Abstract

Karakteristik dan distribusi kecepatan angin di sebuah lokasi biasanya direpresentasikan dengansebuah distribusi statistik. Distribusi yang paling banyak digunakan adalah distribusi Weibull.Distribusi ini dicirikan oleh dua fungsi yakni probability density function (PDF) dan cumulativedistribution function (CDF). Kedua fungsi ini ditentukan berdasarkan nilai dua variabel yaknifaktor bentuk (k) dan faktor skala (c) dari distribusi Weibull. Kedua faktor ini pula yang dapatdigunakan untuk menentukan densitas energi angin sebuah lokasi. Pada penelitian ini, dua metodeyang berbeda digunakan untuk menentukan kedua variabel ini yakni metode regresi linier (linearregression method) dan metode keserupaan maksimum (maximum likelihood method atau MLM).Hasil perhitungan dari kedua metode ini dibandingkan dan dianalisa. Pada penelitian ini pula,kedua metode tersebut diimplementasikan pula ke dalam sebuah program komputer berbasisFortran yang disebut dengan Wind Energy and Conversion System Analysis (WECSA) ver1.0.

Abstract

In order to determine the effect of load change to ship velocity on a 2.5 GT fishing boat, a field test is conducted in the present study. The boat model used in the field test is an actual size boat made from fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) material. The boat is powered by 2 (two) 15 HP direct drive engines each equipped with 3-bladed single screw propeller. Two loading cases are investigated and analyzed which are no load case and with load case. For each case, 4 (four) engine power variations are performed which are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The main parameters measured are boat draught, engine power percentage, shaft revolution speed and boat velocity. From the field test, it is found that even though the propulsion performance increases larger loading and displacement, the increased boat resistance due to larger wetted surface make the boat velocity reduces.

Abstract

A reliable prediction approach to obtain a sufficient thrust and torque to propel the ship at desired forward speed is obviously required. To achieve this objective, the authors propose to predict the thrust coefficient (KT), torque coefficient (KQ) and efficiency (η) of the propeller in open-water model test condition using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation approach. The computational simulation presented in the various number of rotational speed (RPM) within the range of advance ratio J=0.1 up to 1.05. The higher value of J lead to decrease 10KQ and KT. While the η increased steadily at the lower value of J and decreased at the higher value of J. The results also showed that the propeller with 1048 rpm obtain a better efficiency at J=0.95 with η= 88.25%, 10KQ=0.1654 and KT= 0.0942. The computation result is very useful as preliminary data for propeller performance characteristics.

Abstract

Keselamatan merupakan priorotas utama dalam hukum pelayaran, maka perlu dirancang sedimikian rupa termasuk kebutuhan listrik untuk keadaan darurat/emergency di kapal. Dalam hal kelistrikan, sangat dibutuhkan sistem-sistem yang mendukung pengoprasian menyangkut peralatan apa saja yang harus beroperasi pada kondisi darurat/emergency di kapal. Perencanaan dan pemilihan kapasitas generator harus mampu memenuhi kebutuhan dan harus memperhatikan keefektifan daya generator yang dipilih karena akan berhubungan dengan masalah investasi atau harga yang dikeluarkan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini melakukan perhitungan ulang kapasitas generator dan juga melakukan perencanaan/penggambaran ulang diagram kelistrikan (wiring diagram) berdasarkan keadaan di lapangan dan dibandingkan dengan daya output dari generator untuk kondisi darurat/emergency. Dari penelitian ini, dapat dibuktikan secara teoritis bahwa perencanaan sistem kelistrikan di kapal dapat diterapkan secara nyata dan sesuai dengan ketentuan berlaku sehingga pada saat pemasangan instalasi listrik di kapal dan di masa yang akan datang dapat diandalkan demi kepuasan bagi pemilik kapal.

Abstract

Desa Marabombang, Kecamatan Suppa, Kabupaten Pinrang merupakan sebuah desa yang berbatasan dengan selat Makassar. Karena lokasi geographis yang berbatasan dengan laut ini, maka sebagian penduduk Desa Marabombang berprofesi sebagai nelayan. Berbagai macam alat tangkap digunakan oleh masyarakat desa untuk mendapatkan ikan baik dengan menggunakan kapal maupun dengan bagan. Namun demikian, nelayan Desa Marabombang menghadapi kendala utama dalam melakukan aktivitasnya yakni semakin tingginya biaya bahan bakar atau energi. Untuk itu, pada program pengabdian yang akan dilakukan ini, masyarakat akan diperkenalkan dan dilatih untuk dapat memanfaatkan sistem hibrid genset dan energi matahari atau sistem photovoltaic. Kegiatan ini akan berlangsung selama sekitar 6 bulan mulai dari persiapan sampai penyusunan laporan dan publikasi. Kegiatan utama yang dilakukan pada program pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan dan penjelasan tentang komponen, cara pemakaian dan perawatan, serta hal lain yang berhubungan dengan sistem hibrid genset dan photovoltaic. Selain itu, untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat, maka kegiatan penjelasan ini akan diikuti dengan praktek langsung penggunaan sistem di bagan yang sudah ada. Dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini, maka diharapkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang penggunaan sistem hibrid genset dan photovoltaic dapat meningkat sehingga masyarakat dapat menggunakan sistem tersebut untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan terutama oleh nelayan bagan ikan di tempat pelaksanaan kegiatan ini.

