samples were taken at low tide during the day and at night. In addition, measurements of the physical and chemical quality parameters of the waters were also carried out. Based on the results of the study, 9 species pf sea cucumbers were found in Bajo Village, Tilamuta Sub District: Holothuria scabra, Holothuria atra, Holothuria coluber, Holothuria fuscocinerea, Stichopus vastus/gammat, Holothuria hilla, Actinopyga miliaris, Bohadchia similis, and Synapta maculata. Moreover, the abundance of sea cucumbers in the waters of Bajo Village, Tilamuta Sub District, Boalemo Regency, was found during daytime sampling. The diversity of sea cucumbers in the waters of Bajo Village ranges from 1,59–1,89 which is included in the medium category according to the Shannon-Wiener. In short, the distribution pattern of sea cucumbers in the waters of Bajo Village is more dominant in living in groups.

Abstract

Polohungo Village is a village located in Dulupi District, Boalemo Regency. Polohungo Village Owned by the Village Enterprise (BUMDes) which is used as an alternative in developing the village's potential in increasing community income. However, in the management of BUMDes in Polohungo Village it was found that the objectives in establishing the BUMDes had not been fulfilled, because the community's income and contributions did not match the expected goals. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize BUMDes governance in Polohungo Village. Community service activities were carried out in Polohungo Village, Dulupi District, Boalemo for 45 days, starting from October 4th to November 18th 2022. The training was carried out by providing socialization and training on BUMDes governance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discover the composition, dominance index value, and zoning pattern of mangrove plant in Pentadu Barat Village, Tilamuta Subdistrict, Boalemo Regency. This study was conducted from January to March 2023. The sampling method is purposive sampling using 10 × 10 cm linear transect for tree, 5 × 5 cm linear transect for saplings, and 2.5 × 2.5 cm linear transect for seedlings. The mangrove sample is descriptively and quantitatively analysed by identifying the species to calculate the type compositions and dominance index using Microsoft Excel. The result of the study reveals 12 species of 4 families from 3 study location (Avicennia alba, Avicennia officinalis, Bruguiera cylindrical, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera parviflora, Ceriops decandraCeriops tagal, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Sonneratia alba and Xylocarpus granatum). The type composition value was 35% from Rhizophora mucronata. The average dominance index value was 0.0174. The zoning pattern was mixedbecause it grows mixed with each other among several species.
