Abstract

Pemanfaatan tumbuhan obat sebagai salah satu alternatif bahan baku pengganti obat sintetis masih belum terinventarisasi secara lengkap sehingga perlu dilakukan inventarisasi penggunaan ramuan yang digunakan oleh pengobat tradisional pada suku-suku setempat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi dan menginventarisasi tumbuhan obat lokal sebagai antiinflamasi pada tiga suku Dayak di Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian dilakukan pada tahun 2015 di tiga suku Dayak di Kalimantan Selatan, yaitu Dayak Pitap, Dayak Deyah, dan Dayak Harakit. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei eksploratif dengan variabel bebas pengobat tradisional (battra) yang ada disetiap suku dan variabel tergantung yaitu ramuan obat tradisional, tumbuhan obat (TO) yang digunakan dalam ramuan inflamasi, serta kearifan lokal dalam pengelolaan pemanfaatan TO. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dengan teknik terstruktur dan bebas. Hasil eksplorasi diperoleh sembilan belas tumbuhan obat lokal yang berpotensi sebagai antiinflamasi yang digunakan oleh Dayak Pitap, Dayak Deyah, dan Dayak Harakit di Kalimantan Selatan, yaitu penawar seribu atau Euphorbia tithymaloides L., kaminting atau Aleuritesmoluccanus (L.) Willd., kayu kusi atau Koompassia excelsa (Becc.) Taub., sarai atau Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf., halinjuang habang atau Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Chev., hambawang atau Mangifera foetida Lour., kacang panjang atau Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp., lombok atau Capsicum sp., tengkutut asu atau Murraya koenigii (L.) Spreng., sangkurukut atau Triumfetta rhomboidea Jacq., terong pipit atau Solanum torvum Sw., limau kuit atau Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle, bubuta atau Macaranga tanarius (L.) Müll. Arg., hantata atau Bridelia glauca Blume, sungharus atau Neonauclea calycina (Bartl. ex DC.) Abstract

Abstract. Malaria remain as health problem in the world with annual mortality number around 1 million. Either with Temunih Village (Tanah Bumbu District-South Kalimantan) which is still become malarian endemic area in Indonesia. Mix malaria infection (falciparum and vivax) was dominant in this village. We have done descriptive study using cross-sectional design to know which malarian plasmodium species that was dominant infecting people in Temunih Village. Our result showed that among 146 individuals examined by active case detection, mix malaria infection (falciparum and vivax) was dominant in older man with age 11-20 year (60% cases), while falciparum malaria was dominant in older woman with age 21-30 year (60% cases). On a contrary, we only found 1 case of vivax malaria in woman with age 11-20 year. It is suggested that people of Temunih Village should use Impregnated Bed Net when sleeping in the night and using repellant to avoid anopheles mosquito biting. Moreover, it is better for them to consume prophylaxis drug before going to work in the field or forest. Keywords:Malaria falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium falciparum

Abstract

Abstract Kotawaringin Barat is a filariasis endemic area and has been undergoing mass drugs adminstration (MDA) for 5 years. The district passed third phase of Transmission Assesment Survey (TAS-3) in 2016. In the TAS-3, we found 4 children with filariasis antibodies. In this study, we performed microscopic examination of microfilaria to confirm the results of TAS-3, as well as the measurement of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior towards the treatment of filariasis. The study was conducted in Dawak Village and Sungai Bakau Village, with a total sample of 620 respondents. The results of microscopic examination are 5 respondents with Brugia malayi in their blood, consisting of 4 respondents in Dawak Village and 1 respondent in Sungai Bakau Village. The percentage of respondents who know the causes and symptoms of filariasis is very small. Although most respondents have a positive attitude towards treatment, the right treatment behavior is still very low. One respondent was found to be reinfected with B. malayi. In addition, it is suspected that there is transmission from animals to humans, but it still needs further investigation.

