Abstract

Akronim didefinisikan sebagai singkatan yang dibentuk oleh huruf awal atau gabungan beberapa huruf dari istilah penting dalam sebuah frase. Menemukan akronim dan kepanjangannya secara otomatis dalam suatu dokumen teks adalah masalah yang menantang dalam teks mining. Artikel ini membahas tentang penentuan kepanjangan dari akronim berbahasa Indonesia secara otomatis. Ada tiga tahap yang dilakukan. Pertama, kandidat akronim diidentifikasi dalam dokumen teks. Kemudian, kandidat ekspansi dibangun berdasarkan teks yang mengelilingi akronim, dan ketiga, klasifikasi k-NN digunakan untuk memilih ekspansi yang benar dari sebuah akronim. Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan teks yang diperoleh dari empat web berbahasa Indonesia yang berbeda. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa algoritma yang dikembangkan dapat beradaptasi dengan baik pada setiap domain dan memiliki rata-rata akurasi sebesar 89,75%.   Kata Kunci: Penentuan akronim dan ekspansinya, klasifikasi kNN

Abstract

Fractional material still often understood as an abstract matter that there are still many students who have difficulty in understanding the fractional material. One of the problems experienced by students is the difficulty to understand the true concept. In the process learning takes place teacher use a monotonous learning so as to make students feel bored in the learning process that can condition students to be active. Through the model of quantum teaching teachers are expected to be able to make the fractional material easier to students understand and can be applied in everyday life. Through the game, students are expected to have fun without coercion. Therefore, the game can be inserted through the subject matter so that students not only play but they also can make the process of learning. This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers using games in learning mathematics. The subject in this research is six people students the class VA SD IT Al Azhar Banda Aceh. The research data were collected through observation and interviews with students as well as qualitative data is analyzed descriptively. Based on the survey results revealed that teachers have sought to use the game in mathematics, namely teachers organize students playing game, limit the time, guiding students, and observe students during play game. But these efforts have not shown optimal results, due to limited time in the learning and the media used is limited so students have difficulty in completing the answer in the game.

Abstract

Students' low critical thinking skills were due to the lack of teachers' ability to foster it during the learning process. This research applied the TPACK teaching tools framework with problem-based learning in the mathematics classroom to examine and develop the level of critical thinking skills of Year 10 students at one of the senior high schools in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The research instrument was formative tests given at the end of the lessons. The students' test showed that there was a lack of critical thinking skills at the beginning of the lesson. The last test showed that tificant positive development toward the level of students' critical thinking skills during the learning process using the TPACK learning framework with the problem-based learning model.

Abstract

Metacognitive skill is the awareness of one's thinking about the thinkingprocess itself, whereas consciousness is the awareness of one's thinking about what to do. The subjects for this research were five students from class VII-1 SMP 1 Banda Aceh. Research data collection used the sheet metacognitive questions. Data were analyzed descriptively to interpret students' metacognitive skills in learning how to use Cabri Geometry II Plus software. The results showed that the metacognitive abilities of students increased from the first meeting to the fourth meeting

Abstract

The results of Indonesian students' mathematics learning scores from UN, PISA, TIMSS and INAP show unsatisfactory results, students are still weak in cognitive skills. Math learning aims to equip students with logical, analytical, systematic, critical, and creative thinking skills, as well as cooperative skills called higher order thinking skill (HOTS). The 2013 curriculum requires students to be familiar with HOTS issues. HOTS has a relationship and influences students' cognitive style. The purpose of the study to determine the difficulties of students in solving the problem of HOTS on geometric problems regarding cognitive style. Research using the qualitative approach, research subject consist of field dependent student (FD) and field independent (FI). Research instruments are HOTS test, interview, and GEFT test. Data analysis was done based on Miles and Huberman's stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that: 1) FD students tend to experience difficulties in the transformation and coding stages, 2) FI students tend to experience difficulties in the process skill and coding stage.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Blended Learning media which is built using Moodle base in such a way as to simplify the process of use in high school math learning by using Research and Development (R D) research type. The development method used a model designed by Plomp with three stages of research: 1) Preliminary Research, 2) Prototype Phase, and 3) Assessment Phase. Determination of valid and practical Blended Learning media was based on the validation test of the experts and users of teachers and students through a questionnaire. Subjects in this research were selected using purposive sampling technique, who were Mathematics Teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Model Banda Aceh School. Besides the teachers, this research also used tools such as smartphones and laptops. The research instrument consists of two instruments. Individual instruments were used to measure the criteria of validity and practicality. The validity criterion was obtained through the blended learning media validation sheet, while the practicality criteria were obtained through a response questionnaire. The results of this study showed that the acquisition of this research development is as follows: 1) The validity of Blended Learning Media is stated very valid, and 2) Practicalities Blended Learning Media based on user responses, including teacher and student, were expressed very practically. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that Media Blended Learning is very valid and very practical.Keywords: blended learning, media, Moodle, mathematics.

