Abstract

The time of weeding between weed and shallots can influence the decreasing of growth and productions. The uncorrect time of weeding can make looses. This research had been conducted at Simalingkar residences in Juny until September 2014 using factorial randomized block design with two factor, The first factor was 7 times of weeding K1: clean of weed for 0-3 weeks, K2 : clean of weed for 0-5 weeks, K3: clean of weed for 0-7 weeks, K4: without of weed for 0-3 weeks, K5: without of weed for 0-5 week, K6: without of weed for 0-7 weeks, and K7: clean of weed until harvest and two factor as varieties namely V1 Bima and V2 Medan. The parameters were plant height per tuber, number of leaves per tuber, numbers of tillersper hill, fresh tuber production per plot, dried tuber production per plot, kind of weed .The result showed that the time of weeding significantly decrease plant height of 3 weeks after plants (wap) and number of leaves at 5 wap .Keywords: the time of weeding, varieties, growth and yields, shallots

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of  research is to find out the growth and production of hybrid corn at various manure cow mixture and N, P, K, Mg. This research was conducted at Tanjung Anom Village from October 2015 until January 2016. This research used non factorial randomized design, Application of manure cow mixture and N, P, K, Mg significant effect to plant height 6, 7 WAP and stem diameter. Application of manure cow mixture and N, P, K, Mg was not significant effect to leaf area, number of rows per cob, cob diameter, cob length, dry root weight, dry seeds weight per sample, dry 100 seeds weight,  production per plot, production per hectare. The best application of manure cow mixture (5 ton/ha) + N (300 kg urea/ha) + K (120 kg KCl/ha) + Mg (400 kg Dolomit/ha) was 9,20 ton per hectare. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan masyarakat di Desa Tanjung Anom pada Oktober 2015 sampai Januari 2016.   Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial. Perlakuan campuran pupuk kandang sapi dan N, P, K, Mg memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 6, 7 MST dan diameter batang. Perlakuan campuran pupuk kandang sapi N, P, K, Mg berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap luas daun, jumlah baris per tongkol, diameter tongkol, panjang tongkol, bobot kering akar, bobot biji kering per sampel, bobot kering 100 biji, produksi per plot dan produksi per hektar. Perlakuan campuran pupuk kandang sapi dan N, P, K, Mg terbaik pada perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi (5 ton/ha) + N (300 kg urea/ha) + K (120 kg KCl/ha) + Mg (400 kg Dolomit/ha) yakni menghasilkan produksi 9,20 ton per hektar.Kata kunci: jagung hibrida, N, P, K, Mg, pupuk kandang sapi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh populasi dan pemberian pukan ayam terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.). Penelitian dilakukan di lahan penduduk, Kota Medan pada Agustus sampai November 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah dengan 2 faktor yaitu dosis pukan ayam sebagai petak utama (0, 12.5 dan 25 ton/ha) dan populasi tanaman sebagai anak petak (25, 50, 75 dan 100 tanaman/m2). Parameter yang digunakan adalah panjang  tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, bobot basah per sampel, bobot kering per sampel, bobot basah per plot, bobot kering per plot dan diameter umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian pukan ayam berpengaruh nyata pada panjang tanaman, jumlah anakan, bobot basah umbi per plot dan bobot kering umbi per plot. Interaksi antara keduanya  berpengaruh nyata pada parameter panjang tanaman dan jumlah anakan. Berdasarkan bobot kering umbi per plot yang terbaik (1287.92 g ) maka perlakuan terbaik adalah pukan ayam 25 ton/ha, sedangkan jumlah populasi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua perlakuan.