Abstract

District of Hulu Sungai Utara conducted an additional 2 (two) rounds of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) for filariasis prevention in 2014 and 2015 that resulted in the success of the re-Transmission Assessment Survey Phase 1 (re-TAS 1) in 2016. This study was conducted to identify factors affecting the technical aspects of the aforementioned two additional rounds of MDA. This is a descriptive qualitative study, with a cross-sectional study design. The research was performed from September to November 2017. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with some executive stakeholders (health workers, cadres, community leaders, local women group) involved in the implementation of MDA for the filariasis elimination program. The result from indepth interviews shows the presence of technical factors at the execution level which supports the smooth implementation of the two additional rounds of MDA. Those factors include communication, resources, operational standard, bureaucracy, and pharmaceutical innovation. The success of the additional MDA roundswas marked by the absence of the re-TAS sample that was tested positive of Brugia Rapid™. The pharmaceutical innovation which transforms the dosage form of the medication into powdered form with some additional sweetener that was done in 2014-2015 can improve coverage of the treatment as well as the medication adherence for the early childhood population group. Abstract

Background: The threat of outbreaks of infectious diseases is getting significant attention worldwide, and WHO requires all countries to increase early awareness and respond quickly. Indonesia has built a system called the Early Warning Alert and Response System (EWARS) which may detect any threat of an indication of an infectious disease outbreak computerized reported weekly. Purpose: This study aims to evaluate to systematically assess the data management and reporting system for implementing the EWARS. Methods: The evaluation research conducted interviews with EWARS officers at all levels of the Health Office in Tanah Bumbu District in September-November 2020. This study evaluated the implementation of EWARS, which was variable was a verification of reporting data and a management system with descriptive analysis using a spreadsheet instrument. Results: The instrument results showed that the strengths and weaknesses of SKDR implementation data management lie in the low ability of managers to translate instructions, less active monitoring from the supervisor, and the officers have not been trained. The verification in the total cases reported were gaps in the data from the aggregate district health office, Puskesmas, to Service Delivery Points due to unverified. Reporting performance during the assessment period of the Tanah Bumbu District Health Office was abysmal due to unscheduled and incomplete. The reporting and feedback performance cannot give a clear appeal, instruction and/or warning to a more deficient unit. Conclusion: The reporting performance of EWARS officers and EWARS management was poor and improvement needed.

Abstract

Martapura river water is one of the source of water used for daily use by residents who live along the banks of the river Martapura. Almost every house along the river Martapura does not have adequate clean water facilities and is highly dependent on river water. The objective of the study was to know the pattern of population density of dengue fever vector in residential area of ​​river Martapura. This type of analytic research, using a cross sectional design. The population of all Aedes sp mosquitoes and all residents in the residential area of ​​river Martapura. The sample is partially Aedes sp mosquitoes and residents in the residential area of ​​the river Martapura river, the village Antasan Senor, Antasan Senor Ilir, and the village of Mekar). Purposive Sampling Sampling Technique. Methods of gathering observations, interviews and identification. Analytical data processing and analysis with one way ANOVA test. The results showed that the population density vector category "High" DF = 4.7 and ABJ 71.7%. The result of statistical test of population vector density pattern there is no significant difference (p-value> 0,05). The environmental condition of the settlement is quite clean, breading place of the existence of larvae is not found, the number of TPA varies in the form of plastic, rubber, cement, iron / aluminum. Type / material of positive landfill larvae made of plastic material. Suggestion of research, for related institution to socialize and mobilize community in PSN activity of 3M + movement routinely, larva survey once a week, train Jumantik officer, public health education activity and integrated vector eradication (physical, chemical or biological) and community PHBS found the family / community experiencing symptoms of dengue disease immediately report / bring to the nearest health officer / facility.

Abstract

Insecticide resistence study to DHF vector Aedes aegypti was carried out in Kalimantan Selatan Propince. The objective of this study was to map the insecticide susceptibility of Aedes aegypti population to the three chemical groups of insecticide used in public health, in Kalimantan Selatan. Laboratory-reared. F2 generation of field population of Aedes aegypti from nine and three Municipalities in Kalimantan Selatan Propinces were used respectively. The susceptibility test were carried qut using impregnated paper base on WHO recommended doses which are 0.8% Malathion and 0,05% cyipermethrin, 0,05% Lambdasihalotrin. The results suggested that population of Aedes aegypti collected from nine municipalities, regencies/cities in Kalimantan Selatan Propince were resistant to Malathion 0.8%, Lambdasihalotrin 0,03% and cypermethrin 0.05%, including Deltamethrin 0.025%. It is important to rotate the insecticides which are used for fogging, especially Malathion.

