Abstract

This study aimed to determine the growth rate and protein content in Nannochloropsis oculata, Chlorella vulgaris, Spirulina platensis were cultured using agricultural fertilizers. The agricultural fertilizers used were Urea, ZA and TSP. Each single cell protein was cultured using the three types of fertilizers with a ratio of Urea: ZA and TSP as follows (A) 1: 2: 1 [(10:20:10 g / L)], (B) 2: 2: 1 [(20:20:10 g / L)] and (C) 3: 2: 1 [(30:20:10 g / L)], respectively. The results showed that the best ratio of Urea, ZA and TSP fertilizers to growth of Spirulina, Nannochloropsis oculata and Chlorella vulgaris was C [30:20:10 (g / L)] treatment. However, phyto-protein content in Nannochlorophsis differed significantly between fertilization treatments, C fertilization yielded the highest protein content (28.75±0.05%), when compared with A (25.13±0.01%) and B (25.14±0.02%), respectively. In Chlorella vulgaris, all fertilization treatments showed very significant differences, B fertilization (28.24%±00.006) yielded the highest phyto-protein content, if compared to A (23.63% ± 0.003) and C (19.74% ±0.006 ), respectively. All fertilization treatments showed very significant differences (P <0.05) on Spirulina platensis. The highest content of phyto-protein (62.68 + 0.05%) was present in treatment C, when compared to A (52.18 + 0.05%) and B (62.37 + 0.01%) treatments, respectively.

Abstract

The observation was conducted to study the yolk absorption activity andmorphological development on the initial state of senggaringan (catfish) fishlarvae. Larvae used for this research were from the artificial spawning ofbroodstock, reared in fiber tank. The result showed that newly hatched larvae has3.02 mm ±0.14 total length and 1.1202 mm3 yolk volume. During yolk absorptionperiod, organogenesis development and length added also occurred. Larvaedevelopment occurred after hacthing involved the eye spot (23 hours, 1 minute),mouth opening (25 hours, 21 minutes) and pigmentation (50 hours, 5 minutes),.Organogenesis development and the total length increment improve, following theincrease of yolk absorption rate.

Abstract

Durian leaves have been used extensively to aid in the anesthetic process in various types of fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the immotilization capacity and stress response and survival of Tilapia under anesthesia. The RAL study design (4x4) was carried out with the durian leaf infusion treatment at concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%. The fastest induction and sedation times were at 8% and 6% concentrations, which were 12.33 minutes and 13.35 minutes, respectively. The highest survival rate was at a concentration of 2% which reached 100%. Blood glucose levels increased due to anesthesia, ranging from 67.75 to 134.25 mg/dL

Abstract

Immunity and growth were problems in main focus in fish farming bussiness. The use of herbal ingredients in feed can be a solution. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of adding herbal supplements to feed in increasing the growth of Tilapia. The method used was a field experiment bya selecting tilapia in pond (8x3 m2). Adding natural supplements to feed begins with making herbal concoctions, then supplementing them with 50 mL/Kg feed..Fish were given feed at 3%/body weight for 1 month. The absolute growth in lenght and weight were 7.09±1.38 cm and 136.05±27.48 g. The feed conversation ratio was around 1.28, the feed efficiency was around 77.7% and the survival rate reached 100%. Herbal concoctions can increase immunity and optimal growth. .

Abstract

Guppy fish is one type of ornamental fish which is in great demand due to its interesting color variations. Color of ornamental fish will be brighter if the feed contains color pigments. The study aims to determine the effect of Astaxanthin supplement in pellets on the color brightness of guppies and to find the best dose of Astaxanthin supplement in pellets on the color brightness of guppies. The method used in the study was complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments (Astaxanthin supplements of 0%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%) and three replications. The experimental fish were male guppy fish Strain HB Red ± 3 cm length with a density of 3 fish/aquarium. Feeding was done twice a day and siphoning was done every afternoon. The parameters observed were Chroma value, survival rate and water quality. The results show that the supplement of Astaxanthin in pellets successfully increase the brightness of guppies and the best dose of Astaxanthin supplement in pellets was 5% with an increase in Chroma value of 4.82%. The survival rate obtained was 100%. Water quality includes an average temperature of 26-27 ℃ and pH of 6-7 and dissolved oxygen (DO) was 6.95-7.93 ppm

Abstract

Guppy fish (Poecilia reticulata) is a popular ornamental fish because of their unique color patterns, the color of ornamental fish will fade if their feed does not contain enough pigmentation to keep them bright. This study aimed to determine the effect of adding Spirulina sp. powder with different dosage to the feed on the color brightness of guppy fish. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments (feed added with Spirulina sp. powder as much as 0%, 0.3%, 0.6%, 0.9%, and 1.2%) and three replications. The test fish were male HB Red guppy fish with a size of 3 cm and a density of 3 fish/aquarium. Water changes (siphoning) was done every morning, and feeding was done twice a day. The parameters observed in this study were the chroma value, survival rate, and water quality. The result showed that the effect of adding Spirulina sp. powder to the feed at a dose of 0.9% and 1.2% had a significant effect on the color brightness. The survival rate indicates that the outcomes were not significantly different between treatments from a 100% success rate. The adding of Spirulina sp. powder increases the brightness of Guppy fish. The brightness color is very important in the Guppy fish farming, because color is the main indicator in ornamental fish. The water has a good quality, with an average temperature of 25.8-26°C and a pH of 7.9-8.0.