Abstract

Pengusahaan kopi organik dapat pula dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan mutu kopi robusta Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Medan Johor, Sumatera Utara dengan ketinggian ±32 meter dpl, dari bulan Mei sampai September 2016, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah perbandingan topsoil dan pupuk kandang (pukan) ayam dengan 4 perbandingan volume yaitu (1:0); (3:1); (2:1); (1:1) dan faktor kedua yaitu pemberian pupuk organik cair (POC) dengan 4 taraf yaitu 0 cc/l; 2 cc/l; 4 cc/l; 6 cc/l. Parameter pengamatan adalah volume akar (cm3), bobot kering tajuk (g) dan bobot kering akar (g). Perlakuan pukan ayam berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan volume akar, bobot kering akar dan bobot kering tajuk. Perlakuan pemberian POC berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter. Interaksi pukan ayam dan POC berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter bobot kering akar dan bobot kering tajuk.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk memprlajari pengaruh konsentrasi dan lama perendaman air kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah samosir. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Jln.Berdikari Ujung,Medan, dimulai bulan  April – Juli. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Acak Kelompok Faktorial  dengan   dua faktor    yaitu     konsentrasi (0 ;25 ;50 ;75 ;100%) dan lama perendaman (30 ;60 ;90 ;120 menit). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, jumlah umbi, diameter umbi, bobot basah umbi dan bobot kering umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tinggi tanaman 3 MST dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi air kelapa, sedangkan jumlah umbi dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi air kelapa dan lama perendaman. Tidak ada interaksi antara konsentrasi air kelapa dan lama perendaman yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter. Kata kunci : bawang merah, air kelapa, konsentrasi, lama perendaman

Abstract

In order to get a good seed, the source of planting material usually uses 6 - 8 months. Storage of  sugarcane bud set aims to maintain the viability of the seeds as long as the bud set is not ready for planting. This research was conducted on the land of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan in April - July 2017, using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e. age of planting material (6, 7, and 8 months) and storage periods (24, 48, 72 hours). The results showed that 7 months planting material gave the best plant lenght and seeds diameter. Using 7 months planting material with 72 hours storage periods gave best shoot growth percentage.

Abstract

The Use Of Map Media: A Study Of Spatial Thinking Skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using map media in improving students' spatial thinking skills in biosphere phase E (class X) material at SMAN 1 North Kampar. Spatial thinking is very important in science education to understand spatial relationships in ecosystems, but biosphere learning faces complex challenges related to the interaction of organisms and their environment. Therefore, the use of map media, both digital and printed, is integrated in ecosystem analysis and prediction of environmental change to improve students' understanding. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and Non-Equivalent Group Design. The research sample consisted of 30 students of class X3 as the experimental group and 30 students of class X1 as the control group. The intervention was conducted for two weeks in the odd semester. Data analysis using Independent Sample T-Test showed a significance value (sig = 0.001 <0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the two groups. N-Gain results showed that the experimental class had high effectiveness in spatial thinking (76.68%), while the control class was less effective (55.58%). These results show that map media can be used as an effective learning tool to improve students' spatial thinking skills. Teachers can utilize interactive or digital maps in ecology learning to clarify the concept of space and improve students' understanding of the biosphere.

Abstract

The Turi farmer group is located in Sidomulyo Village, Tuntungan, Medan. One of the businesses run by this group is the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. However, this poktan has not been able to produce oyster mushroom baglog independently. Thus, greater capital is needed to buy baglog from the manufacturer. Basically, the process of making oyster mushroom baglog is quite simple and can be conducted manually, but the common problems encountered are the long baglog production time, non-uniform quality and high number of workers. In addition, the production of oyster mushroom baglog can be used as another business by partner groups in an effort to increase the income of group members and cut production costs for oyster mushrooms in partner groups. The purpose of this activity was to improve the insight and skills of the community in the Turi Poktan to be able to produce the oyster mushroom baglog by utilizing a simple technology in the form of a baglog presser to cut the production costs and open up new business opportunities in order to improve the welfare of the community in partner Poktans. The expected results from this community service activity were products in the form of oyster mushroom baglog and the formation of a new business by the turi group as a producer of oyster mushroom baglog so as to increase the welfare of the community in partner groups.
