Abstract

Tujuan jangka panjang penelitian ini adalah mengungkap performans reproduksi ayam Arab betina pradewasa yang dipajankan pada fotoperiode yang berbeda. Target khusus terfokus pada perkembangan folikel dan oviduk ayam Arab pradewasa yang di pajankan pada fotoperiode yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak lengkap, terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan foto-periode yang diberikan adalah fotoperiode pendek (16G:8T), fotoperiode sedang (12T:12G), fotoperiode panjang (16T:8G) dan kontrol. Pemberian fotoperiode di-lakukan selama 8 minggu dengan intensitas cahaya yang digunakan sebesar 100 lux. Parameter yang diamati yaitu jumlah dan berat folikel. Adapun analisis statistik yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah uji Kruskall-Wallis (Uji H) dengan taraf kekeliruan 0,05%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah folikel dan berat folikel ayam arab pradewasa yang dipajankan pada fotoperiode dapat meningkat.

Abstract

This Research aim to study influence of alternative weft administration and amputation of fin tail go with the tide to maturity index of gonad (Oreochromis niloticus L). This research used of the factorial eksperiment. First factor was amputation of fin tail and second factor was alternative weft administration. Amputation of fin tail was nila fish which was not be cut tail fin, nila fish crosscut by semi from tail fin length, and nila fish crosscut by all from tail fin length (to a point last vertebrae). Alternative weft administration was small shrimp, bran admistration; small shrimp, tahu waste admistration; bran, tahu waste adminisstration; bran, tahu waste, small shrimp admistration and natural weft adminisstration . Becoming subyek in this research was 180 nila fish old age 2 months. Variable perceived at this research was maturity index of gonad fish. Quantitative data will be analysed by statistic by using Analysis of Varians (ANAVA) and when signifikan continued with Least significance Difference. Result of research demonstrated that alternative weft administration and amputation of tail fin can improve maturity index of gonad fish. Abstract

The aims of this research was to study the effects of cod liver oil on microanatomic structure of rats liver (Rattus norvegicus, L.). The present research used of Completely Randomized Design comprised of 25 Wistar males, randomly divided into five groups (A, B, C, D, and E). Group A was assigned as control, whereas B, C, D, and E were given cod liver oil with doses of 0,5, 1, 1,5, and 2 ml/b w/ day for 8 weeks, respectively. The parameters observed were microanatomic structure of rats liver (Rattus norvegicus, L.). The determination of liver for microanatomic preparation were done at the end of treatments. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The research demonstrated that rats liver cells underwent plasmolyses, cloudy swelling degenerations, hydrophic degenerations, fatty degenerations and necroses (pycnoses and karyorrhexis).

Abstract

Desa Iloheluma merupakan salah satu desa yang menjadi prioritas penanganan stunting tahun 2019. Intervensi stunting dapat dilakukan melalui pemanfaatan pangan lokal sumber protein dan zink seperti kerang dan kelor. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang potensi pangan lokal, dan menghasilkan produk pangan lokal yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pencegahan dan penanggulangan stunting di desa Iloheluma. Target yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang sadar stunting, meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemberdayaan potensi lokal untuk perbaikan gizi, dan dihasilkannya produk pangan yang bervariasi berbasis kerang dan kelor yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan tambahan balita. Metode pelaksanan kegiatan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan.  Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan ini, yaitu mahasiswa peserta KKN PPM dan masyarakat telah memiliki pengetahuan tentang stunting, faktor penyebab, memahami sumber sumber makanan lokal yang berkaitan dengan pencegahan stunting, mampu menghasilkan produk yang berupa kerupuk kerang darah, bakso kerang darah, nugget kerang darah, dan bubur daun kelor, dan terbentuk kelompok ibu –ibu PKK yang secara mandiri mempraktekkan pembuatan bubur kelor yang diimplementasi dalam kegiatan Posyandu. Kegiatan KKN PPM ini mendapat dukungan yang sangat besar dari pemerintah Desa dan Kecamatan yang diwujudkan dengan program penanaman 1000 pohon kelor di desa desa Kecamatan Patilanggio. Kata kunci: Kelor., Kerang., Pemberdayaan, Stunting. Abstract  Iloheluma village is one of the priority villages for stunting eradication program in 2019. Stunting intervention can be implemented through the utilization of local food sources as the sources of protein and zinc, including clams and moringa. This study was aimed at increasing people’s knowledge of local food products potential and producing local food products that could be utilized to prevent and curb stunting in Iloheluma village. The main activity was to increase community awareness on stunting, to increase community participation in local potential empowerment to improve nutritional status, and to produce local food products variety based on clams and moringa that could be used as additional meals for under five-year-old children. These objectives were met through training and intensive community assistance. This activity revealed that the students as participants of community outreach (KKN PPM) and the local community have understood the notion of stunting and the causes as well as the source of local food products related to stunting prevention. Further, they can produce blood cockle chips, and blood cockle -based meatballs, blood cockle nugget, and moringa leave porridge, and have established women’s group, which independently practiced the making of moringa porridge in Posyandu activity. The KKN PPM activity has gained support from village and sub-district level governments, in which they have planted 1000 moringa trees in villages around the Patilanggio sub-district. Keywords: Moringa, Clams, Empowerment, Stunting.

