Abstract

Nowadays, regarding increasing number of micro-business in urban areas, achieving competitive advantage is considered as one of the business concerns. Obtaining competitive advantage entails specific requirements that social capital, physical capital, and human capital - is regarded as one of the most important factors. This study aims to examine the effect of capital to the performance of microbusinesses. The sample of this study was 31 micro-businesses in Wenang subdistrict, Manado, who were selected by simple random sampling. After distributing the questionnaires, the data analysis was done by SmartPLS 3.0 M3. The result show that social capital and physical capital had no significant effect on the performance of micro-business, while human capital had a positive, and significant effect on the business performance. The implication is the Manado City government has to make the labor of micro-business as the target of empowerment activities that are organized by the government, private sector, bank, NGOs, domestic or foreign. In the long term, it can drive the micro-industry to the small and medium industries.

Abstract

One of sectors massively contributing in the economy of Ambon city is fishery and marine. However, fishermen as one of the business actors who run this business are still on the poverty line even though they operate business every day. This study aims to analyze the going concern aspects applied by business actors so far. A qualitative approach with source triangulation techniques was used where researchers conducted in-depth interviews and observations to business actors in Dusun Eri, Latuhalat Village, and Seri Village. The results found that the going concern aspects that have been applied tend to adopt traditional methods that have been going on since ancient times, such as only focusing on selling fresh fish as their product characteristic so business actors are reluctant to innovate. The obstacles are the lack of self-motivation and government capital support, as well as the low understanding of technology. In addition, the going concern aspect of this business is also not determined by the accounting process because all business actors do not carry out accounting processes in their business. The financial management process that has been carried out by business actors is limited to allocating sales proceeds for business operations, family economic needs, and personal savings. This allocation process is not recorded in a specific book and only relies on their intuition and verbal calculations.

Abstract

Kontribusi UMKM terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi sangat signifikan. Oleh sebab itu, kinerja usaha jenis ini sangat penting untuk ditingkatkan. Salah satu bagian kinerja yang harus diperhatikan adalah kinerja karyawan. Karyawan merupakan unsur penting dalam pertumbuhan usaha. Cara karyawan melayani pelanggan sangat mempengaruhi keberlanjutan hubungan pelanggan dengan usaha. Proses operasioan dalam bisnis dan pelayanan terhadap konsumen yang kurang memuaskan disebabkan oleh kurangnya keterampilan dan pengetahuan karyawan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan peningkatan kinerja karyawan yang meliputi keterampilan dan pengetahuannya sehingga dapat mempercepat proses produksi, distribusi, transaksi, dan pelayanan konsumen yang berkualitas. Kami menggunakan metode sosialisasi interaktif untuk menyampaikan pengetahuan terkait peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan berproduksi, packaging, melayani pembayaran, dan distribusi. Kegiatan ini menggabungkan metode pembelajaran di lokasi usaha untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang keterampilan karyawan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melibatkan akademisi, pemilik usaha, mahasiswa, dan karyawan Toko Lima Roti Premium Bakery. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini diukur dengan hasil penilaian peserta sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti pembelajaran. Penilaian di awal dilakukan dalam bentuk pengisian form kualitas pelayanan (service quality check list). Sebagian besar karyawan mengisi dan mengakui bahwa kualitas pelayanan mereka belum maksimal. Di akhir sesi pembelajaran, tim memberikan post test kepada 10 karyawan dan mendapati bahwa seluruh karyawan cenderung menjawab pertanyaan dengan tepat dengan rata-rata skor 87,50. Pelatihan ini berhasil memberikan tambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang peningkatan kinerja karyawan Lima Roti Premium Bakery Ambon. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan tersebut diharapkan dapat berkontribusi meningkatkan kinerja karyawan dan pelayanan terhadap konsumen di Toko Lima Roti Premium Ambon.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the influence of digital capital services represented by market aggregator variables on MSME performance. Market aggregator examines the aspect of access to information related to capital for business actors. The research used a survey method through observation and distributing questionnaires to business actors in Ambon City. Samples were taken based on purposive sampling technique. The research results show that digital capital services can significantly boost the performance of MSMEs. Business actors who utilize market aggregator platforms to access capital information encourage them to obtain quality information related to capital decision making so that ultimately it supports business actors to achieve satisfactory business performance. These results also have an impact on the economic sector in general, where when business actors gain access to adequate capital, sales and profit levels can increase. If sales and profits increase then in the long term the business level can increase to the next level. Increasing the level of business certainly encourages an increase in state revenues through taxes, employment, and an increase in gross domestic product (GDP).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using the QRIS payment system on MSME development in Ambon City through Theory of Acceptance Model. It uses the sample from all MSME culinary delights in Ambon City, taken based on the determined criteria such as meeting the criteria are 45 SMEs. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, which was processed by the SPSS version 21. The result shows that partially Perceived Usefulness and Perceived ease of use have a significant influence on the development of MSMEs in Ambon City. The more useful QRIS is, the more MSMEs will develop, as well as the easier it is to use QRIS, so it will be easy for business actors to adapt and their businesses will develop. It practically implies that MSMEs in Ambon City are getting more and more aware that the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use available in the QRIS are able to encourage business development. Apart from that, Bank Indonesia as the promoter of QRIS implementation for MSMEs needs to monitor entrepreneurs using QRIS so that they can answer any obstacles they still face. Theoretically, it also implies that this research provides a new area of research not only limited to interest in using it but directly towards the application of new technology and its influence on the development of MSMEs.

