Abstract

Students have problems in understanding Students have problems in understanding of Molecule Shapes Theory, this can be caused by the lack of visualization of the spatial structure of molecules. So that requires teachers to be creative and innovative, for example by utilizing technology-based learning media. One of the technology-based media that can be used to deliver molecular form material is the PhET simulation media. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of PhET simulation media on mastering the concept of molecular shapes. The research method used was quasi-experimental. The research design used was nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study were students of class X IPA 1 totaling 39 students and X IPA 2 totaling 40 students. The research instrument used was a multiple choice test to see student learning outcomes and a questionnaire to determine student responses to the use of PhET media. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. Research results from the Independent Sample T-Test hypothesis test showed that learning using the PhET simulation media in the experimental class was more effective in improving students' understanding of concepts in molecular form material compared to book media.

Abstract

This study aims to produce instructional media based on chemo-edutainment through a model of instructional games on electron configuration and to discover the response of teachers and students on developed instructional media. The research method is qualitative descriptive with three stages. They are pre-production stage, production, and post-production. Data were analyzed descriptively. On the pre-production stage, the design of instructional media was produced based on chemo-edutainment that had been integrated with the model from instructional games. On the production stage, instructional media that had been validated by four lecturers was produced. On the post-production, the instructional media experimented on three chemistry teachers and 35 public senior high school' students in Tangerang. The product was responded based on aspects of quality of content, quality of technical, and packaging of teaching materials. The result of this study shows that the developed instructional media had educational value and had entertaining and enjoyable characteristic for the user. The defined experiment's result obtained 84.09% of teacher and 82.88% of student response are an excellent category. Abstract

Menurut beberapa penelitian terdahulu, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kurang terlatih dikarenakan pembelajaran lebih berpusat kepada guru (teacher center). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sistem koloid. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 10 Kota Tangerang Selatan pada bulan Februari semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian berjumlah masing-masing 30 orang siswa pada kelas kontrol maupun eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu purpossive sampling. Instrumen utama yang digunakan yaitu tes essay sebanyak 10 butir soal. Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan bantuan software SPSS versi 22 diperoleh data bahwa sig < α yaitu 0,000 < 0,05 pada taraf signifikansi 5% sehingga H0 ditolak dan terima H1. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution of cognitive domain levels from Final Semester Assessment (PAS) questions in online learning chemistry grade XI based on the cognitive domain of Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The method used is descriptive method with the instrument in the form of a check-list format. The object of this research is the question of PAS chemistry grade XI even semester in four schools in South Tangerang City. The data were obtained through analysis of the cognitive domain level of Revised Bloom's Taxonomy on each item and validated through triangulation techniques by two experts in the field of chemistry. The results showed each of the percentages for the C1 domain is 24.3%, the C2 domain is 32.9%, the C3 domain is 32.1%, the C4 domain is 10.7%, and the C5 and C6 domain are both 0%. This show that the distribution of cognitive domains on the chemistry PAS questions for grade XI was not evenly distributed, PAS questions were distributed in four domains out of a total of six cognitive domains, C1, C2, C3, and C4. Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model based on ethnoscience on students' critical thinking skills on colloidal material. Experiments were conducted on a sample of 36 experimental class students with an ethnoscience-based problem-based learning model and 36 experimental class students with a convention learning model. This research method is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The instruments used are essay tests and observation sheets. The results of this study indicate that the average posttest in the experimental class is 76.08, which is higher than the control class, which is 69.33. These results indicate that the use of ethnoscience-based learning problem-based learning models on colloidal material is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills compared to using conventional models.

Abstract

Ruangguru is one of the leading online education platforms in Indonesia that has followed a learning system based on the applicable curriculum. There is a need for analysis to find out how capable the Ruangguru application is in supporting online learning activities. Therefore, this study aimed to know the process of learning chemistry in the Ruangguru online learning media, especially on the solubility product and solubility product constant (Ksp). The type of research used was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used observation and documentation. The results showed that the Ruangguru application met the criteria in supporting the online learning system of solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) materials, which had facilities with learning materials delivered via live streaming video with the guidance of online tutors. In addition, there were facilities that could support all student activities, such as the availability of study modules, study groups, and learning evaluations. These are in order to improve students understanding abilities and have a good impact on the learning outcomes obtained, which has facilities with learning materials delivered via live streaming videos with the guidance of online tutors.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce interactive learning media based on augmented reality technology on the concept of chemical bonds and determine student responses to the media. The research method used is the R & D method. The instruments used are material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of material expert validation, an average of 80.41% (feasible category) was obtained and the media expert validation results obtained an average of 90.92% (very feasible category). The results of the limited trial received positive responses from students with details of the percentages obtained, namely 85.75% for the usability aspect, 81.80% for the illustration use aspect, 74.57% for the future impact aspect. 79.64% for the aspect of material usefulness, and 77.20% for the grammatical aspect. Overall, the augmented reality interactive learning media developed received a positive response from students with a percentage of 79.78% and suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning system in Indonesia to online-based learning. Students' perceptions need to be known to understand how students perceive online chemistry learning, especially during the pandemic. A quantitative method is conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire of 25 items. The questionnaire is trying to explore students’ perceptions on three dimensions, namely, material and teaching method, learning atmosphere and environment, and social interactions. Respondents are 385 students of the science program at two public schools in Ciamis regency. The results showed that in general, the majority of students (>50%) perceive online chemistry learning positively, especially with regard to material and teaching method and learning atmosphere and environment. However, the dimension of social interaction is found to have more negative responses (>80%) than positive ones. This is apparent in the communication and interaction between students and their teachers and peers. From this study, it is concluded that while online learning seems to be relatively accepted and prepared by students, the social interactions of students need to be seriously considered as they may affect students’ mental health and well-being. Further research is therefore recommended to explore more the extent to which mental health and well-being influence students’ performance in online learning.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang terus melaju membuat setiap lembaga harus berubah dan berkembang. Lembaga pendidikan sebagai salah satu yang mengalami dampak dari kemajuan digital yang pesat tersebut. Aktivitas pembelajaran, layanan administrasi, sistim informasi dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi menggunakan berbagai platform digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik, kapabilitas dan pilar kepemimpinan digital yang perlu dikembangkan di lembaga pendidikan. Peneliti melakukan studi literatur tentang teori terkait dan melakukan kajian mengenai teori-teori kepemimpinan, kepemimpinan pada lembaga pendidikan, karakteristik dan kapabilitas kepemimpinan digital, serta pilar-pilar atau area yang dikembangkan dalam rangka mengembangkan kepemimpinan digital pada lembaga pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan karakteristik kepemimpinan digital, yakni: visi digital, perilaku digital, keahlian digital dan pola pikir digital perlu diimplementasikan dengan baik; kapabilitas kepemimpinan digital yakni kemampuan memimpin lembaga pendidikan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru, tenaga kependidikan, dan siapapun yang terlibat di dalamnya perlu dikembangkan; dan pilar-pilar kepemimpinan digital pada lembaga pendidikan perlu ditegakkan dalam rangka mencapai tujuan universal pendidikan.
