Abstract

Vegetable insecticide is a natural material that is environmentally friendly. This material can be used in the prevention and control of mosquito larvae, especially Culex sp. Culex sp is the main vector of filariasis disease and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Use of natural materials is very good and environment friendly as insectcide compared with chemicals. Avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill) is known to have secondary metabolite content of alkaloids, saponins, triterpenoids while soursop extract (Annona muricata L) in the form of acetogenin, squamocin and annonacin. This research needs to use of avocado seed extract (P. americana Mill) and soursop seed extract (A. muricata L) as larvacide of Culex sp. The aim of this research is to know the effect of avocado seed extract (P. americana Mill) and soursop seed extract (A. muricata L) to mortality of Culex sp Instar III mosquito larvae and LC50 for 24 hours. This study was an experimental study using a complete randomized design (RAL) with five treatment concentrations (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8%) avocado seed extract (P. americana Mill) and soursop extracts extract (A. muricata L) as much as five repetitions. The data obtained were analyzed by using One Way ANOVA to show the effect on the treatment. The results showed that giving of avocado seed extract (P. americana Mill) with 8% concentration (23,8 ± 0,45 larvae) was optimal in killing Culex sp mosquito larvae. While giving soursop seed extract (A. muricata L) with 4% concentration (25 ± 0,0 larva) optimal in killing Culex sp mosquito larvae. Avocado seed extract (P. americana Mill) has an effect as a larvacide against Culex sp. instar III with LC50 at concentration 2,486% while soursop extract (A. muricata L) with LC50 value at concentration 1,605%. Abstract

The use of chemical larvicides to control mosquito larvae in water reservoirs has a negative impact, causing environmental pollution and resistance to target organisms. The alternative to reduce this impact is using vegetable larvacides from Rambutan Seeds (Nephelium Lappaceum L) and Mango Seeds (Mangifera indica L). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Rambutan Seed Extract (Nephelium Lappaceum L) and Mango Seed Extract (Mangifera indica L) on the mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae after being treated for 24 hours. This type of research is experimental with a pure experimental study design (true experiment). The treatment concentration given for 24 hours was 0, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% of each extract with 5 replications. The samples in the study were III instar Aedes aegypti larvae totaling 800 heads. Data analysis was performed by Anova test and probit test. Based on the results of research on rambutan seed extract (Nephelium lappaceum L) LC50 value of 3.190% was more effective against mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae than Mango seed extract (Mangifera indica L) LC50 value of 4.758%. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi jumlah ikan nila (Oreochromis nilotics) terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa) dengan sistem akuaponik. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAK) dengan tiga perlakuan dan sembilan ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian adalah perbedaan jumlah ikan (40, 60 dan 80 ekor) yang digunakan pada sistem akuaponik. Penelitian dilakukan selama 45 hari, parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah daun, kandungan klorofil total dan berat basah tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa). Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji Analysy of Variance, jika berpengaruh signifikan maka analisis dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil Analysy of Variance jumlah daun dan kandungan klorofil total tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa) pada penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan yakni (P<0,05), pada berat basah didapatkan signifikasi 0,077 (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi jumlah ikan nila berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun dan kandungan klorofil total, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap berat basah tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa). Hasil uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) menunjukkan bahwa jumlah ikan nila 80 ekor paling berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun dan klorofil total. Kata Kunci: Akuaponik, Ikan Nila, Sawi Pagoda, Pertumbuhan.