Abstract

Proses backup merupakan sebuah proses yang harus dilakukan secara berkala dalam sebuah sistem informasi. Pada perusahaan atau institusi yang memiliki banyak sistem informasi manajemen dan database, admin harus melakukan pengecekan backup secara manual untuk memastikan proses backup berjalan dengan baik. Admin harus masuk ke sistem informasi/database satu persatu, pelaksanaan kegiatan admin tersebut tidak efisien. Pada penelitian ini penulis merancang sistem pemantauan proses backup data terdistribusi yang diimplemantasikan pada layanan Owncloud yang merupakan private cloud storage. Perancangan sistem menggunakan UML diagram yaitu Usecase dan Activity Diagram. Dengan adanya sistem pemantauan proses backup mendukung kegiatan admin sistem informasi/database dalam memastikan proses backup berjalan dengan baik. Apabila ada kegagalan maka sistem akan mengirimkan ke email notifikasi kepada admin secara realtime, agar selanjutnya admin dapat segera mengatasinya. Pengujian sistem yang dirancang menggunakan black box testing yaitu dengan menguji fungsional sistem berjalan dengan baik.Kata kunci : Pemantauan backup, sistem informasi, UML Diagram, notifikasi, black box testing.

Abstract

Komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu tujuan pembelajaran pada kurikulum matematika di Indonesia dan menjadi salah satu standar kompentensi lulusan siswa sekolah dari pendidikan dasar. Selain kemampuan komunikasi, terdapat aspek kemampuan lain yang turut memberikan kontribusi terhadap keberhasilan seseorang dalam memahami matematika dengan baik yaitu kemampuan metakognitif. Perbedaan perempuan dan laki-laki hampir terjadi di segala bidang termasuk di dalamnya tentang prestasi hasil belajar. Untuk melihat kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan metakognitif dalam peneltian ini ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan metakognitif siswa SMP berdasarkan gender. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Banda Aceh, SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh, dan SMP Negeri 13 Banda Aceh dengan sampel masing-masing 1 (satu) kelas dari setiap sekolah. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan lembar pertanyaan metakognitif serta wawancara dari hasil pertanyaan metakognitif.  Untuk melihat perbedaan kemampuan matematis dan metakognitif siswa digunakan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa menengah pertama pada materi lingkaran berdasarkan gender pada sampel penelitian; 2) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa menengah pertama pada materi lingkaran berdasarkan gender di setiap sekolah yang menjadi sampel penelitian; 3) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan metakognitif siswa sekolah menengah pertama dalam pada materi lingkaran berdasarkan gender pada sampel penelitian; 4) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan metakognitif siswa sekolah menengah pertama dalam pada materi lingkaran berdasarkan gender di setiap sekolah yang menjadi sampel penelitian; 5) terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan kemampuan metakognitif siswa. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.22342/jpm.11.2.2533.

Abstract

Background: In the last decade, the number of registered vehicles has grown exponentially. With more vehicles on the road, traffic jams, accidents, and violations also increase. A license plate plays a key role in solving such problems because it stores a vehicle’s historical information. Therefore, automated license-plate character recognition is needed. Objective: This study proposes a recognition system that uses convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures to recognize characters from a license plate’s images. We called it a modified LeNet-5 architecture. Methods: We used four different CNN architectures to recognize license plate characters: AlexNet, LeNet-5, modified LeNet-5, and ResNet-50 architectures. We evaluated the performance based on their accuracy and computation time. We compared the deep learning methods with the Freeman chain code (FCC) extraction with support vector machine (SVM). We also evaluated the Otsu and the threshold binarization performances when applied in the FCC extraction method. Results: The ResNet-50 and modified LeNet-5 produces the best accuracy during the training at 0.97. The precision and recall scores of the ResNet-50 are both 0.97, while the modified LeNet-5’s values are 0.98 and 0.96, respectively. The modified LeNet-5 shows a slightly higher precision score but a lower recall score. The modified LeNet-5 shows a slightly lower accuracy during the testing than ResNet-50. Meanwhile, the Otsu binarization’s FCC extraction is better than the threshold binarization. Overall, the FCC extraction technique performs less effectively than CNN. The modified LeNet-5 computes the fastest at 7 mins and 57 secs, while ResNet-50 needs 42 mins and 11 secs. Conclusion: We discovered that CNN is better than the FCC extraction method with SVM. Both ResNet-50 and the modified LeNet-5 perform best during the training, with F measure scoring 0.97. However, ResNet-50 outperforms the modified LeNet-5 during the testing, with F-measure at 0.97 and 1.00, respectively. In addition, the FCC extraction using the Otsu binarization is better than the threshold binarization. Otsu binarization reached 0.91, higher than the static threshold binarization at 127. In addition, Otsu binarization produces a dynamic threshold value depending on the images’ light intensity.
