Abstract

One of the problems of the fishing community of milkfish (Chanos chanos) Mootinelo Village, North Gorontalo District was the selling price of fish is cheap. That was because the milkfish has many thorns so that less favored communities. However, milkfish has a high excess nutrients especially unsaturated fatty acids omega-3 (ω3) reached 14.2 and a protein content of 20. In relation with it, this activity aims to increase the sale value of milkfish through training activities thorn fish and diversified products. The method used was the training activities thorn fish, dan accompaniment of activities to pull out the fish milk spines to produce diversification products, followed by mentoring partner groups, especially women and households, as well as the surrounding communities who have the desire to entrepreneurship. The activities were practiced partner groups thorn fish suit the morphology and position structure thorns fish. The result was a fish without spines can be sold to consumers or processed into products, such as nuggets, meatballs, krispy milkfish, and a traditional menu of Gorontalo fish area such as rica-rica and woku fish. The conclusion is milkfish without spines have a profitable business opportunity with the increase in the selling price of milkfish without spines. It can increase the income of fishing communities in the fish ponds in the Mootinelo Village, North Gorontalo District.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penambahan susu sapi terhadap kadar asam laktat pada pembuatan yoghurt jagung manis oleh Streptococcus thermophillus dan Latobacillus bulgaricus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan 7 perlakuan (0%,10%, 20%,   30%, 40%, 50% dan 60%) dan 4 ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dengan taraf kepercayaan 0.05% untuk membedakan antar perlakuan digunakan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukan penambahan susu sapi berpengaruh terhadap kadar asam laktat pada pembuatan yoghurt jagung manis oleh Streptococcus thermophillus dan Latobacillus bulgaricus.Kata Kunci:Susu Sapi, Sari Jagung, Asam Laktat, Yoghurt

Abstract

The research aimed to find out the effect of suruhan (Peperomia pellucida) leaves extract to the mortality of Aedes aegypti. The method applied in this research was laboratory experiments.The research was conducted in Zoology Laboratory of Department of Biology, State University of Gorontalo, from August to September 2019. The research employed Completely Randomized Design (CRD) through 4 treatments namely 0%, 15%, 20%, and 25%, as well as 3 replications. In Addition, every treatment involved 10-second instar larvae of Aedes aegypti as test animal. The ANAVA F-Test analysis was to find out the effect of treatment to mortality of Aedes aegypti and LSD (Least Significant Difference) analysis was to find out difference of every treatment. The mortality of Aedes aegypti was not found at concentration 0%, the mortality of Aedes aegypti with average 2,33 animals were found at concentration 15%, the mortality of Aedes aegypti with average 5,00 animals were found at concentration 20%, and the mortality of Aedes aegypti with average 6,67 animals were found at concentration 25%. Abstract

Prevention of the spread of drugs in the community is actually a shared responsibility. In this case, all parties including the community itself and the government must play an active role in being aware of the threat of drugs. Research results from the National Narcotics Agency of Gorontalo Province show that as many as 80% of users are teenagers. As many as 13,710 or 5.8% of students and college students have used drugs. The rate of increase in drug users is about 29% each year. Based on Narcotics Case Report Data (LKN) at the National Narcotics Agency of Gorontalo Province (BNNP), the number of drug cases in Gorontalo for 3 years, from 2015 to 2017 there was an increase every year. In 2017 it increased again by 18 LKN (BNNP, 2017). in 2020 it was known that Gorontalo Province was one of the areas which was a red zone for drug trafficking in Indonesia.Therefore, in dealing with this, steps and strategies are needed as an effort to prevent the spread and abuse of drugs in the community.The program given is expected to focus on eradication and prevention, one of which is through preventive methods. By applying a preventive method and supported by a cultural approach by prioritizing the habits and customs of the people of Cisadane Village, then through the Thematic Community Service Program in Shining Village, which will be carried out in Cisadane Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency, it is hoped that it can prevent and eradicate the spread and abuse of drugs. among the local community.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a learning tools based guided inquiry, suitable for use to increase student learning outcomes and scientific literacy on the concepts of cell division. Learning devices are developed using a design put forward by Borg & Gall. Learning tools validation by three validator. Trials practicality and effectiveness performed on students of class XII IPA 2 in SMA 1 Suwawa. Data collected analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Data validity analysis based on conversion quantitative data to qualitative data with a Likert scale. Data analysis implementation of learning, and student activities done on the results of observations. Data obtained from the results of the pretest and posttes were analyzed using the normalized gain formula. The results of the study show that learning tools developed show very valid criteria with an average score of validators for lesson plans with a minimum of 44 and LKPD of 19. Practicality and effectiveness of learning devices through limited trials shows that the learning process has a minimum score of 79, the activities of students get a minimum score of 77, with minimum criteria good; and mastery of students' concepts based on N-gain calculation get a minimum scores of 79 with minimum criteria of height. This shows that learning devices are developed meet the requirements of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, so that proper to use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe Hg-resistant bacteria in soil contaminated with gold mining waste and its ability to reduce mercury contamination. This research was initiated by taking soil samples at the gold processing plant in Ilangata Village, Anggrek District, North Gorontalo Regency. Then the research was carried out at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Mercury analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of Fisheries Product Quality Development and Testing (LPPMHP) Gorontalo Province and bacterial identification was carried out at the HumRC Research Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University. The study was conducted from July to October 2020. This study used a descriptive method. The parameters observed were the types of Hg resistant bacteria and the ability of the bacteria to reduce mercury contamination. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were four bacterial isolates on the soil contaminated with mercury at 4.5 ppm. Two of them could not be resistant to levels of 10 ppm mercury. However, these four isolates had the ability to reduce mercury levels by 99%. Based on the reconstruction of the phylogenetic tree, bacterial isolate 01 has a close relationship with Stenotrophomonas sp. SB67, while bacterial isolate 02 had a close relationship with Enterobacter cloacae strain CM 1 16S, bacterial isolate 03 was identified as Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and bacterial isolate 04 was a bacterium from the genus Bacillus which was closely related to Bacillus albus strain SQ30 16S.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh volume perasan buah Citrus medica dan ukuran partikel tepung cangkang Anadara granosa terhadap nilai viskositas, daya sebar, pH dan organoleptik pasta gigi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Jurusan Biologi, FMIPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu faktor volume perasan buah Citrus medica (0 mL, 2 mL, 4 mL dan 6 mL) dan faktor ukuran partikel tepung cangkang Anadara granosa (140 mesh dan 200 mesh). Analisis data menggunakan Analisis Varians Two Ways dan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa volume perasan buah Citrus medica 0 mL, 2 mL, 4 mL dan 6 mL dan ukuran partikel tepung cangkang Anadara granosa 140 mesh dan 200 mesh berpengaruh terhadap nilai viskostas, daya sebar, pH dan organoleptik warna, aroma, tekstur serta rasa pasta gigi. Semua kombinasi perlakuan pada penelitian ini memiliki interaksi yang signifikan (<0,05) terhadap nilai viskositas, pH dan organoleptik warna, tekstur serta rasa pasta gigi, namun tidak memiliki interaksi yang signifikan terhadap nilai daya sebar dan nilai organoleptik aroma pasta gigi. Perlakuan ukuran partikel tepung 140 mesh dengan penambahan volume perasan 6 mL memiliki kualitas fisikokimia pasta gigi sesuai syarat mutu SNI.
