Abstract

This study examines several controversial policies of the New Order government as a manifestation of educational politics in the realm of higher education. This study uses a historical method consisting of five steps by Kuntowijoyo, namely topic determination, heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The data collection technique uses historical literature studies by utilizing various sources such as journals, books, theses, and articles that are credible and relevant. The results of the study show that several controversial policies of the New Order in the realm of higher education are the implementation of NKK/BKK to sterilize campuses from political activities that have the potential to endanger the stability of security and government power. More specifically, the government prohibits and complicates licensing for student activities to hold demonstrations, seminars, discussions, and other activities aimed at criticizing the government. In addition, lecturers and students are also prohibited from using left-wing learning resources that are contrary to Pancasila. Other controversial policies include the centralized election of campus leaders, the prohibition of long hair and the prohibition of wearing the hijab. Higher education level becomes one of the strategic spaces that cannot escape from the tight supervision, control, political and ideological interests of the rulers. As a result, the campus democracy is increasingly dimming due to the limited space for movement and expression of students, especially in non-academic matters.

Abstract

Abstract This article examines the history of enclavization, heroization, internationalization and privatization of Adi Soemarmo Airport in Surakarta (1974-1992). This study uses a historical method consisting of 5 stages, namely topic determination, heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. This study uses primary archive sources and secondary sources obtained through literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the enclavization of the Adi Soemarmo military air base has been in effect since 1974, marked by the opening of a commercial airport. Adi Soemarmo is a new name that has been in effect since 1977, replacing the previous name, Panasan. The internationalization of the airport was determined in 1989 with the first route Solo-Singapore. This determination is based on the economic and socio-cultural potential of Surakarta and its surroundings. The revocation of Adi Soemarmo international airport status shows that there is something wrong with the management and coordination between stakeholders in the Solo Raya area. To restore its status, stakeholders must synergize and collaborate more considering that the Solo Raya area has large and potential social, economic and cultural capital.

Abstract

This study examines the development of modern health service centers in Java as a supporter of economic colonialism, evangelism, and the spread of culture in the 17th century to the first half of the 20th century. This study uses a historical method consisting of five steps, namely topic selection, heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The primary source used is the Memori Serah Jabatan which is supported by credible and relevant secondary sources such as journals, books and scientific articles. This study uses a political economy and political culture approach as an analytical tool. The main focus of this study includes: the development of pre-colonial health services, early traces of health services for trade-military interests, health services as a supporter of economic colonialism, health services as a medium for the spread of religion and culture and patterns of development and organization of modern health services. The results of the study show that health services in Java underwent a significant transformation from the pre-colonial era to the colonial period, where health services not only functioned as a means of physical healing, but also became a strategic instrument in supporting various colonial agendas, especially in the economic, socio-religious, and socio-cultural aspects. Health services in Java during this period not only functioned as a supporter of economic colonialism but also as a medium for the spread of religion and culture that confirmed colonial influence.
