Abstract

Keanekaragaman jenis Drosophila sp. terdistribusi luas di dunia. Hal penting yang mendasari keanekaragaman tersebut adalah bentuk dan ukuran tubuhnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan Drosophila sp. (lalat buah) dari Tuban, Kediri, dan Tulungagung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ekspos fakto (expost facto research) yang dilakukan  dengan cara mengamati ciri morfologi masing-masing daerah yaitu Tuban, Kediri, dan Tulungagung. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis kesamaan ciri morfologi yang diperoleh dengan indeks similaritas dan disajikan dalam bentuk dendogram untuk mengetahui kekerabatan antar jenis Drosophila sp. dari ketiga daerah tersebut. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah berdasarkan morfometriknya Drosophila sp. dari daerah Kediri dan Tulungagung memiliki hubungan kekerabatan lebih dekat dibandingkan dengan Drosophila sp. dari daerah Tuban. Didapatkan hasil indeks similaritas antara daerah Kediri dan Tulungagung adalah  0,961 sedangkan indeks similaritas antara daerah Tuban dengan kedua daerah tersebut adalah 0,872. Keragaman Drosophila dari ketiga daerah dipengaruhi oleh jarak antar daerah dan suhu wilayah yang mempengaruhi gen, gene flow, dan rekombinasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui literasi informasi mahasiswa pada tugas mini riset mata kuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan. Aspek yang akan diteliti adalah kemampuan mencari dan mengambil informasi, sumber informasi, dan kemampuan menggunakan informasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru Jurusan Biologi Universitas Negeri Medan (Unimed) angkatan 2019 yang mengambil mata kuliah morfologi tumbuhan pada tahun akademik 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 100 orang, dan sampel diambil secara menyeluruh (total sampling). Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data adalah dokumentasi portofolio tugas mini riset morfologi tumbuhan mahasiswa. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa sudah mampu mencari dan mengambil informasi secara efisien dan efektif. Sumber informasi yang digunakan mahasiswa adalah buku cetak, buku online, dan jurnal online. Mahasiswa juga sudah bisa mengevaluasi informasi yang diperolehnya akan tetapi tingkat plagiarisme mahasiswa tergolong tinggi. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah mahasiswa beru sudah memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi pada mata kuliah morfologi tumbuhan tetapi diperlukan latihan agar mahasiswa terhindar dari plagiarisme.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecenderungan literasi informasi mahasiswa dalam mencari dan mengambil informasi, sumber informasi, dan menggunakan informasi. Populasi pada penelitian adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi angkatan 2019 yang mengambil mata kuliah morfologi tumbuhan pada tahun akademik 2019/2020 dengan jumlah 100 orang mahasiswa dan sampel diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket. Data diolah secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa menggunakan berbagai kegiatan pencarian informasi, sumber informasi dan menggunakan informasi yang beragam sebagai responnya dalam melaksanakan perkuliahan morfologi tumbuhan. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah  Mahasiswa cenderung dapat melakukan pencarian informasi secara efektif dan efisien. Mahasiswa cenderung menggunakan buku cetak dan e-jurnal sebagai sumber informasinya. Mahasiswa juga cenderung mengikuti undang-undang hak cipta, membandingkan informasi dari berbagai sumber dan melakukan verifikasi keaslian data dalam menggunakan informasinya.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan bahan ajar mahasiswa terhadap capaian pembelajaran berbasis KKNI dalam mata kuliah Taksonomi Organisme Tingkat Rendah. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi di Universitas Negeri Medan semester V tahun akademik 2018/2019 yang telah mengampu mata kuliah Taksonomi Organisme Tingkat Rendah yang berjumlah 110 orang. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif jenis survei dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa materi yang sulit dipahami mahasiswa adalah protista dan eubacteria karena bersifat mikroskopik sehingga sulit untuk diidentifikasi, sedangkan yang mudah dipahami berupa materi fungi dan pterydophyta dikarenakan sudah bersifat makroskopik dan mudah ditemukan dilingkungan sekitar. Sehingga Kesimpulannya adalah bahan ajar disusun sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa dilengkapi dengan lembar kerja mahasiswa berbasis masalah agar membiasakan mahasiswa untuk dapat menganalisis suata masalah berdasarkan fakta dan data.

