Abstract

Background: Complaints of pain in cervical cancer patients make the patient suffer more. Pain is a subjective matter so that hypnotherapy can reduce the pain suffered by patients. The use of hypnotherapy in cancer patients focuses on the emotional aspects and dynamics that occur in the client's subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy can change sensations, perceptions, thoughts, feelings or behavior after being suggested. Positive suggestions given are able to influence the perception of someone who is in a hypnotic state so that they behave or perceive according to the suggestions given. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of hypnotherapy as a complementary therapy in reducing pain in cervical cancer patients.Subjects and Method: The experimental study used a random control trial which was conducted at the Dr. Moewardi Hospital from January to September 2019. A sample of 90 patients was selected by purposive sampling. 45 subjects from the treatment group received the hypnotherapy intervention and 45 subjects from the control group received standard care. The dependent variable is the level of pain. The independent variable is hypnotherapy. The level of pain is measured by a numerical pain scale of 0 to 10. Hypnotherapy is performed using hypnosis recording/ audio. Data analysis was performed using an independent t test. Results: The mean pain level after hypnotherapy (Mean= 0.8; SD= 1.96) was lower than the control group (Mean= 3.2; SD= 1.7), effect size= -1.31, and it was statistically significant (p <0.001).Conclusion: Hypnotherapy complementary therapy can help reduce pain levels in cervical cancer patients. Keywords: hypnotherapy, pain, cervical cancerCorrespondence:Hanung Prasetya. Abstract

Background: Hypertension is "the silent killer" the number 2 highest cause of death in Indonesia. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be used to reduce hypertension is acupuncture and hypnotherapy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the combination of acupuncture and hypnotherapy (hypnotherapy) on lowering blood pressure. Subjects and Method: The Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) research was conducted at three clinics, namely Klinki Dr. Singgih, Kusuma Husada Clinic, and Griya Sehat Sinergi from March to September 2023. A total of 160 hypertensive patients were divided into four groups: (1) Acupuncture intervention group (n= 40); (2) Hypnotherapy intervention group (n= 40); (3) Hypnopunk intervention group (n= 40); and (4) The control group was given standard care (n=40). The dependent variable is hypertension. The independent variable was hypnopuncture. The difference in the mean decrease in blood pressure of systole and diastole in each group was analyzed using the ANOVA test. Results: The mean systole blood pressure was lower in the hypnopuncture group (Mean = 145.43; SD= 3.39) than the acupuncture group (Mean= 154.55; SD= 7.42), hypnotherapy group (Mean= 150.95; SD= 11.92), as well as the control group (Mean= 177.22; SD= 7.87), and this result was statistically significant (p <0.001). The average diastole blood pressure was lower in the hypnopuncture group (Mean = 86.47; SD= 1.57) than the acupuncture group (Mean= 87.25; SD= 10.34), hypnotherapy group (Mean= 87.25; SD= 2.89), as well as the control group (Mean= 95.03; SD= 2.90), and this result was statistically significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: Hypnopuncture is effective in lowering systole and diastole blood pressure levels in hypertensive patients.

Indonesia is currently facing a triple burden of disease which adds to the problems in society. The problems that arise are not only about the outbreak of new infectious diseases, the outbreak of old infectious diseases and the increase in non-communicable diseases from time to time, but also problems arising from the interaction between the three. The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus is increasing from year to year and has an impact on the patient's self-management. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using telehealth nursing to improve Self Management during the COVID-19 pandemic in Diabetes Mellitus patients at Posyandu Sehat Manunggal Kartasura. This research method is a quasi-experimental one group pre test post test. The research instrument used is the DSMQ questionnaire sheet which is used to measure the self-management of diabetes mellitus patients at Kartasura Health Charity Clinic and the provision of telehealth nursing interventions. The data analysis method used in this study was univariate analysis related to patient characteristics data and bivariate analysis using Independent Sample t-test data analysis with p<0.05, which means that there is an effectiveness in using telehealth.