Abstract

Seiring dengan meningkatnya permintaan akan kapal kayu tradisional dengan ukuran besar hingga 400 GT dan panjang 50 m khususnya dalam mendukung kegiatan perikanan, transportasi barang dan penumpang antar pulau dan kapal wisata perairan. Hal ini menjadikan kemampuan olah gerak kapal kayu sangat penting, khususnya dalam perancangan daun kemudi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan keterampilan dalam penentuan dimensi dan desain daun kemudi kapal secara sederhana pada kelompok pengrajin kapal kayu di Desa Tanah Lemo Kecamatan Bontobahari Kabupaten Bulukumba. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah applied theory sehubungan dengan penentuan dimensi daun kemudi sebagai peralatan kendali kapal. Kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan ini telah dilangsungkan pada tanggal 19 September 2019 dengan hasil: i) Metode applied theory yang dipergunakan dalam pengabdian ini sangat cocok untuk meningkatkan skill para pengrajin kapal kayu tradisional; ii) Melalui pengukuran langsung dimensi luasan daun kemudi kapal kayu diperoleh hasil dengan perbedaan rata-rata sebesar 8,9% jika dibanding dengan mengunakan persamaan sederhana (pers. 1) dalam penentuan luasan daun kemudi sebagaimana persamaan yang umum digunakan dalam bidang teknik perkapalan.

Abstract

The high cost of repair and maintenance of outboard engines is one of the big problems experienced by fishermen, their lack of knowledge about engine repair and maintenance results in them having to spend more money for their repair and maintenance costs. For this reason, the purpose of this service program is to train and guide the community on outboard engine repair and maintenance methods. The activity was carried out on August 21, 2021 in Topejawa Village, Mangarabombang District, Takalar Regency. This activity involved more than 20 participants from 2 (two) fishermen groups in Topejawa Village, Takalar. This activity was held in the coastal area of ​​Topejawa Village and was opened directly by the Representative of the Marine and Fisheries Service of the Takalar Government. From the results of the qualitative analysis, it was found that before the activity was carried out, the understanding of the community/partners of the working principle and machine operation, as well as machine maintenance and repair techniques were in the range of 30-50%. After that, the proportion of people's understanding increased by 75-90%. In addition, the fishermen also save on the cost of repairing and maintaining boat engines, which in turn increases the productivity and welfare of the fishing community, especially in the place where activities was carried out.

Abstract

Increasing marine resources is one of the present government programs. To support this, it is necessary to increase human resources in coastal areas. One of the fundamental and important things is basic knowledge of machine repair and maintenance methods. The high cost of repairing and maintaining outboard engines is one of the major issues to fishermen, their lack of knowledge about engine repair and maintenance has resulted in them having to spend more money on it. This dedication activity was attended by 11 people from the “Sehati” fishing group. From the results of the counseling and guidance that has been carried out, 90% of fishermen are in the good category and plan to implement a schedule and how to maintain the fuel, lubricant and engine cooling water system. The remaining 10% of fishermen still do not understand the importance of the ship's outboard engine maintenance schedule, this is due to the low level of education so they still need time to learn the material that has been given. With many fishermen who are able to implement schedules and how to maintain the fuel, lubricant and engine cooling water system, the productivity and welfare of the fishing community increases, especially in the place where this activity is carried out, namely in Pa'bentengang village, Marusu District, Maros Regency.

Abstract

In the previous study, the optimal performance of a two-dimensional (2D) floating breakwater shape was obtained. The performance of this shape was also confirmed with a model experiment in a towing tank. Moreover, the shape’s performance in three dimensions (3D) was investigated in a subsequent study. However, to predict the shape’s performance in a real application more accurately, the shape’s characteristics in oblique waves must also be evaluated. In this study, the performance and characteristics of the model (hydrodynamic forces, body motions, wave elevations, and drift forces) are computed using a higher-order boundary element method (HOBEM). The HOBEM, which is based on the potential flow theory and uses quadratic representation for quadrilateral panels and velocity potentials, can be used to obtain more accurate results with fewer panels compared to the conventional panel method (CPM). The computational accuracy is confirmed by using Haskind-Newman and energy conservation relations. In this study, 3D wave effects were verified, and the body motions were much smaller compared to the 2D case. In addition, although the performance in terms of wave elevations depends on the measurement positions, the optimal performance obtained in the 2D case can be realized for a longer body length.

Abstract

The community paradigm regarding the use of equipment that supports work safety and security still considers it disturbing the flexibility and flexibility of working. People have always assumed that they, and even those before them, were able to work safely and safely without the use of such equipment. This activity aims to provide an understanding of risk mitigation if problems occur in the ship production work process at CV's shipyard. Deka Cipta Sarana which is located in Barombong, Makassar City, as well as an introduction to work safety and security equipment and equipment, as well as understanding how to use it optimally. The implementation of this activity involved 15 workers at the shipyard location. Based on the results of the analysis of the questionnaire data distributed before and after the implementation of the activity, it was found that there was an increase in worker awareness in the implementation of the occupational safety and security management system. Understanding of risk mitigation of ship production work processes increased from 33% to 60% and understanding of the use of safety and security equipment and equipment increased from 27% to 67%.
