Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of biology learning using power points at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Ogan Komering Ilir which includes planning, implementation and evaluation. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were the principal, vice principal of the curriculum section, Biology subject teachers, staff staff, students related to the implementation of Biology learning. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. Test the validity of the data using the source triangulation technique. The results showed that before teaching the teacher had to plan in advance the syllabus, prota, lesson plans and other learning tools. Implementation in biology learning must also be planned, so that students can receive learning effectively and efficiently so that learning objectives can be implemented. The evaluation carried out must also be in accordance with the planning and implementation, this learning evaluation can be carried out including collecting data about activities or giving questions to students, either individually or in groups and seeing the time efficiency of using the media used in an effort to achieve the learning objectives that have been set in the learning process. learning program. In the evaluation stage, the teacher first conveys all the material related to the subject matter. Furthermore, after the teacher gave the subject matter using the power point media used, the biology teacher directly gave questions to one of the students to answer questions that had to do with the material being taught using the power point.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning strategy the power of two on the activity of students in Biology learning. This research design uses posttest-only control design with quasi experimental method. The population in this study is the entire class in X class in one high school at Palembang consisting of 5 classes, with 141 students. Sampling is using purposive technique. The sample of this study is X IPA 3 class with 36 students as experimental class and X IPA 2 class with 36 students as control class. In the learning process, the experimental class is taught by using the power of two learning strategy and control class using conventional method (lecture). Data collection is from observation sheet and questionnaire of student learning activity which have been tested its validity by using Aiken's V formula. The result of this study shows that the average of student learning activity in the experimental class in 2 meetings is 83,05% of the students who have been active in very active category. In control class, the percentage of active students 55,46% is active category. Result of data analysis that is using t-test with significant level 0,05 obtained tarithmetic = 9,693 while ttable = 1,994 seen that tarithmetic > ttable. Therefore, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected thus it can be concluded that the power of two's learning strategy can have an effect on student's learning activeness. Increasing the liveliness of learners can optimize the motivation, cooperation, responsibility, reading interest, and learner activity in the learning process. Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of school environment as a source of learning on the Plantae material (Spermatophyta) by using contextual learning on the activities of high school students of high school. This research used descriptive research type. Sampling in this research is done by purposive sampling technique (purposive sampling) considering student ability and activity in various class samples. Research sample in this research is class X MIPA. This research was conducted for three meetings with assessment instrument in the form of observation sheet which will be assessed by 5 (five) observers. The observation sheets are activity observation sheets, student attitudes and skills as well as individual student final reports. The results of this study indicate that the activities of students including active category (B) with 82% percentage of assessment. Likewise the attitude of students who belong to either category (B) with the same percentage of assessment. Another case with the skills of students who are classified as excellent (A) with a higher percentage of assessment that is 89%. Meanwhile, in the final report students individually more than 50% of students category is very good (A) with the percentage of students overall 83.8% which indicates the final report of students done with good category (B). If accumulated as a whole the percentage of assessment of each instrument is 84.42% with good category with the predicate B. Therefore, the school environment can be utilized as a source of biology learning especially Spermatophyta material by using contextual learning model. Abstract

The problem that arises in palm oil plantation operation on a huge scale is the appearance of caterpillar pest that attacks palm oil plants. There are several important pests that attack palm oil plants such as caterpillars which are the sort of Setora nitens. The appearance of the past becomes an important concern for the world’s plantation. How to eradicate the pest naturally is the performed effort. This effort can be done by using weaver ant. Weaver has the potential as the natural enemy of palm oil because they can be nesting in arboreal areas. So, this research object will focus on observing the weaver ant (Ocoephylla smaragdina) predator ability by using the forage preference test method toward several types of dominant pests in palm oil plants, especially caterpillars. Preference for choice and no-choice tests. The material used is an oil palm plantation with four species of caterpillar as the main pest on a palm plantation. The tool used in the test box amount to four in which each of the six different types of caterpillars are inserted. This research is conducted on a laboratory scale by using a complete random program experiment (CRP) and was conducted in April 2016 at Biology Laboratory UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The research results show that the weaver ant (O. smaragdina) can prey on the S. nitens caterpillar the similarity test average is 87,50% by using a nonchoice technique. The choice methods O. smaragdina can be prey 41,67% S. nitens. In the similarity test average choice techniques are different (83,33%).