Abstract

Cockle (or “bia” in Gorontalo language) and lime (“limu” in Gorontalo language) can be found in Olele village, which is located nearby Tomini bay. The objective of this community service program was to disseminate information regarding the chemical content of the shell of cockles and the addition of lemon extract as a preservative, which has the potential as an eco-friendly toothpaste, to society. Further, this program was also aimed at improving people’s skills in processing the two products. The program consisted of mentoring and training activities. It was revealed that the program improved the knowledge of the local community, especially fishermen’s wives and the participants of the program, regarding the content of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) within the shells of cockle at 12,254.64 mg/kg, which could be used as a material of natural, eco-friendly toothpaste. On top of that, the people were also aware of the utility of lime as a preservative material. This community service program received support from the governance of Olele village. Further follow-ups would be designed in the form of innovative village competition.  Keywords: Shells of cockles; lemon; society, toothpaste

Abstract

 The incidence of stunting under five is a major nutritional problem faced by Indonesia. The research aimed to determine relationship of the social, economic, and environmental factors related with   stunting occurrenceintoddlers 10-59 months at Health Centers Gorontalo District. This research was done on the population of toddlers who experience stunting in 2019 recorded in 7Health Centers. The data was collected from 98 samples by applying the purposive sampling method. The research instrument was done by using a questionnaire. Data analysis employs univariate, bivariate analysis and chi-square test with the help of software SPSS version 21. The result showed that the social factors, namely mother's education with the p-value of 0,000 OR =  12,375 CI = 4,560-33,584, and economic factors, namely income with the p-value of 0,000 OR = 11,719 CI = 3,652 – 38,605 and environmental factors, namely  waste disposal facilities with the p-value of 0,000 OR = 12,813 CI = 4,815 -34,097. Based on these result, it can be stated that social factors, especially mother's education, economic factors, especially income, and  environmental factors, especially waste disposal facilities have a significant relationship with stunting occurrence in toddlers 10-59 months at the Health Centers Gorontalo District.