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain data on students' science process skills on the digestive system material for class XI MIPA. This research type is research pre-experimental with one case study. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA with a sample of 35 students using random sampling techniques. The learning stages in this phase include Elicit, Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate and Extend. The data were analyzed with the average value and then analyzed using Anova. The results of this study indicate that the science process skills in nine aspects are classified as very high for observing and communicating (each with a value of 95 and 84.64), that are classified as high are grouping (67.85), predicting (68.57), asking questions (62.85), proposing hypotheses (74.64), and planning research (80.35). Science process skills classified as moderate are aspects of data interpretation (52.85), and those classified as low apply concepts (38.57). Based on the Anova test, the value of science process skills on nine aspects was significantly different at the significance level α <0.05. The conclusion is that students' science process skills are classified as high and have differences in every aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to find out more about the efforts to improve students' information literacy in online learning of the covid-19 effect of biology. The type of research used in this paper is a literature review study. This research was carried out by analyzing research related to how to increase information literacy in online learning the effects of Covid-19 describing, evaluating and clarifying the research and then drawing conclusions. The result of this research is that information literacy is a very important skill for students. At this time of online learning, students who have good information literacy skills will have no difficulty in learning. However, there are problems with students that it is difficult to study at home. Even though the average high school student is able to use existing technology. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve student information literacy. The conclusion in this study, based on the results of the author's analysis, there are three ways to improve students' information literacy, the methods are 1) doing biology online learning effectively to increase student interest in learning and foster student curiosity, 2) the teacher provides many learning resources. as reading material in learning and increasing student insight, and 3) parents and teachers must work together in monitoring, facilitating, and motivating students to develop their learning patterns, so that learning takes place effectively and can improve student’s information literacy.

Abstract

Education is one of the important pillars in a country. Efforts to improve the quality of education must begin with improving the quality of teachers. This study aims to analyze the importance of teacher quality and welfare to promote biology learning in Indonesia. This research is conducted online by analyzing scientific journals and other articles to find the intended concept. The research was conducted qualitatively by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the quality and welfare of teachers must be directly proportional. Improving the quality and welfare of teachers, facilitating all educational programs and providing supervision, evaluation and follow-up can have a major impact in the world of education. A well-qualified teacher can develop learning that supports students to face the challenges of the times. Teachers need to guarantee the quality of life and quality of work, so as to improve their quality to improve the quality of state education.

Abstract

Education is a very important learning process for the nation's children, because with an advanced education it symbolizes an immediate progress as well. In connection with this, it is known that there is a philosophical basis for idealism, realism, pragmatism, and others. The idealization of Indonesian education can be seen from various points of view, namely teachers, students and the government. Teachers are real changers in society. Therefore, teachers are involved effectively, both as educators and social activists. Students are one of the main subjects in the education system. While the government is a facilitator for education in this country. The government must be wise in setting a rule, not to mention the issue of education, the government as a leader has the authority to formulate a strong policy to formulate education policy

Abstract

Responding to the challenges of education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the use of technology has become a demand, including to facilitate the freedom of learning programs. Augmented reality is a technology product that is currently being popularly used in various fields including education. Augmented reality visual display in the form of three-dimensional images or animations can represent various abstract concepts that are not easy to learn. Augmented reality can be implemented in learning such as on environmental topics. This study aims to understand the role and use of technology in education, especially in the era of independent learning. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through literature study. Learning using Augmented reality on environmental topics aims to provide understanding and various phenomena that occur in the environment are expected to have a positive influence on students. These positive influence includes changes in attitudes and behavior to become more concerned about the environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of basic ethical principles and codes of ethics in biological research using human and animal subjects, so that academics are expected to understand and apply ethics in their research through biology learning. This study uses qualitative methods through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that biological research with human subjects must apply three basic ethical principles including autonomy, generosity, and justice. Three ethical principles that must be applied in biological research with experimental animal subjects are replacement, reduction, and refinement. Thus, the role of ethics in biological research is to regulate researchers in carrying out research regarding what to do, what can and cannot be done through a code of ethics in the form of honesty, integrity, thoroughness, openness, respect for intellectual rights, confidentiality, responsibility for publications, mentoring responsibility, social responsibility, non-discrimination, competence, and legality. Biological research ethics needs to be taught in biology learning so that academics as prospective researchers can understand and comply with them, so that their findings avoid ethical problems that harm humans, animals or the environment.
