Abstract

Urban agriculture offers a strategic solution to improve food security and environmental sustainability in cities. However, challenges such as limited land and inefficient irrigation often hinder its effectiveness. This research proposes a smart automatic irrigation system tailored for small-scale urban farming. The system combines fuzzy logic and a two-axis cartesian robot to deliver water precisely based on real-time light intensity and soil moisture data. The fuzzy logic controller dynamically adjusts watering frequency and volume, ensuring efficient water use. Experimental results show the robot achieved a movement error rate of only 3.63%, while the fuzzy logic system reached a decision accuracy of 93.1%. Post-irrigation testing also revealed a 94.83% average increase in soil moisture, indicating the system's ability to restore optimal growing conditions. This approach demonstrates a scalable and sustainable solution for plant care in urban settings, supporting resource-efficient and productive farming in limited spaces.

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a smart shopping trolley system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, aimed at improving retail efficiency and customer control. The system integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, RFID reader, LCD display, keypad, and buzzer to monitor total purchases in real time and alert users when a predefined budget is exceeded. Through a design and development methodology, the prototype was tested using 25 products and 10 scenarios. Results showed 100% accuracy in item detection and instant budget alert response. This research addresses a key gap in previous smart trolley systems by incorporating dynamic budget control and user-defined notifications. The system offers strong potential for further integration into real retail environments and serves as a foundation for future smart retail innovations.

Abstract

Peningkatan konsumsi dan pertumbuhan penduduk menyebabkan volume sampah terus bertambah serta menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan. Masyarakat Bank Sampah Sawo Kencana secara langsung menghadapi tantangan tersebut, khususnya dalam pengelolaan sampah. Partisipasi aktif dan kepedulian masyarakat menjadi faktor penting untuk memperkuat kapasitas dalam menjaga lingkungan serta mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan solusi melalui penerapan teknologi pengolahan sampah melalui kegiatan pelatihan. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi koordinasi dengan mitra, sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik pembuatan produk, pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Hasilnya, masyarakat mampu menerapkan teknologi pengolahan sampah, antara lain mengubah sampah organik menjadi kompos dan eco-enzyme, memanfaatkan sampah plastik sebagai bahan campuran paving block, serta mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi lilin. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa sampah dapat diolah menjadi produk yang memiliki nilai ekonomis dan fungsional. Selain berkontribusi pada pengurangan timbulan sampah di lingkungan, program ini juga membuka peluang ekonomi alternatif, sehingga menunjukkan pentingnya integrasi teknologi dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam strategi pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan penggunaan material komposit sebagai alternatif untuk manufaktur spoiler kendaraan roda empat. Komponen spoiler dapat meningkatkan aerodinamis dan kontrol dari kendaraan menjadi lebih baik dengan meningkatkan gaya tekan, sehingga kendaraan memiliki daya lekat yang lebih maksimal. Penilitian dilakukan dengan proses manufaktur komponen spoiler menggunakan material komposit dari pemanfaatan sampah plastik botol air mineral dengan penambahan fiberglass sebagai reinforce dan resin polyester sebagai matriks. Paramaeter uji yang ditetapkan berupa besarnya ketahanan spoiler terhadap beban tekan dan perubahan bentuk setelah diberikan pembebanan. Hasil analisis material komposit memiliki kekuatan tekan 6.912e+07 N/m2 dan displacement ratio sebesar 0,132 mm, dengan demikan material komposit hasil penelitian dapat disarankan untuk digunakan sebagai material alternatif manufaktur komponen spoiler kendaraan dan memiliki karakteristik mekanikal yang baik, tetapi proses manufaktur belum efisien serta memiliki waktu proses produksi yang lebih panjang.
