Abstract

This study aims to develop a lung cancer risk prediction system using the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. The dataset consists of 5,000 patient medical records. During preprocessing, several steps were conducted, including handling missing values, data normalization, label encoding, and selecting relevant features for prediction. A total of 61 outlier entries were removed using the Interquartile Range (IQR) method, resulting in 4,939 clean data entries. The model was trained by tuning the k parameter, with the best performance achieved at k = 20, reaching a training accuracy of 89%. Model evaluation on the test data produced an accuracy of 88%, along with high precision, recall, and F1-score for both classes. After training, the model was integrated into a mobile-based application called LungHealth, which allows users to assess their lung cancer risk. This system is expected to support early detection in a fast, accurate, and efficient manner, enabling individuals—especially those with high-risk factors—to take preventive actions promptly and improve awareness of their lung health.

Abstract

In the planning of multi-storey buildings, safety and efficiency are crucial, particularly in designing structures capable of withstanding loads, including earthquake loads, which significantly impact building behavior. One method for withstanding earthquake loads is the design of moment-resisting frame systems, categorized into three types: ordinary moment-resisting frame system (SRPMB), medium moment-resisting frame system (SRPMM), and special moment-resisting frame system (SRPMK). The focus of this study is on structures that must endure extreme earthquake conditions, specifically the SRPMK and SRPMM systems, which are designed to withstand inelastic responses due to seismic activity, ensuring that the structure is ductile (flexible) and safe for use. The design process refers to SNI 2847-2019 and SNI 1726-2019 regulations and employs the ETABS 2020 program for modeling, analysis, and design. The analysis of the mall building revealed that the dimensions of the planned structural elements, such as beams and columns, meet the cross-sectional criteria for SRPMK and SRPMM systems, specifically the Strong Column Weak Beam design, are resistant to shear, and fulfill the detailed requirements for ductile structures. This study contributes to ensuring safer and more efficient building designs in seismic-prone areas.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rampant phenomenon of online gambling promotion in Indonesia, which is not only carried out by celebrities but also ordinary people due to economic motivation. One of the cases that is the focus of the study is Decision Number: 19/Pid.Sus/2024/Pn Smd which imposes criminal sanctions on a perpetrator of online gambling promotion through social media. This topic is important because the high number of online gambling users, including among school-age children, indicates a serious threat to morality and social order. This research uses a normative juridical method with a library research approach to examine the legal basis and considerations of judges, as well as reviewing the suitability of criminal sanctions in the perspective of Islamic criminal law. The results show that the criminal elements have been legally fulfilled according to positive law, and the defendant's actions are also included in the jarimah ta'zir category in Islamic law. Although the verdict is considered complete in terms of evidence, the weakness lies in the lightness of the sanction which is only a conditional sentence, which risks creating a weak deterrent effect. Therefore, the results of this study are important as evaluation material for the development of legal policies that are more responsive and based on substantive justice values, both in terms of national law and Islamic perspectives.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a tropical climate, so the content of water vapour in the air is very high, therefore many industrial products are damaged due to high humidity, such as products with hygroscopic material characteristics, for example powder products, medicine tablets, sugar, fertilisers or products with other similar applications. The product will experience clumping so that the resulting product quality is not optimal. On the other hand, high air humidity in a controlled room is certainly very detrimental to the continuity of the production process as well as in clean room applications. Effervescent’s production room at PT Marin Liza Farmasi is an example of a clean room with temperature and RH controlled at 23°C and a water vapour content of 3.47 g/kg with RH less than 20%. If the temperature and water vapour content are not met, production cannot be carried out. The room is positively pressurised with 1177 CFM of fresh air. Damper in pre-cooling is a part that is very influential on the performance of desiccant dehumidifier. Pre-cooling dampers with openings of 10% - 100% openings will affect the value of the bypass factor and air contact factor against the evaporator cooling coil on the pre-cooling AHU, this will also affect the amount of water vapor partial pressure which is influenced by the large temperature coming out of the pre-cooling AHU due to the influence of the evaporator coil temperature. Each damper opening will be tried and analyzed to get the best water vapor content out of the dehumidifier without disturbing the performance of other systems. The damper openings selected for the Effervescent production clean room project at PT Marin Liza Farmasi are the 50% and 60% openings that produce the best dehumidifier performance without interfering with the performance of other systems, which at these openings produce a dehumidifier outlet water vapor content of 1.12 g/kg at the 50% opening with a bypass factor in pre-cooling of 12.26% and 1.2 g/kg at the 60% opening with a bypass factor in pre cooling of 12.90%.

Abstract

The manual, paper-based election of the Student Council President faces various challenges, such as the lengthy vote counting process and the potential for errors in the recapitulation. To address these issues, this study designed a web-based e-voting information system at SMK Negeri 4 Tangerang Regency. This system was built using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which emphasizes speed of development through iteration and prototyping based on user feedback. The development results indicate that e-voting can accelerate voting and vote counting, provide real-time results, and reduce paper usage. This system has been tested using blackbox testing, proving that all functions work as expected and are easily accessible to students. The study concludes that the implementation of web-based e-voting can improve efficiency, security, and transparency in the election of the Student Council President, with suggestions for system usage simulations and regular usability evaluations. Furthermore, this study also shows that the implementation of a web-based e-voting system can reduce the potential for fraud that often occurs in manual elections. With an automated and integrated system, every vote cast by voters is recorded accurately, reducing human error in the vote counting process. System security is also maintained through authentication mechanisms that ensure only authorized users can vote, as well as data encryption to protect sensitive information. This increases voter confidence in the election results, as the process is more transparent and free from manipulation. Furthermore, although the e-voting system has proven effective in increasing election efficiency and accuracy, the study also recommends the need for training for system users, both students and election committee members, to ensure they can utilize the system optimally. Continuous evaluation of the system's usability is also crucial to ensure that the interface remains user-friendly and easily accessible to all parties.
