Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of transformational leadership and organizational commitment on job satisfaction and employee performance. To achieve these objectives done gathering data by means of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were administered to respondents (employees), to further analyzed using path analysis (path analysis). The employee population as many as 74 employees. With the population of more than 74 employees will use the entire population as the sample (sample saturated). Based on the analysis that the obtained results transformational leadership influence on employee job satisfaction. Organizational commitment influence on employee satisfaction. Job satisfaction influence on employee performance. Transformational leadership influence on employee performance. Organizational commitment influence on employee performance. For further research is expected to add another variable that is thought to affect satisfaction and employee performance so that the scope of the research results could be wider.

Abstract

Withholding effort is a tendency employee to reduce work contribution as the possibility of an individual in giving less than maximum effort on tasks associated with the job. The purpose of this study is to analyze the remuneration fairness influences, supervisor competencies and group cohesiveness on withholding effort. The population in this study was all administrative employees with the status of civil servants and probationary civil servants who were actively working in the Institute Hindu Dharma Negeri Denpasar. The number of respondents were 80 people. The research data was primary data obtained from questionnaires. This study used confirmatory factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis as analytic technique. The results show that fairness of remuneration has a negative and significant effect on the withholding effort, supervisor competencies has a negative and significant effect on the withholding effort, group cohesiveness  has a negative and significant effect on the withholding effort.

Abstract

Maternal and child health (MCH) program plays a vital role in improving mother and child health. The success of such a program depends on the quality of service obtained from health care providers. The MCH program coverage in Gianyar District is still below the national target. This study aims to determine the relationship between staff characteristics, motivation and financial incentive upon the performance of MCH workers in public health care centres. The study design was cross-sectional with sample of 70 people. Samples were selected using a systematic random sampling. The independent variables were age, duration of employment, education, training, motivation and financial incentive while the dependent variable was the official performance. Data was collected using interview and observation. Data were analysed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square) and multivariate (logistic regression) analysis. The majority of respondents 41 (58.6%) were lower age, shorter tenure 39 (55.7%), college-educated 57 (81.4%), 36 (51.4%) had received training, 42 (60.0%) of participants demonstrated low motivation, 47 (60.7%) were influenced by amount of financial incentives and high performance staff is only 40 (57.1%). From the bivariate analysis, there was a significant association between training [OR=2.88; 95%CI: 1.08-7.67], motivation [OR=6.77; 95%CI: 2.15-21.29] and financial incentives [OR=4.09; 95%CI: 1.30-12.85] and staff performance. From the multivariate analysis, only training [OR=6.11; 95%CI: 1.61-23.23], motivation [OR=7.48; 95%CI: 1.81-30.93] and financial incentives [OR=5.09; 95%CI: 1.12-23.21) were found to have significant association. Based on study findings, there is a need to increase incentive and further staff training to increase staff motivation to improve the overall performance output.

Abstract

The incidence of cervical cancer is high in Bali (0.8%), and more than 70% of cases are detected at an advanced stage (above 2B), making it difficult to treat. Prevention efforts are still very low; the Badung District only financed 1567 vaccinations from 8784 senior high school students, accounting for around 17.8%. Vaccination requires substantial funds, and its sustainability required community participation. This cross-sectional study aims to determine the relationship between the variables of perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, education and employment with the willingness of the parents to cover the costs of vaccination. A study was conducted using 196 samples from 595 populations selected by systematic random sampling, consisting of mothers of grade one high school students at SMU Petang, SMU 2 Mengwi, and SMU 1 North Kuta. The data was obtained through self-administered questionnaires. Perceived benefits and severity were measured by assessing the answers to open questions and pre-coded. Chi square and logistic regression tests were applied when analyzing the data. The results of the analysis show that willingness of parents to cover the cost is still low (43%) with 70% of respondents willing to pay less than Rp. 237,500 for three doses. Bivariate analysis found that: perceived susceptibility [RP=1,31; 95%CI: 1,04-1,67], perceived severity [RP=1,57; 95%CI: 1,20-2,05], perceived benefits [RP=1,84; 95%CI: 1,39-2,45], education [RP=1,64; 95%CI: 1,05-2,57], perceived barriers [RP=0,89; 95%CI: 0,70-1,15] and occupation [RP=1,18; 95%CI: 0,87-1,60]. From the results it can be concluded that the perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and education are related to the willingness of the parents to cover vaccine costs, however, perceived barriers and occupation were not shown to be associated. The related dominant factor is perceived benefits. It is suggested that health promotion should emphasise on the benefits of the vaccination and cervical cancer malignancy rates in order to increase people's willingness to cover cervical cancer vaccination costs.
