Abstract

Some people only know the general form of tasniyah, even though there is another form, namely Deuteronomy of taghlib. Therefore, this research aims to discuss in detail the Deuteronomy of taghlib, especially in the three words as al-abawani, al-masyriqani, and al-bahrani. The novelty in the research is discussing the Deuteronomy of taghlib with Thosihiko Izutsu's Semantic Approach. Based on the literature reviewed, there has been limited in-depth discussion of the deuteronomy of taghlib. Therefore, this study argues that a detailed examination of the deuteronomy of taghlib in the Quran is essential. This research employed a library research. Followed by an analysis of the meanings of these three words based on Quranic semantics according to Thosihiko Izutsu, a Japanese linguist. The findings of this research indicate that the word al-abawani is the dual form of al-abu (father). In the Quran, al-abawani refers to both parents (father and mother) and is related to inheritance. In other verses, it refers to the two grandfathers of Prophet Yusuf: Prophet Ibrahim and Ishaq. In another context, al-abawani is interpreted as Adam and Eve in relation to their expulsion from Paradise. The word al-masyriqani is the dual form of masyriq, meaning "place of sunrise." In the Quran, al-masyriqani refers to the place of sunrise and sunset. In other verses, it is interpreted as the place of sunrise during summer and winter. Finally, the word al-bahrani is the dual form of al-bahru, meaning "sea." In the Quran, al-bahrani is interpreted as the meeting point of two seas.

Abstract

Fida’an is an activity carried out by Javanese Muslims after the death of one of their community member. The activity consists of reciting the Quranic verses of al-Ikhlas a thousand times or the tahlil up to 71.000 times which is addressed to the deceased to avoid the torment of the fires of hell and get holy rewards. This study seeks to find out the views of the people of Plosojenar Village, Kauman District, Ponorogo Regency regarding fida’an by inquiring (1) What and how is the practice of fida’an among people of Plosojenar? and (2) How do the people of Plosojenar associate fida’an practices with hadith texts? In this study, the authors used the method of observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain supporting data. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach to religion and anthropology of religious symbols by examining the concept of diversity in the symbols present in the ritual. The results of the study concluded that (1) the meaning of fida’an for the Plosojenar people is divided into two parts, namely burdening good deeds and freeing from the torment of hellfire; and (2) the community's view of fida’an is diverse such as getting rewards and guaranteed by Allah Swt to avoid hell, as well as the growth of togetherness, help, friendship and charity within the community.

Abstract

The phenomenon of “Marriage is Scary” has become one of the growing social issues among today’s young Muslim generation. Fear of marriage arises from past traumas, economic concerns, and the influence of individualistic culture that weakens the spiritual values and meaning of marriage. This research aims to reveal how Sayyid Qutb interprets the Qur’anic verses on marriage and how his ideas can respond to the “Marriage is Scary” phenomenon. This study is a thematic research employing a literature review, descriptive, and analytical methods. In other words, after describing the interpretations of Qur’anic verses containing commands to marry from various classical exegetes, the researcher correlates them with the current spiritual and moral challenges faced by today’s generation. The results show that Sayyid Qutb’s thought provides a comprehensive response to the “Marriage is Scary” phenomenon through three main aspects. First, in QS. Ar-Rūm [30]: 21, the principle of marriage emphasizes the importance of faith, responsibility, and spiritual balance as the foundation for achieving tranquility (sakinah). Second, in QS. An-Nisā’ [4]: 34, the purpose of marriage is presented as a means of moral and spiritual development that nurtures love (mawaddah) and mercy (rahmah). Third, in QS. An-Nūr [24]: 32, the command to marry is understood as an act of obedience to Allah that can heal trauma and strengthen faith. Thus, Sayyid Qutb’s ideas can serve as a spiritual alternative solution to the crisis of the meaning of marriage in the modern era. Upon completing this study, the researcher suggests that future studies expand the analysis by comparing Sayyid Qutb’s views with other contemporary exegetes, or by examining the “Marriage is Scary” phenomenon through multidisciplinary approaches such as Islamic psychology and the sociology of religion, to enrich both spiritual and social perspectives on this issue.

Abstract

Purpose This study aimed to analyze the concept of Qur’anic dhikr in Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzi’s Tafsir Mafātīḥ al-Ghayb and to examine its relevance as a complementary approach to addressing the phenomenon of anxiety among Generation Alpha.                       Method This qualitative, literature-based study used thematic-critical analysis. Primary data from al-Rāzī's dhikr verse interpretations was evaluated using reduction, categorization, and interpretation stages. This study combined classical exegesis with modern psychology ideas including emotion management, cognitive reappraisal, and neurophysiological responses. Triangulation and a review of the current literature guaranteed data authenticity. Results/findings The study revealed Al-Rāzi believed that dhikr goes beyond linguistic engagement, as evidenced by research findings. According to research, al-Rāzī defines dhikr as a spiritual awareness process that impacts psychological stability, not just a linguistic exercise. Dhikr has cognitive, emotional, and neurophysiological elements. Generation Alpha anxiety is affected by digital exposure, social interaction, and cognitive development. Dhikr may complement modern psychology as a spiritual coping method.            Conclusion                   Qur’anic dhikr can serve as an approach that integrates Islamic spirituality and modern psychology in addressing the anxiety of Generation Alpha. However, dhikr functions as a complementary therapy, not a substitute for clinical interventions. Further research is needed to determine its mental health benefits in the digital age.

Abstract

Halal food and thayyib, is food that is not prohibited by religion and does not harm the body. The words halal and thayyib are found in Surah Al-Maidah verse 88 which are interpreted by several tafsir scholars, such as Ahmad Mustafa al-Maragi in Tafsir al-Maragi, Fahri Ar-Razi in Tafsir Mafatihul Ghaib, Muhammad Abduh in Tafsir Manar, namely halal food and thayyib which consists of various foods, including livestock, which are useful for the body, do not damage, are not disgusting, delicious, do not expire and do not contradict Allah's orders. Eating halal and thayyib food is highly recommended by Islam because it will affect the health of the body and soul, more importantly it can affect a person's morals and beliefs, and cause prayer and worship to come true. With so many interpretations of halal food and thayyib, researchers want to reveal a reliable narrative using Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's Tafsir Al-Munir Book. Based on the above background, the researcher tries to find out Halal Food, Thayyib, according to Wahbah Az-Zuhaili in his interpretation of Al-Munir with a thematic approach which sets each verse in its place. In this study, the method used is the descriptive method to discuss the life journey of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili and information about Thayyib Halal food and analysis methods to study the history and background of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's thought and the final fruit of his thoughts and opinions of the Mufassirs. Halal food and Thayyib in the Koran. Meanwhile, the data sources used are primary data in the form of Al-Qur'an exegesis literature and several books, to assist in discovering Wahbah Az-Zuhaili's thoughts. And researchers also use secondary data from existing primary data sources as support. This study uses a thematic approach, namely interpreting the verses of the Qur'an by collecting verses that have the same meaning and purpose. I hope that this research will be useful for writers in particular and readers in general and that there will be further studies that are better and more useful.
