Abstract

Gorontalo City is characterized by a tropical climate, where thermal comfort is a crucial component to achieve, particularly for educational activities aimed at students. The thermal comfort is affected by various factors, namely building design, internal, and external factors. The university building represents a facility where face-to-face learning and teaching activities occur. The purpose of the current study is to analyze the perceived thermal comfort of students during classroom activities with three different air conditioning (AC) settings (16, 22, and 27 oC) in theUniversitas Ichsan Gorontalo campus building. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method, comprising thermal measurements inside the classroom and questionnaire distribution to students to collect thermal sensation data. The research object was conducted in three separate classrooms during the time range of 08.00-15.00 Central Indonesia time. The results revealed that most students felt neutral and comfortable in the three different AC settings inside the classroom. Nevertheless, it should be noted that thermal comfort could be influenced by other factors, such as physical activity and clothing. Consequently, further research could be conducted by taking into consideration these factors and engaging the participation of teachers and staff to acquire a more comprehensive understanding of thermal comfort in the campus building.

Abstract

Generally, buildings consume around one-third of the world's total energy. Most of the energy in buildings in Indonesia is used by air conditioning systems. One effort to minimize energy waste in the building's air conditioning system is by lowering OTTV (Overall Thermal Transfer Value) to reduce external heat entering the building sheath. The study aims to analyze geometry and WWR (Window to Wall Ratio)’s influence on OTTV and building energy consumption through manual calculation and simulation processes on Autodesk Ecotect Analysis software. This research uses experimental quantitative methods by taking the Bosowa Tower located in Makassar as the research object to serve as a control variable in making alternative building models. The results showed that geometric and WWR variations in buildings were sufficient to affect OTTV values and cooling energy consumption. The smaller the ratio between the length and width of the base and the smaller the percentage of WWR in the building, the smaller the OTTV value and cooling energy consumption of the building. From this study, the most effective combination of geometry and WWR applied to buildings is the combination of 1:1 and WWR 15%.

Abstract

Penataan Kampung Nelayan Barombong Kota Makassar merupakan bentuk dalam memenuhi prinsip-prinsip layak huni sesuai dengan UndangUndang No. 1 Tahun 2011 tentang Perumahan dan Permukiman bahwa setiap orang berhak hidup sejahtera lahir dan batin, bertempat tinggal, dan mendapatkan lingkungan hidup yang baik dan sehat, yang merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia, dan yang mempunyai peran yang sangat strategis dalam pembentukan watak serta kepribadian bangsa sebagai salah satu upaya membangun manusia Indonesia seutuhnya, berjati diri, mandiri, dan produktif.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mewujudkan permukiman ramah lingkungan dengan meningkatkan efisiensi pemakaian energi, air dan pemakaian bahan-bahan yang mereduksi dampak bangunan terhadap lingkungan dan kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode observasi dan perancangan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penataan kampong nelayan barombong dengan konsep green architecture. Hunian pada Kawasan Kampung Nelayan Barombong ini terdapat tiga tipe yaitu tipe besar, sedang dan kecil. Hunian ini menggunakan material berkelanjutan dan sistem struktur kayu dan beton. Untuk utilitas bangunan ini sendiri yaitu pemberian jalur air bersih dan listrik yang akan di alirkan ke tiap hunian.