Abstract

Introduction/main objectives: One of sectors massively contributing in the economy of Ambon city is fishery and marine. Nevertheless, fishermen, who have important roles in the business of catching and marketing fishes in markets, relatively live in poverty despite their daily efforts. This study aims to investigate how fishermen utilize resources and capabilities to sail. Background Problems: enormous fish demands in Ambon city should be the point of advantages for fishermen. Further, these requests are because the main consumption of the people of Ambon city is fish. Novelty: This research pictures fishermen lives through economic aspects widely to guideline in exploiting the benefits of fish sales. This situation encourages researchers to find out how fishermen achieve competitive excellence in their businesses. Research Methods: this study employs mixed method approaches through questionnaires, intensive interviews, and observation towards fishermen in the villages of Eri, Air Louw, Latuhalat, and Seri. Data were analyzed with SPSS 17. Findings/Results: Study findings indicate that resources and capability of fishermen significantly influence their competitiveness. The greater their competences are, the higher the selling rates are, and within a long term their eagerness will develop. Conclusion: the more excellent resources used in sailing are, the better fishermen’s keenness is. The more their capabilities are, the higher marketing rates are, and within long period of time their ambitions will improve. Small profits are induced by insufficient fishing tools and equipment used compared with fishermen from different regions. Moreover, poor bargaining position of fishermen compared with bidders in markets eliminates their controls to determine market selling prices. The implication is local government must organize policy focusing on increasing fishermen’s resources and capabilities. Furthermore, regulations are required to fix fish values in open markets to give controls to fishermen. In long term, fishers do not only focus on consumption needs but also on allocation of savings and investments

Abstract

The viability of the fishing industry as a business depends on the sea's condition, as operating patterns rely on environmental factors affecting daily costs. Operational expenses tend to rise without proportional increases in turnover. One solution for fishermen is maximizing fish sales online via a website, reducing transportation costs and enabling better pricing. This service program aims to empower fishermen through digital tools to enhance efficiency and market access. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), the program includes socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Outcomes showed participants enthusiastically welcomed the Sipikan website. Training improved their comprehension and proficiency, while post-tests indicated increased confidence, initiative, motivation, leadership, and risk-taking. This program demonstrates digital platforms' potential to enhance the sustainability and profitability of small-scale fishing enterprises. Ongoing support is essential to ensure fishermen independently address challenges using the website. Additionally, government policies should encourage MSMEs, especially micro-scale associations, to adopt digital platforms for further growth.

Abstract

The outbreak of Covid-19 has weakened the performance of micro businesses, especially micro scale women entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs implement various measures to sustain their businesses through the pandemic. This study aims to examine the factors that influence the performance of micro businesses in the city of Manado, North Sulawesi Province. The study uses the sample of 30 micro businesses collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews with women entrepreneurs with stratified random sampling technique. The collected data was then analyzed with SmartPLS 3.0 M3. The results found that trust and networks have significant influences on the performance of micro businesses during the crisis. The findings imply that businesses need to establish strong relationships with customers as a mean to building trust and networking to enable businesses to survive in the midst of a crisis. In addition, businesses should also improvise their products in times of crisis to maintain the cash flow.Keywords: women entrepreneur; business performance; trust; smartPLS AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah menghambat produktivitas usaha di sektor mikro, tidak terkecuali para pelaku usaha perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja usaha sektor mikro di Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel yang dipilih secara acak yang terdiri dari 30 pelaku usaha mikro perempuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan SmartPLS 3.0 M3, setelah melalui prosespenyebaran kuesioner, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa faktor kepercayaan (trust) dan jaringan (network) memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja usaha mikro di masa krisis. Kedua faktor ini sangat penting karena kepercayaan dan jaringan memberikan kemampuan bagi pelaku usaha untuk tetap bertahan di masa krisis. Selain itu, pelaku usaha juga sebaiknya melakukan improvisasi atas produknya dimasa krisis untuk menjaga kelancaran arus kas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cashless payment on MSME's performance with financial literacy as a moderating variable in Ambon City. This quantitative descriptive research uses questionnaires and statistical data measured on a Likert scale. The respondents of this study are MSMEs in the culinary field in Ambon City, with a sample of 100. The data sampling uses a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis uses Smart PLS software version 4.0. The study results show that cashless payment has a positive and significant effect on MSME's performance, and financial literacy does not have a positive and significant moderating effect on cashless payment on MSME's performance. Abstract

Fishermen operating in coastal areas tend to face the problem of long-term poverty. Fish sales activities carried out in the long term have not been able to boost the welfare of coastal fishermen. One of the strategies that can be done so that the business not only survives but also experiences growth is to compile bookkeeping. In their business, not all fishermen do bookkeeping due to limited knowledge. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide education and bookkeeping training for fishermen and fishmongers in Seri Hamlet, Nusaniwe District, Ambon City. Fifteen fishermen and seven fishmongers attended the activity. The service method uses the Service Learning (SL) method. There are two stages in this SL method. The first was education about the importance of bookkeeping for business. The second stage was training in bookkeeping. The activity results showed that after education and training, participants experienced increased knowledge about the bookkeeping model as measured by indicators such as identifying transactions, recording transactions, and preparing profit and loss statements. Before participating in the activity, the average score of participants was 89, and after participating in the activity, the average score was 95. This shows that the bookkeeping training has improved fishermen's knowledge of bookkeeping.
