Abstract

Abstract:This research is a development research that aims to produce learning tools, namely syllabus, lesson plans and student activity sheets (LAS) using the Problem Based Learning model with an open ended approach on the material of the Three Variable Linear Equation System for class X SMA/MA. This research is motivated by the importance of learning tools so that the arrangement is carried out as a form of planning from the steps of the learning process which are structured according to the objectives to be achieved. The development model used is the 4D model which consists of the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The learning tools that have been developed are validated by three validators and revised according to the validator's suggestions. The average validation score for the syllabus was 90.69%, RPP was 95.89%, and LAS was 93.23% with very valid categories. The results of this validation indicate that the syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS are feasible to be tested. The valid LAS was then tried out in small groups. The average result of the small group trial for LAS was 3.56 in the very practical category. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the syllabus, lesson plans and LAS developed using the Problem Based Learning model with the Open Ended approach in the material of the Three Variable Linear Equation System for class X SMA/MA have met the valid and practical criteria.Keywords : Learning Tools, Problem Based Learning Model, Open Ended Approach, ThreeVariable Linear Equation System, 4D Development Model.

Abstract

Abstrack: The background of this study is students low mathematice achievement of X grade at SMK Kesehatan pro-skill Indonesia. This research conducted in second semester of academic years 2016/2017. The aimed of study is to find out whether there is significant effect of using “Kancing Gemerincing” as a technique in cooperative learning (STAD) toward mathematice achievements of students grade X at SMK Kesehatan pro-skill Indonesia. The study employed the pre-experimental research focus on post-test in control group design. The sampling of technique was purposive. There were two sampling in this study; the experimental class was using “kancing gemerincing” as a technique and the control class with conventional learning. The instruments in this research are the results of students test and the observation sheet of teacher and students activities. The finding of this research showed experimental class better than control class. So, it can be concluded there was effect of using “kancing gemerincing” as a technique in cooperative learning (STAD) toward mathematice achievements of students grade X at SMK Kesehatan pro-skill Indonesia.Key Word : The result of mathematical, “Kancing Gemerincing” as a technique,cooperative learning (STAD), pre-experimental research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on mathematics learning achievement on Matrix topic of students XI IPS 1 MAN Insan Cendekia Siak which shows that 12 of 23 students still have scores which stand under Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) that has been settled by the school that is 76. This research aims to improve learning process and students’ mathematics learning achievement by applying Discovery Learning (DL) model. The type of this research is classroom action research with two cycles. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments and data collecting instruments. The mathematical learning instruments are syllabus, lesson plans, and students worksheet. The data collecting instruments are observation sheets and students mathematic tests. Analysis techniques that used are descriptive narrative on qualitative data and descriptive statistics on quantitative data. Subject of this research are students of XI IPS 1 MAN Insan Cendekia Siak in first semester of academic year 2018/2019, which consist of 9 males and 14 females with heterogeneous abilities. Based on the analysis of students and teacher activities after implementation of the DL model, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of learning process. On knowledge competence, in first cycle with percentage 87% and 96% in second cycle. On skill competence, the number of students who can reach MMC in first cycle with percentage 78,3% and 82,6% in second cycle. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the implementation of DL model can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematics learning outcomes at class XI IPS 1 MAN Insan Cendekia Siak .Key Words: Mathematics Learning Achievement, Discovery Learning Model,Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the low of mathematical problem solving ability of first grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research are 1) to determine the significance of the improvement of mathematical problems solving ability of first grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru who were thought through problem based learning (PBL) model and saintific approach as usual learning; and 2) to determine the difference of the improvement mathematical problem solving ability of first grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru who were thought through PBL model and saintific approach as usual learning. This research used experiment and use design nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Population in this research is all of the first grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. Sample of this research consists of two classes, there are class VII6 as the class experiment and VII5 as the class control. The research instrument are the test of early mathematics ability obtained from the mean of daily test in odd semester and test of mathematical problem solving ability. The result of the early mathematics ability test is used to determination the class sample. Data were analyzed by normality test, homegenity of varians test, t-test, and Mann U Withney Test. The result showned that the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability of students who were thought through PBL model is higher than students who were thought through saintific approach as usual learning. The improvement of student’s mathematical problem solving ability through PBL model was categorized as medium while saintific approach was categorized as low.Key word: Problem Based Learning, Improvement of Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the result of learning mathematics of class student VIII3 SMP Negeri 3 Siak Kecil which is still under the minimum mastery criteria (MMC) with a persentage of 48, 15 % only 13 students from 27 students who achieve the minimum mastery criteria on the subject matter of the two variable linear equation system. The purpose of this research aims to improve the learning process and increase the student’s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Cooperative learning of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle, who conducted in class VIII3 SMP Negeri 3 Siak Kecil in the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Research subject as many 27 students, consist of 14 boys and 13 girls. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used is Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Worksheet. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. The observation sheet was analyzed whit descriptive qualitative while the test of mathematics learning outcomes was analyzed statistically. Based on deskriptive qualitative analiysis showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach MMC increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 13 person (48,15 %), 18 person (66,66 %) and 23 person (85,18%). Results of this research indicates that application of the Cooperative learning of STAD type can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students at class VIII3 SMP Negeri 3 Siak Kecil the second semester academic years 2018/2019.Key Words: Math Learning outcomes, Cooperative Learning of STAD type,Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning tools (syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS) based on open-ended problems on the material of Constructing Flat Side Space (BRSD) that are valid and practical to facilitate students' critical thinking skills. The 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) in this study was carried out until small group test of develop stage. The instruments used include: (1) interview guidelines and observation sheets to conduct needs analysis; (2) syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS validation sheets; and (3) student response questionnaires in doing LAS. This study involved three students participating in a one-to-one evaluation and six grade VIII junior high school students as subjects of a small group test and three mathematics education lecturers as validators.  The results of the validation of the three validators showed that the syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS were valid with score respectively; 3.6; 3.48; and 3.38. The practicality of LAS shows an average percentage of 86.11% with very practical criteria. The results of this study indicate that the open-ended problem-based learning tool in the material of BRSD is valid and very practical in facilitating students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This article is based on the low ability of mathematical literacy and learning independence of learners. This article aims to describe the role of the PBL model of mathematical literacy and learning independence. The type of research used in this article is quantitative descriptive research conducted on students of class VIII MTs Darul Wasi'ah Simalinyang through interviews with learners and teachers, observation, and literature review analyzed descriptively.

