Abstract

Background: Aliasing artifacts often occur on MRI examinations Orbita sequence T1 SE Fat Saturation sagittal oblique slices. One way to eliminate aliasing artifacts is by setting Phase Oversampling (PO). The purpose of this study was to determine differences in anatomic information and image quality in the T1 SE sequence of oblique sagittal fat saturation slices with PO variations of orbital MRI examinations and to determine the value of PO variations that can produce optimal anatomic information and image quality in the sequences of T1 SE Fat Saturation slices sagittal oblique on Orbita MRI examination. Method: This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach. The research subject is Orbita MRI imagery. The research sample consisted of Orbita MRI images obtained from 10 volunteers. Data obtained from SNR and CNR measurements to obtain image quality data, then the image results were assessed by respondents using questionnaires to obtain anatomic information data. The data obtained were analyzed using different tests in the SPSS application. Results: The results showed that there were significant differences in the anatomy of the lens with aliasing artifact variations in PO 13%, while PO 52% and 91% had no aliasing artifacts. Optic nerve anatomy has a clear and well-defined image at PO 91% compared to PO 13% and 52%. Friedman test results on anatomic information on the anatomy of the Lens, superior Muscle rectus, and Optic nerve are significant with p-value <0.05, meaning there are differences in anatomic information with variations in PO. Friedman anatomy test results of Retro orbit, Muscle rectus inferior, and Vitreous are significant with p-value> 0.05, meaning there is no difference in anatomic information with variations in PO. Furthermore, the results of the study showed that there were differences in image quality (SNR and CNR) against PO variations with significance values (p <0.05). Conclusion : Based on the calculation of the mean rank Friedman test shows that the more the PO value increases, the quality (SNR and CNR values) increases. The PO 91% setting produces a more optimal image.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction : Data at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) from 2012 to 2016 recorded that there were 1,432 patients with a head injury diagnosis. Of the patients diagnosed with moderate or severe head injury, 11 (3.07%) patients had head and neck injuries. The clinical pathway in the diagnosis of head injury, CT-Scan of the brain (preferably with the inclusion of the cervical vertebrae) is now the rule in assessing traumatic brain injury. At the Radiology Installation of the Salatiga City Hospital, a head CT scan with a head injury diagnosis used a scan of the area from cervical 7 to the vertex, then cervical radiographs were made using MPR. Methods : This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out in March 2020 by direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Results : Patients diagnosed with CKS and CKB were shown cervical MPR. This MPR image has no superposition, which usually shows cervical 1 and 2 superposition with the mandible even at an angle, and in the lateral projection, cervical 7 superposition with the shoulder. The disadvantage is that the radiation dose received by the patient increases, but on radiological examination there is a justification principle, namely even though using a CT-Scan with greater radiation, the benefits obtained are also greater. In addition, burst fractures can be seen on cervical radiographs from MPR. There are fractures in trauma victims that are not fully demonstrated on radiographs at cervical 1 to cervical 2, cervical 6 to 7 cervical levels, and most involve the transverse process because the patient is uncooperative. Helical CT scanning can depict significant fractures that cannot be demonstrated on conventional radiographs and should be added to the initial screening for suspected cervical trauma. Conclusion : The cervical MPR image aims to obtain four cervical projections, namely AP, lateral, right oblique, and left oblique without conventional projections with the aim of minimizing movement in patients who are at risk of aggravating spinal cord injury. Diagnostic information from MPR results is to obtain structural visualization. specific, determine the extent of the lesion, localize the lesion and bone fragments. However, the radiation dose received is greater than conventional radiographic examinations.

Abstract

Background: Patients with an indication of COVID-19 in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department have special handling because they cannot be examined at the radiology installation, so it is necessary to modify the radiographic procedures. The purpose of this study was to describes the modification of procedures and the quality of the image produced from chest X-ray procedure. Methods: This type of research is a qualitative study with a case study design through the research articles from international journals. Results: The modification of the radiographic proedures of chest X-ray with COVID-19 includes preparation of patients using masks, radiographers using PPE and arranging portable x-rays from outside the patient's room glass to minimize contact with the patient. Between the X-ray source and the patient there is a glass medium as a barrier, and necessary to modify 180 - 300 cm of SID, increases of 22-28% kV and maximum use of 12.5 mili Ampere second. The projection used is Antero Posterior, with patient position semi erect in the patient bed. The image quality from the modification technique is assessed is the aspect of anatomical information, which is visible from the lungs to the costophrenic sinus, good contrast by being able to show between objects, minimizing noise and avoiding artifacts that can be caused by glass, and the exposure index assessment has a higher number than standard techniques due to factors the exposure used is higher. Conclusions: Modifications are needed to ensure the safety aspects of radiographers from infectious diseases and to obtain quality images for diagnosing diseases that are spreading in the world today.

Abstract

Teachers as the driving force in implementing the curriculum are expected to be creative, innovative, and skilled in learning and able to use technology to support continuous improvement of quality and improvement of learning practices. The chemical properties of compounds in food ingredients are known to be able to be used as tools or samples in the implementation of science (science) practicums. Introduction to natural resources, including food ingredients, which are in the school environment or students' homes as part of the learning experience from the environment and as objects in learning projects for teachers is considered important to do. The purpose of this activity is to provide teachers with an introduction and experience about the use of food ingredients in science learning, especially in biology and chemistry (science) studies. Teachers are the first party to benefit from this activity. Furthermore, together with teachers as facilitators, students, in the form of learning projects, can learn through their direct experiences using materials around them. The implementation of community service is carried out using two methods, namely the socialization method and the training method. Socialization is carried out to introduce the characteristics of food ingredients, namely butterfly pea flowers, red spinach, bread yeast, pineapple and coconut milk. The training is intended to provide direct experience to teachers so that they can be implemented in science learning in their respective schools. Abstract

Background: Infection control in radiography is carried out by wrapping tapes and radiograph equipment using polyethylene plastic bags. Existing conditions in the hospital require at least 1 to 2 layers of plastic for each radiography in patients with a history of infectious diseases. The use of plastic causes the amount of infectious plastic waste to be increased. Therefore, an alternative is needed to use acrylic mica material that can be used repeatedly and is environmentally friendly as a replacement for plastic bags. Methods: This research design is a Research and Development (RnD) study with the ADDIE model which is carried out with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection method is carried out by observation, testing the function of the tool, and then the data is processed and analyzed by criticizing the results of radiographic image quality using ImageJ software. Results: Four sizes of precision radiographic cassette coating have been produced with four radiographic cassette sizes. The average decrease in the mean number is 1.07%.Conclusion: The radiograph quality from using acrylic mica cassette coatings in radiograph examinations can still produce good quality radiographs based on the results of histogram graph analysis which produces graphs that have a similar shape between those without using cassette coatings and those with cassette coatings.
