Abstract

The latest application of integrated farming system, directed to the special specification, such as technically and product specification within increase the production efficiency oriented. For this purpose, a research was conducted in Fatukanutu, Sub-distric Amabi Oefeto, Kupang regency, aboutapplication of integrated farming system model (IFS) with banana and calf based. One of the goals is to know the carrying capacity of agriculture commodity waste that cultivated on model application that potential for feed supply, they were maize waste, cabbage, white mustard and banana’s stem. For that, estimation of total available fresh waste and total dry matter and nutrition value to determine amount of calf on animal unit per year that potential to cultivate on IFS model. The result show that total fresh waste from above plant about 6,231.09 kg per year. The next, total of dry matter about 614,2 kg. This waste can use to support calf feed supply for 97 day or worth to 0.27 animal unit per year. Nevertheless, the totally carrying capacity value of the application model more high certainty, because it is not included with the other sources of roughage that’s mean Penisetum purpurephoides and Leucaena leucocephala.

Abstract

Duckweed is one of water plant that have wade potential to developed as new feed resource or to expansion of sustainable agriculture. For sustainable agriculture, any study on any location and session. Therefore, a research was conducted on goal to know the optimal light intensity onproduction and nutrient content of duckweed.This research conducted by factorial design, consist of two strain of duckweed, namely Lemna sp and Spirodella sp, and four level of light intensity, namely 100%, 70%, 50%, and 30%, of each. The parameter observed were temperature of water as cultivation media, cultivation media acidity, cultivation media decrease, plant fresh weight, dry matter and the proximate content, and NPK content of plant. The result show that there is high significant (P<0,01) interaction between duckweed strain with light intensity, cultivation media acidity, cultivation media volume decrease, fresh weight, and dry matter of duckweed. The best of fresh weight and dry matter of Lemna sp.shown on 70% light intensity but on 50% light intensity for Spirodella sp.

Abstract

This research was aimed to evaluate the effect of  level of Rhyzopus oligosporus and fermentation time on  crude protein and tannin   of  tamarind seed. This experiment was conducted in 2 treatment factors with 2 replication. The first factor was various level of  Rhyzopus oligosporus e.i. 1,2,3 kg/kg, and the second factor was time of fermentation e.i. 1,2,3, days. The results showed that there was no significantly effects among treatments on crude protein, but significant effect (P<0.05) on tannin by level of Rhyzopus oligosporus treatment, and time of fermentation, even those there was no interaction between each treatment. Tannin content decreased in line with increasing level of Rhyzopus oligosporus and time of fermentation. In conclusion, the best treatment was 3 g/kg  level of Rhyzopus oligosporus   with 3 days fermentation length.Key words:     Rhyzopus oligosphorus, Fermentation time, tamarind seed, crude protein, Tannin

Abstract

Using of Palm Juice as Additional Energy Feedstuff of Pigs with the Comparison as Basic Material for Sugar Production. Energy resource feedstuff is high portion on pig ration. Generally, prime resource of it is cereals. Cereals used also as food and even as bio-fuel. In contradiction, production of cereals show the low trend caused the global warming and constriction of production area. As result, its price would be high and losing of breeder’s income. On the other hand there is local potential matter would be used as additive feed to extrude using of cereals. Either one is juice of palm (Borassus flabillifer) that generally found in dry region area such as East Nusa Tenggara.Now days, palm juice is used only as fresh-drink or basic material of palm sugar. Chemically, palm juice high content of soluble carbohydrate, especially sucrose, and total of metabolism energy about 3557 Kcal-kg DM. Any research reported that palm juice as additional feed able to support the growth of pig with average daily gain about 384,815 g/day. However, how much is economic value when used as additional feed of pig, especially on comparison, when used for sugar production, have not been explored.Key words: palm juice, energy feed, pigs, sugar production, and economic value.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDalam bidang peternakan, Eco-enzym (EE) digunakan sebagai feed aditif untuk: ayam broiler,  ayam leghorn,ikan nila/lele, dan terbatas pada ternak babi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan eco-enzym yang berbasis kulit pisang (EEKp), sebagai bahan additif dalam ransum ternak babi peranakan duroc fase pertumbuhan. Tujuan khususnya untuk mengukur pengaruhnya terhadap: tingkat konsumsi ransum dan pertambahan bobot badan (PBB). Pengukuran dilakukan pada 12 ekor ternak babi fase pertumbuhan dengan spesifikasi, umur ±3 bulan dan  bobot badan berkisar 22-34 kg. Proses penelitian Rancangan Acak Lengkap, terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, yaitu T0 = kontrol (tanpa pemberian EEKp); dan T5, T10, dan T15, adalah perlakuan level EEKp per kg ransum, masing-masing adalah 5 ml, 10 ml, dan 15 ml. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian EEKp, cenderung meningkatkan konsumsi ransum dan PBB harian. Namun demikian secara statistik bersifat tidak nyata. Kenyataan ini memerlukan pengujian lebih lanjut tentang penggunaan EEKp, pada level berbeda.Kata kunci:  Eco-enzym Limbah kulit pisang, Pakan penambah, Konsumsi ransum, Pertambahan bobot badan.