Abstract

Abstract : The background of this research is the restrict of mathematic learning device as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to developed the lesson plan and students worksheet of mathematics which refers to of Contextual Teaching and Learning on the subject sequence and series for 11th grade students of Senior High School with valid and practical criteria. This study method used in 4D model by Thiagarajan, that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, because of time and cost, the study was only to development step. The lesson plan and students worksheet of mathematics that had been developed than validated by three validatores and revised based on the input from validators. The valid students worksheet then tested in two stages, the small group trial (7 students of class XI IPA1 SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru) and large group trial (39 students of class XI IPA2 SMA Negeri 9 Pekanbaru). Based to the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the lesson plan and students worksheet of mathematics which refers to application of Contextual Teaching and Learning on the subjects sequence and series are valid with and average value for the lesson plan is 3.61 and the average value for students worksheet is 3.54. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 88,84% in large group trial with very practical. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the product in the form of Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet mathematics which refers to Contextual Teaching and Learning on the subject Sequence and Series for 11th grade students of Senior High School is considered very valid and practical.Key Words: Validity and Practicality, Research and Development, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Sequence and Series

Abstract

This study aims to produce a prototype design for computer-based learning media with a scientific approach to circle material. The development model used is the Plomp model which consists of three phases, namely; (1) Preliminary Investigation Phase, (2) Prototyping Phase, and (3) Assessment Phase. The instrument used was a validity instrument in the form of a validation sheet and a practicality instrument in the form of a student response questionnaire. The data collection techniques used were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. This media prototype is designed to make it easier for students to understand abstract material, especially on circle materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemahaman  matematis (KPM) siswa dan masih terbatasnya bahan ajar yang memfasilitasi kemampuan pemahaman matematis yang digunakan oleh siswa sebagai sarana penunjang pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar matematika berbantuan FlipHtml5 yang memenuhi syarat valid dan praktis untuk memfasilitasi KPM siswa kelas VIII SMP/MTs pada materi koordinat kartesius. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model Borg and Gall, yang terdiri dari sepuluh tahapan, namun pada  penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap ke-7 yaitu: (1) potensi dan masalah; (2) pengumpulan data; (3) desain  produk; (4) validasi desain; (5) revisi desain; (6) uji coba produk; dan (7) revisi produk. Intrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah lembar wawancara, lembar observasi, lembar validasi dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis validitas dan analisis praktikalitas. Bahan ajar divalidasi oleh tiga orang validator dan direvisi sesuai saran validator, serta diujicobakan kepada 6 orang siswa SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru untuk melihat kepraktisan bahan ajar. Hasil validasi bahan ajar 87,91% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji coba produk 90,16%, dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis untuk digunakan siswa kelas VIII SMP/MTs.