Abstract

Malaria disease is one of the environmental health problems, Health Office of Katingan District Kasongan District Health Center. Katingan Hilir is a malaria endemic area with an API value in 2010 of 5.6 ‰ and is a red zone in malaria stratafication. Malaria discovery rates from 2008 to 2010 always increase. The high rate of malaria morbidity is due to the lack of knowledge level and community behavior pattern.The aim of this research is to know the correlation between knowledge level and behavioral pattern about malaria with malaria incident in Kasongan sub-district of Katingan Hilir district of Katingan Regency. The type of research is analytic, research design using Fisher exact test. The number of respondents in this study was 58 respondents.Chi-square statistical test results with Continuity Correction obtained p-value 0.002 indicates that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge with the incidence of malaria and the results of statistical tests with Fisher exact test obtained p-value 0.002 that there is a relationship between behavioral patterns with malariaincidence.Efforts that can be done, among others, control the factors causing malaria such as the level of knowledge and behavior patterns as well as increasing the extension of public awareness.

Abstract

Background : Disease control is transmitted by mosquitoes are mostly done, one of them the use of insecticide-treated bed nets, mosquito nets coated with mosquito repellent and not harmful to health. The aim of this research is to know the effectiveness of application of insecticide treated mosquito nets in malaria vector control in Tanah Bumbu Regency.Methods :Quantitative research methods, cross sectional design and quasi experiments. Population, the entire population get a mosquito net. Samples, residents willing to take blood, interviewed. Determination of sample behavior and Mass Blood Survey of 100 respondents using purposive sampling.Results: MBS 100 samples, positive 7 respondents 2 org plasmodium vivax, 5 org plasmodium falciparum. The result of the behavior of insecticide treated bed nets (53%) of respondents received and used bed nets and (47%) received and not used. Result of bio essay test 20 mosquito net and 2 control show 5 mosquito net still effective killing An mosquito. Aconitus, with 82,67- 100% mortality, while 15 other bed nets are ineffective.Conclusion : The conclusion is the decrease of malaria case after use of mosquito net with SPR 7%. Recommendation, to forest workers to keep wearing insecticide-treated bed nets, using repellents and taking prophylactic drugs while working in the forest. Keywords: Effectiveness, insecticide-treated nets, Anopheles

Abstract

Kotawaringin Barat Regency carried out the lymphatic filariasis mass drug administration (LF MDA) and in 2016 it was declared to have passed the 3rd transmission assessment survey (TAS). One success factor of 3rd TAS is behavior of adherence to taking preventive drugs from community participated. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitude of adherence to taking filariasis prevention drugs in two villages in West Kotawaringin Regency. The study was conducted in 2017 using an observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The samples used were 273 people ≥ 15 years. The instrument is a questionnaire of knowledge, attitudes and behavior related to LF MDA. Respondent characteristics and knowledge description were analyzed descriptively. Then chi square test was carried out to determine the relationship between gender, age, education, knowledge and attitudes towards drug-taking behavior. The results of the study found that the percentage of respondents in West Kotawaringin Regency who had good knowledge is 58.2%, the number of respondents with good attitudes is 66.7% and 89.4% of them behaved obediently in taking preventive drugs filariasis. Gender (p = 0.794), age (p = 0.372), education (p = 0.263), knowledge (p = 0.536) and attitude (p = 0.765) were not significantly related adherence behavior to taking filariasis prevention drugs. The conclusion of the study is that there are other factors other than gender, age, education, knowledge and attitude that can affect the behavior of adherence to taking filariasis prevention drugs in two villages in West Kotawaringin Regency.
