Abstract

Students' mathematical abilities are still considered low due to the lack of students' mathematical connection abilities. One effort that can be done in overcoming the low ability of students' mathematical connections is to involve the culture around students in the learning process. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical connection ability through the application of learning strategies based on local wisdom a'bulo sibatang, assamaturu, mappesabbi and sipakatau. The research method used is a quantitative quasi-experimental type of nonequivalent control group design. Through purposive sampling technique, it was obtained class XI MIPA 3 (experimental class) and XI MIPA 1 (control class). The instrument used is a test to indicators of mathematical connection ability. The results showed an increase in indicator of mathematical connection ability in the experimental class, namely 88.52% indicator I, 85.35% indicator II and 83.87% indicator III. Meanwhile, in the control class applied problem-based learning strategies only got a score of 65%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that local wisdom-based learning in the experimental class is able to improve students' mathematical connection ability better than the control class that applies problem-based learning.

Abstract

Batteries are one of the secondary interests that are needed in everyday life. The increasing use of batteries causes a buildup of used batteries that have been thrown away so far. In fact, battery waste includes waste that is difficult to decompose and contains hazardous and toxic materials, so it requires special handling in dealing with it. One effort that can be done is to recycle used batteries through processing banana peel waste into an electrolyte paste to replace carbon in the battery. This processing is carried out through dissemination of practical processing to PKK Dusun Kallimpo, Palakka Village, Kahu District with the product in the form of Bio-Battery. The activity was carried out in three stages, namely socialization, training and monitoring. The end result of this service is an increase in the knowledge and skills of PKK Dusun Kallimpo partners in processing banana peels into Bio-Battery as seen from the positive partner preferences with a percentage of 98%.

Abstract

Black glutinous rice is a potential commodity in Latellang Village. However, this potential is not empowered because there is no counseling or other service activities in processing black glutinous rice. The community, especially partners, namely the Maddaung Farmer Group, do not take full advantage of black glutinous rice and only process it into delicious snacks and served at certain times. Therefore, this community service aims to maximize the potential of black glutinous rice by diversifying processed black glutinous rice products into coffee and tea. This product has never existed or been introduced by extension workers or replicated other product innovations, especially in Bone Regency. Community empowerment through this community service program is carried out through three main stages: counseling, training, and mentoring. The results of the program implementation are that partners can find out information on the benefits of processing black glutinous rice and have skills in diversifying products into tea and coffee. In addition, partners have also been able to process finances and market products through the marketplace with an increase in productivity of 98%. The impact of this service can realize sustainable development goals, namely healthy and prosperous villages.

Abstract

Batteries are one source of electrical energy that is still an important need in everyday life. However, battery waste contains hazardous and toxic chemicals that require proper handling to deal with it. One of them is by procuring alternative batteries that are more environmentally friendly by utilizing banana peel. Banana peel has a content that can be ionized and conduct electricity, so it is appropriate to be used as an electrolyte paste that has optimum battery life. Processing of banana peel waste into an alternative battery (bio-battery) was carried out by PKK Dusun Kallimpo through three stages, namely socialization, training and monitoring. This service program provides supplies to partners in overcoming battery needs through their own production to reduce the cost of purchasing batteries, and can be an update for science and technology as the forerunner of future energy, so that partners are able to create prosperous and competitive families..