Abstract

Padi (Oryza sativa L.) merupakan makanan pokok sebagian masyarakat di Indonesia. Hambatan yang terjadi yaitu musim panen padi yang tidak sesuai harapan petani. Perbaikan sifat fisik dan kimia tanah untuk peningkatan produktivitas lahan kering dapat dilakukan diantaranya dengan penambahan bahan organik. Oleh karena itu, produktivitas padi harus ditingkatkan, salah satunya dengan aplikasi POC keong mas dan pklobutrazol. Tujuan penelitihan ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol terhadap pertumbuhan dan anatomi tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.). Untuk menentukan berapa konsentrasi POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol yang efektif meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan anatomi padi (Oryza sativa L.). Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak kelompok lengkap (RAKL) pola faktorial, dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu dosis POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol. Dosis pupuk organic cair terdiri atas 4 tingkat, yaitu: kontrol = 0ml/L (C0), 1 ml/L(C1), 1,5ml/L (C2), atau 2ml/L (C3). Aplikasi pupuk organik cair dilakukan pada saat tanaman padi berumur 4, 8 dan 12 minggu setelah pemindahan. Dosis pemberian paklobutrazol pada tanaman padi dengan 4 tingkat, yaitu: Perlakuan kontrol =  0 ppm paklobutrazol (P0), 5 ppm paklobutazol (P1), 10 ppm paklobutazol (P2), atau 15 ppm paklobutazol (P3). Analisis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Software SPPS 21 pada  taraf 5%. Pemberian POC keong mas dan paklobutrazol memberikan pengaruh pada tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan umur keluarnya daun bendera pada tanaman padi Mapan P-05. Kata Kunci: Padi Mapan P-05; POC; keong mas; paklobutrazol; pertumbuhan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the response of cayenne pepper plants to the treatment of paklobutrazole with various concentrations. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatment concentrations of paklobutrazole, namely: 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm, and 500 ppm, with 4 repetitions. The parameters observed were: plant height, flowering time, and the number of flowers of chili plants. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) according to the experimental design at a significance of 0.5. The follow-up test used the BNT test at a level of 0.05 if there was a significant effect. The results showed that the administration of paclobutrazole with a concentration of 500 ppm gave a better effect on plant height, flowering time, and number of leaves compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Abstrak Spirulina adalah sianobakterium multiseluler, walaupun mirip dengan bakteri tetapi Spirulina mempunyai mekanisme fotosintesis yang mirip dengan yang ditemukan pada tanaman. Spirulina merupakan mikroalga sel tunggal yang hidup di air dan berkembang biak dengan cara membelah diri ini dikenal sebagai sumber nutrisi nabati terlengkap yang kaya akan asam amino esensial, vitamin, mineral dan karotenoid (Sitorus, 2015). Kandungan nutrisi Spirulina yang lengkap mengakibatkan Spirulina semakin banyak digunakan untuk kebutuhan manusia baik dalam bidang pangan maupun kecantikan. Pelatihan pembuatan sabun padat transparan Spirulina bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan kepada siswa SMA/SMK di Surabaya dan Sidoarjo tentang pengaplikasian ilmu dan teknologi dalam menghasilkan sabun padat transparan untuk membersihkan dan menyehatkan kulit wajah. Bahan yang digunakan adalah Chip soap 450 g, Lexaine C 0,06 g, Carbowax liquid 0,03 g, Propilen glikol 0,03 g, Fixolite 12 g, Spirulina 9 g, Alkohol 96 % 30 ml, parfum. Hasil pelatihan ini memberikan informasi tentang penggunaan Spirulina untuk pembuatan sabun padat transparan dan mempraktekkan secara langsung pembuatan sabun padat transparan, sehingga diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan jiwa entrepreneur siswa. Kata kunci: sabun padat transparan, kulit wajah, Spirulina Abstract Spirulina is a multicellular cyanobacterium, although similar to bacteria, but Spirulina has a photosynthesis mechanism that is similar to those of plants. Spirulina is a single cell microalga that lives in the water and reproduce by dividing itself. Spirulina is known as the most complete source of vegetable nutrition because it’s rich of essential amino acid, vitamin, mineral, and carotenoids (Sitorus, 2015). The complete nutrition in Spirulina makes it more widely known and used to fulfill the human needs, both in the fields of food and beauty. The training of making Spirulina transparent solid soap aims to provide knowledge and skills to students of high school and vocational school in Surabaya and Sidoarjo regarding the application of science and technology in producing transparent solid soap to cleanse and nourish the facial skin. The ingredients used are Chip soap 450 g, Lexaine C 0,06 g, Carbowax liquid 0,03 g, Propilen glikol 0,03 g, Fixolite 12 g, Spirulina 9 g, Alcohol 96% 30 ml, and Perfume. Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan stik kangkung pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh Program Studi Biologi bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada guru dan siswa SMA Wijaya Putra Surabaya tentang aplikasi ilmu dan teknologi dalam menghasilkan stik yang berasal dari kangkung. Peserta berasal dari guru dan siswa SMA Wijaya Putra Surabaya. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu secara virtual dengan menggunakan platform virtual web conferencing. Berdasarkan penyampaian tentang kandungan dan manfaat kangkung, maka potensi kangkung dijadikan olahan stik sangat berguna agar masyarakat yang tidak suka mengkonsumsi sayur secara langsung dapat menjadikan stik kangkung sebagai alternatif. Selain itu, kejelasan narasumber dalam memberikan informasi memiliki persentase sebesar 81,3%. Poin selanjutnya yaitu persentase kejelasan gambar yang diterima mitra saat narasumber melakukan zoom cloud meeting sebesar 78,3% dan sebesar 31,7% mitra yang menyatakan kejelasan gambar yang kurang bagus. Hasil evaluasi setelah berlangsungnya kegiatan yaitu mitra akhirnya mengetahui kandungan dan manfaat kangkung serta olahan kangkung yang dapat menarik perhatian pembeli serta mengetahui tentang bagaimana teknik pengemasan dan pemberian label yang baik.