Abstract

Abstract                 Stunting is a major nutritional problem that will have an impact on social and economic life in society. Stunting can affect children under five in the long term so that it interferes with their health, education and productivity in the future. Improving nutritional status is one of the eight goals to be achieved in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The novelty of this research is the level of examining differences in hair zinc and hemoglobin levels of stunting and non-stunted toddlers.The purpose of this study was to determine differences in zinc levels, Hb levels and how they affect children who suffer from stunting and non-stunting. The research method uses observational analytic methods using a case control design. The population in this study was divided into two, namely the population of children under five years of age 0-59 months suffering from stunting and non-stunting. Test the difference between Hb and Zinc using an independent t test. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to see the effect of Hb and Zinc on the incidence of stunting. The results of the study found that there was an effect of Hb and Zinc on stunted and non-stunted children, namely Hb had an effect of 0.637 with a P-value of the Wald test (sig.) of 0.602 or 0.05 and Zinc had an effect of -0.059 with a P-value of the Wald test. (sig.) of 0.116 or 0.05. Conklusion the better the zinc level, the lower the incidence of stunting in children, but it is not significant to the incidence of stunting.Abstrak Stunting merupakan masalah gizi utama yang akan berdampak pada kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi dalam masyarakat. Stunting dapat berpengaruh pada anak balita pada jangka panjang sehingga mengganggu kesehatan, pendidikan serta produktifitasnya di kemudian hari. Perbaikan status gizi menjadi salah satu dari delapan tujuan yang akan dicapai dalam Millenium Development Goals (MDGs). Kebaruan penelitian ini adalah meneliti perbedaan kadar Zinc Rambut dan kadar Hemoglobin Balita stunting dan non stunting. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni mengetahui perbedaan kadar zinc, kadar Hb dan bagaimana pengaruh pada anak yang menderita stunting dan non stunting. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode analitik observsional dengan menggunakan desain case conrol. Populasi pada penelitian ini dibagi menjadi dua yakni populasi anak balita 0-59 bulan yang menderita stunting dan non stunting. Uji perbedaan Hb dan Zinc menggunakan uji t independent. Analisis regresi logistic biner digunakan untuk meilhat pengaruh Hb dan Zinc terhadap kejadian stunting. Hasil penelitian menemukan  terdapat pengaruh Hb dan Zinc terhadap anak stunting dan non stunting yakni Hb berpengaruh sebesar 0,637 dengan nilai P-value uji Wald (sig.) sebesar 0,602 atau 0,05 dan Zinc berpengaruh sebesar -0,059 dengan nilai P-value uji Wald (sig.) sebesar 0,116 atau 0,05. Kesimpulan Semakin bagus kadar zinc maka akan semakin mengurangi  terjadinya stunting pada anak namun tidak signifikan terhadap kejadian stunting.    Kata kunci: Stunting, Hb, zinc

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding suanggi orange juice (Citrus medica) to the lead content of blood clam shell toothpaste (Anadara granosa). The research was carried out at the Laboratory of the Department of Biology, FMIPA, state University of Gorontalo. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Data analysis used One Ways Analysis of Variance and Duncan’s test at 5% level. The result showed that the addition of suanggi orange juice reduced the levels of lead in blood clam shell toothpaste (Anadara granosa). The addition of suanggi orange juice significantly reduced the levels of lead (p=0.000). the lead content of toothpaste added with 6 mL of orange suanggi is 0,036 ppm and is below the limit for Pb contamination on toothpaste according to SNI 8816:2020 which is 20.0 mg/kg.

Abstract

Suruhan plant is one of the plants that has properties for treatment in various diseases such as diabetes mellitus, headache, fever, and rheumatism. The plant contains antioxidants, antimicrobials and anticancers. Proximate content analysis is important to be used as data on the content of a foodstuff. One way to increase the content to be more useful is by cultivating using organic fertilizer. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of organic fertilizers on the content of proximate, minerals on the plants. The method used was descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted in Bua Village, Batudaa District, Gorontalo Regency. Sample preparation of surname plants was carried out at the Biology Laboratory of the State University of Gorontalo for proximate and mineral analysis carried out at the Analysis Laboratory of the Bogor Pacapanen Center. The research was carried out in August-September 2020. Based on the results showed that on the content of proximate and minerals in the commission plants given organic fertilizer obtained water content of 26.60%, ash content of 16.80%, fat content of 2.58%, protein content of 13.86%, carbohydrates 40.16%, iron (Fe) 18.74 ppm, calcium (Ca) 255.92 ppm.

Abstract

There is a high incidence of stunting in various villages across Indonesia these days. One of the reasons these problems are difficult to solve is the lack of knowledge and understanding by the community. The goal of the local food edu-digital website implementation program is to increase community knowledge of stunting and the use of local foods that can help overcome stunting in Sari Murni Village, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. In this service program, three activities are carried out: 1) data collection for website content, 2) creation of local food edu-digital websites, and 3) website management training. Through this activity, we obtained (1) digital documentation consisting of text, images, and videos, and (2) an information sistem containing information about stunting, local food potential which can be overcome stunting, and local food processing methods, in addition to village information about development and activities.