Abstract

Ikan lele merupakan salah satu jenis ikan konsumsi yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi sehingga banyak dimanfaatkan masyarakat untuk dijadikan produk olahan. Olahan ikan lele salah satunya adalah dapat dibuat sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan siomay. Pelatihan membuat olahan pangan berbahan dasar ikan lele yang ditujukan kepada guru dan siswa SMA Wijaya Putra dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif pangan dan dapat digunakan untuk berwirausaha sehingga memperoleh tambahan pendapatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini yaitu menggunakan virtual web conference. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner didapatkan hasil sebesar 83,4% tentang kejelasan narasumber dalam memberikan informasi, persentase kejelasan gambar yang diterima mitra saat narasumber melakukan zoom cloud meeting sebesar 80% baik dan sebesar 20% mitra yang menyatakan kejelasan gambar yang kurang bagus. Hasil evaluasi setelah berlangsungnya kegiatan dianalisis dari hasil pretest yang mana ternyata kurang dari 40% mitra belum mengetahui tentang pengolahan daging ikan lele menjadi siomay, namun dari hasil post test pada akhir kegiatan, 87% mitra akhirnya mengetahui bagaimana cara membuat siomay dari daging ikan lele.

Abstract

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is nowadays one of the most common public health problems in Indonesia, which lately the number of patients and the range of dissemination tend to be increasing. The most simple and effective way to attempt termination of the life cycle of the mosquito Aedes aegypti is to kill mosquito larvae. Frankly, the act of using arviciding or chemical pesticides often cause these following problems such as environmental pollution, the emergence of resistance and disruption of the ecological balance. The use of plants as a natural pesticide that is environmental -friendly is one of the alternatives that could be done by the society. One of the ways is by using pomegranate peel extract (Punica granatum) and nut-grass extract (Cyperus rotundus). The skin of pomegranate contains saponins, flavonoids and polyphenols, flavonoids and polyphenols. While the nut-grass (Cyperus rotundus) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, cineol, pinene, siperon, rotunal, siperenon, and siperol. This study aims to determine whether there is the effect of giving pomegranate peel extract (Punica granatum) and extract of the nut-grass (Cyperus rotundus) against larvae of Aedes Agypti mortality during a 24-hour treatment. The research design used was a complete randomized design, with pomegranate peel extract treatment (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%), and extract the nut-grass (0%, 5%, 15% and 20%), each treatment was given 3 repetitions, and observed mortality of larvae of Aedes Agypti after treated for 24 hours. The results showed that 1. There is an effect of pomegranate peel extract against Aedes aegypti larvae mortality for 24 hours, and at a level of 20% has the highest mortality rate (12.5 ± 2.43) 2. There is an effect of nut-grass extract extract against Aedes aegypti larvae mortality for 24 hours, and at a level of 20% has the highest mortality rate (6 ± 1.14) 3. Abstract

Leek plant (Allium fistulosum) that grown at Village Treceh Sajen Mojokerto District Pacetoften suffer from some loss that caused by the attacks from pests such as worm soil (Agrotisipsilon) and armyworm (Spodoptera exiqua). The use of synthetic insecticides is very dangerous,because the residue will affect the health of consumers. Cherry plant (Muntinga calabura) containsactive substances such as tannins, saponins and flavonoids that can be used as bioinsecticides.This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of cherry leaf bioinsecticidesextract towards mortality of worm soil and armyworm in a in vitro manner, and to observe thegrowth of leek plant at harvest scallion age 2 months. The study design used is a CompleteRandomized Design, with 4 treatments using cherry leaf extract (0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%), andgiven 6 replications. Samples of worm soil and armyworm caterpillars each are 120 which itsmortality will be observed for 24 hours. Leek plant sample are 60 plants. The results of dataanalysis showed a 24-hour LC50 value for worm soil is 4.240% and the 24-hour LC50 values forarmyworm is 3,434%. These results indicate that the cherry leaf extract is more effective toannihilate armyworm than it is to annihilate worm soil.To observe the effect of cherry leaf bioinsecticides treatment extract towards the growth ofleek plant leaves were harvested 2 months of age. Results of test F (0.024) indicates that there is asignificant effect of cherry leaf extract towards the growth of leek plants. The results of the LSDanalysis of these data showed that the P3 treatment with a concentration of 7.5% is the one thatproduces the best growth of the plant.
